The only golfer in history that is commonly referred to as "Mr" is Ben Hogan. Well just let me say this. I think that the only golf instructor in history that should be referred to as Mr is Mr Chris Hudson ! Good stuff Mr Hudson.
In your video on gripping, it seemed to me that your left thumb was slightly to the left but here it seems straight down the grip. I did hear you say a millimeter to the left but it looks straight down.
Chris. I've seen and studied the idea of placing the thumb on the left side of the shaft. I can see it in the grips of some very elite ball strikers and players. I would like to hear your detailed explanation as to why. What is the effect on the delivery and release of he golf club and the face angle. Please elaborate. You have a great grasp of Mr. Hogan's principles as do I. I want to know your thoughts.
What I have found is that it does several things. First it gives the hands the opportunity to work as one unit. At the top of the back swing when the pressure point is on the left side there is no wiggle room or air, it feels like my left hand has the handle in a vise grip. This increases during the transition but I am not intently trying to increase the pressure. It also keeps the right hand working as a unit with the left. What I have found is that I can feel exactly where the release begins and how it follows the pivot. Kind of like a one-two punch. Always lead by the pivot. When the pressure point is on the other side of the shaft I can not feel it as much as I do when it is on the left. I am positive it has something to do with the pressure point that the thumb is signaling to the brain, neurological response. We have the most feeling sensors is our hands and I know this is connection. Just my opinion.
It looks like you are "rolling" your hands approximately when the club reaches close to parallel to the ground. Is this correct and can you describe in a little more detail what you mean by rolling the hands.
I really think Mr. Hogan had them draw the picture with the plastic around his arms was for people just beginning his type of swing. Basically, like a training aid.
I totally agree with u as far as hand placement behind the ball but remember that hogan had specifically designed clubs with flat lies. How can u place the hands behind the ball with standard lies it just doesn’t work
This is KEY, KEY, KEY !! Stunning dissertation on the hands.
Loving these videos in sunny Queensland Australia Thank you Chris 😀😀😀
Out goes the book in comes instruction from Christopher Hudson!
Another great video Chris. I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much. 🇨🇦💝👍
Thanks. You're welcome.
Excellent instructions....I have the same exact shoes you have on....love them!
Thanks for the clarification Mr Hudson, I was always confused by the arms in 5 lessons.
Any time!
Me too, that's why I went to the Internet for some clarification on the arms. That lead me here. Makes sense.
spot on
So both thumbs are going on the left side of the shaft?
Is the position of the hands relative to the position of the ball in Mr. Hogan's setup similar to the way Count Yogi positioned his hands at setup?

Thanks for the very high compliment. It means a lot.

Excellent Big man!
Big thanks

Awesome.
Wow! So Chris do u grip the club prior to addressing the golf ball the way ur explaining it?
Yes.
@@NoMoreSecrets.BenHogan I know ur concentrating on Mr hogans full swing but can u do a video on his short game as well? Thanks
@@joecalvacca3195 Maybe in time, but that is only something I share with my Master Class members when they ask.
Did Hogan use the same swing for drivers and woods as well?
Yes.

Will make a video on it soon.
Do you always flare your trail foot?
I do some times.

Agreed.

Yes it does Joe. What you are doing is squaring the shaft to the 90.

Will consider that in the future. Sorry about that.
