  • A 340 tutor goes through a real ETS Verbal section, focusing on Text Completion and Sentence Equivalence.
    This will be against the clock, but you will see my thought process live, focusing on synonyms and antonyms, as well as conjunctions such as ‘although’ for text completion, while focusing more on the final clause for sentence equivalence. A good vocabulary helps but you can still get 100% and not know every word!
    I hope this text completion walkthrough and sentence equivalence walkthrough helps you see how I think about the test. Inspired in part by GregMat.

    GRE and GMAT are two of most used graduate exams for those seeking to study a Masters Degree or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. The Graduate Record Exam and Graduate Management Admissions Test have been taken for over 50 years and are taken by approximately 600,000 and 300,000 people worldwide annually, respectively. These exams are typically taken between the ages of 18-40, by those who have completed, or are about to complete, their Bachelors Degree.

    133 views come on. The world is busy doing and talking shit and nobody has time to learn something creative and arduous. It manifests how people prefer shits and instant entertainment rather than long-lasting knowledge. It brings pain seeing youtubers throwing shit on internet and getting millions of views and thousands of likes, whereas nobody is willing to appreciate a man's deliberate and sedulous work for sole purpose of helping another human. Hope one day you will be acknowledged for your work.

I have given my power prep today some questions have been repeated from this walkthrough I have been preparing by seeing ur walkthrough vedios and I scored 310+ so can I assume that I will be scoring 300+ in actual gre exam or should I prepare more because I have seen those questions already before attempting power prep!

    17:08 Equivocation- come from equivocal. Equi ( equal ) + Vocal ( speaking ). Therefore, if you're speaking equally for both the sides ( i.e. +ve&-ve or good&bad ), it means you're unclear or ambiguous. So going by that, equivocation would mean giving a speech or talking in a ambiguous manner.

    Hey Phil
    Sentence equivalence Q19), I feel deceit and duplicity suits better in context. "impute" is the game changer here. Impute is defined as "undesirable attributes". Wouldn't acumen and shrewdness be qualities a detective would want?

    Such a great walkthrough. Thanks for your dedication. I have a question regarding Q2 and hope you can help me address it.
    Is the word BUT here just to distract us? Since I chose “crowded” with the thinking that: Most spacecraft are CURRENTLY at risk due to space debris, but the future will be brighter (meaning less crowded in terms of space debris). Can you please share your thinking on how do you determine which part is more important to a sentence than the other (like ignore the BUT and focus on the numbers of new satellites)?

    • @TheTestedTutor
      @TheTestedTutor  3 года назад

      Sometimes yes the words like but don't alter the meaning of the overall sentence

  • @tosinghsatyam
    @tosinghsatyam 4 года назад +4

    I have a doubt in question-2. It says in 1st line that spacecraft are at risk of collision. But then the 'BUT' used in between suggests that in coming future the risk of collision is going to decrease and for that orbital environment would be less crowded/polluted. That's where I got stuck,..choosing between crowded and polluted. but in the end you gave a completely different answer.
    Are you trying to say that the line 'given the number of new launches' suggests that the frequency of launches has increased? I mean, can't that line mean the frequency of new launches has decreased?

    • @TheTestedTutor
      @TheTestedTutor  4 года назад +3

      But pollution didn't really come into it, it is more about the number. And the passage is very much hinting that the number of new launches is _increasing_ the crowdedness, so the future will be LESS benign.

    Why do we need opposite word for 'inept' question 19?

  • @venussahu9836
    @venussahu9836 4 года назад +1

    Hi sir!! I have a question, that in the other's videos of TC and SE, they always took a first step to just ignore or hide all answer choices and do some guess work and then find synonyms of their imagined word whereas in your videos you always look towards choices just after reading sentence and you are able to just get answer accurately. So, which approach is apparently better because i m really bad with guessing words for blanks.

    • @TheTestedTutor
      @TheTestedTutor  3 года назад

      Hey Venus, so I do predict as well, maybe a bit more in my head. It is always good to do a rough prediction to see if you understand the tone and flow of the sentence. But don't spend too long as the answers may be different. Check out my latest video for more examples
