    DxOMark scores: Oneplus 7 Pro = 111 points. Xperia 1 = 91 points. Funny. Sony Auto mode is actually not bad for night photos and manages to maintain the look of night.

      Why is 4K video more stable on XZ3 than Xperia 1? Even though Xperia 1 has EIS & OIS but XZ3 only has EIS

      @@Awunandre Did you switch to H265 format? HDR on or off? Try using the Cinema Pro app - it seems to work really well with 4K HDR.

      @@Awunandre Because it has/had issues with syncing both OIS and EIS to work together. It's been fixed now but you can still see some twitching on x axis

    4:58 Jesus, that detail on Sony's lowlight pic on the telephoto is amazing! Look at the trees on the left; it managed to preserve the look of the leaves!

      @@PixelPeepers no mean feat using camera phone sensors. Sony nailed a lot of things with this phone. Sans the jerky stabilization at 4K, this is as close to convergence as possible that camera phones and point-and-shoots have come.

    I use my xperia 1 in manual mode all the time and the photos are just 👌🏻🔥

      Then you don't have small children running around like crazy 😆. Trying to shoot a manual photo of them is like trying to hit a flying bird with a rock

      @@markt9086 simply my friend,,, it's all about "marketing and money" Sony doesnt make huge market on them phones product, like what Samsung and IPhone do, plus when you want to take camera shots with Sony it's better you use manual mode rather than auto, it's fantastic man! And one more thing, the Sony xz3 last year most reviewers said it has great camera with good HDR... Will ever Sony go down with Xperia 1's cam?! In my opinion i dont think so, It's all about challenge and money, marketing... Get it my friend.. you won't regret 👍🏻

    Sony has an excellent ultrawide camera. I think it's the best on the market.
    About the videos, Sony's is a bit darker and a bit sharper, which i prefer. In the selfies, OP takes it.
    It would be nice, if Sony implements their own Night mode. Maybe then they would be more comparable to the other devices.

      From what I heard and saw, the wide angle camera is made by Samsung...... But when I search it on Wikipedia for Samsung ISOCELL, I don't see Sony Xperia 1 name on the list... Correct me if I'm wrong.

      @@waleednohur7685 The telephoto is the Samsung ISOCELL sensor on the Xperia 1. Both wide and ultrawide sensors are Sony IMXs

    Better video for 1+ and selfie better stabilizer and overall photos from the back cameras from sony.

      Thanks mate. The sony could still improve its video with some software updates. It can manage the oneplus 7 pro, but the big boys like iphone or samsung aren't really in Sony's reach

      Although Xperia 1 has a better details but in dynamic range OnePlus still better.. u can see if Xperia 1 is very blown out but OnePlus still keeps details in the highlight..

    For video overall one plus does better also for selfie camera, but in low light photos sony wins with all three cameras, I feel like Xperia 1 has the most detailed +lownoise photos in low light more than any other smartphone, many photos first before zooming in look better on the one plus but after zooming in turn to look trash next to Xperia 1

      True. But sony still has to battle the huawei p30 pro and samsung galaxy note 10 for low light supremacy, and sincerely, it doesn't have the best of chances

    I don't know about OP, but in low light conditions, due to f2. 4 aperture the Xperia 1 uses digital zoom instead of optical (you can verify this in the photo details).

      Maybe it wasn't low light enough to trigger the the digital zoom in the normal lens. I will verify the exif

    If Sony could get their stabilization in 4k under control, we would be in a very good situation. I just wish the other lenses were available for the manual mode. :/ But overall Sony offers one heck of a camera. And that cinema pro app is just... Gosh amazing

    okay this is shocking. BTW I think DxO and other reviewer should try your method, which is compare and review the camera performance after a couple updates. I also feel there's some improvement in my Xperia 1's camera after the last update. and also, I think the battery life is also better after the updates. Keep up the great work!

    OP7 has better dynamic range, X1 has better everything else.
    I like Sony's approach in colors, but sometimes it's a lil bit too much.

    Hi. I can't believe that the OP7 Pro has what seems to be micro jitters/wobbles when doing video especially at night. The Xperia 1 also seems to have unnatural/inaccurate colour rendering in its photos. I just sold my S9+ coz I was disappointed with the low-res/non wide angle selfie camera of it. Thinking of going for either the OnePlus7 or the Xperia 1. Thoughts & advice please.

    In the first part of the video i think that you didnt mention that the sony has in bouth Frontcamera clips some kind of Flickr around for example the streetlights or in 4K the hole ground
    But as General great video keep it like this ^^

      That is an issue with my codec, sorry. When i analyzed the videos and made the text commentaries, it was before i transformed the HVEC codec of the sony 4K video to H.264 codec so i can import it in my video editing software. Transforming HEVC to h.264 resulted those strange flickers in sony's 4k video

      Nope, nothing significant. Maybe minor improvements that i didn't find out yet. Didn't have the chance to test it in good light yet

    In some cases op 7 seems to do better job.... But finally the best photos in general aspect are taken with Xperia 1....not to mention camera pro app and the name "Sony"...

    I think this time the front camera of Sony is poor because it uses Samsung sensor instead of their in-house 13mp proven sensor from Xz premium.
    So it shows the Samsung sensor is very poor compared to Sony sensors.
    Wrong choice made by Sony here.

      Yes, but the xperia 1 also uses samsung sensors for telephoto and ultrawide, and they are just fine, much better than the ones on the op7 pro in fact

      I thought the main and tele lenses is made by Zeiss and the wide is made by Samsung.

      @@waleednohur7685 m8 you make confusion. Zeiss made the lenses, not the sensor... The main 26mm sensor is from Sony. The other two are from Samsung.
      The lenses are from Zeiss

      If xperia 5 will deliver better photos, (I don't think so, as the hardware and software are identical) it will only be thanks to some fine tuning in post processing. And this supposed little software fine tuning will also be available to the xperia 1 via software updates. So it would only be temporary. But again, i think both phones will produce identical output

    I aggre for sony lowlight just using auto, noise raw only active in this auto....so why dxo give high score for op7...
    Cons for sony is HDR mode that not good with competition even using manual mode

      for the price point k would say overall oneplus is quite a win actually compared to other devices plus onplus has no history of being a camera maker unlike sony does, welp i will find it out soon just waiting for the arrival of my Experia 1 this week

    Seriously dxomark? Gives 71 and 76 points for Texture and Noise to the Oneplus and yet only 68 and 67 pts to the Sony?! Dxomark is indeed bullshit.

    Thanx for the comparison. But youre not %100 right about some things. Exposure on video is fsr better on Oneplus. You say exposure is kinda same. And the COLORS! OMG Sony fix the orange/red tone. Everything look RED wtf.

      I wouldn't say exposure is better on oneplus videos with the back cam. Selfie camera, indeed, much better. As for the colors, here it's a very delicate matter. The only light source on that street is from sodium street lamps, and they have very orange lights. Now, the 2 phones behave very differently, oneplus tries too much to compensate for the orange lights, desaturating and switching more towards colder tones. And this is not natural, it is not what i see with my eyes in real life. Sony does the opposite, it takes the orange light and oversaturates it, becoming bright orange or even redd sometimes. This is also not natural. Both phones being wrong, i cannot say one is better than the other, as no phone is any closer to the truth than the other

      @@PixelPeepers i get what you say. But when the plants are green on Oneplus and red on Sony, even though it a bit yellowish in real life... Sony loses. What if on Sony the colors where purple.. Whould it be the same as green as it is now on Oneplus? Just because it isnt what your eyes see? No

      Clearly, as i have stated in the pixel comparison also. Sony has much better microphone quality when recording a video, and against the OnePlus 7pro, same thing

    One plus 7 pro won for video
    Sony xperia1 won for photo
    I took photos more often than videos so i prefer sony xperia 1 then..

    OnePlus has a surprisingly good video recording. It's weird even! Colours look amazing and the dynamic range is impressively good!

      Well,oneplus is a better overall but the difference is not big as the benchmark says,some people will prefer sony because of good low light performance.
