About 6 years ago I remember I first saw this ad. It said it a in development looking for backers, it actually looked decent haha I backed them with 250$ thinking to get a bracelet once development is done. They kept giving updates and showing me rugged beta versions of it until about three months before it came out. They sent out an email saying that finding parts for their pico something was hard to find and that it would be delayed passed Christmas. Then I never got another update again.
It’s sad that you can literally see the photoshop job in the ads, like if you watch close when they are typing on the “hologram” on their arm, you can see the picture coming out of the wrist band slightly moving but the watch itself doesn’t move the slightest bit, almost like they just photoshopped the screen of a cell phone onto the dudes arm under the wrist band

This scam has been running since 2016. These guys are very smart and know how to curtail the law. They are taking advantage of the fact any questions or concerns we have can all be blown away to "We can't show what we are doing else we lose it all" argument. At the end of the day Patents don't actually stop people from using it =/ just copying it.
What makes it worse, is that many of those fake shops actually accept PayPal payments, so you'd think "Hey, must be legit. Who would scam and sell via PayPal, after all there's buyer protection, right??" Wrong. These fake shops often times ship nothing and only generate a fake shipment status, with a real tracking ID. At that point, you cannot claim buyers protection, because it explicitly does not cover items lost in transit.
Think about this though. You keep a base station in your pocket that does the actual processing, the wrist band is fitted with cheap sonar detection and light detection to get touch control sensing, and all it does it transmit that data to the base station in your pocket. And for video it would be transmitted from the base station to the wrist peripheral. You don't need to fit all the hardware into the wrist band itself. Actually instead of a base station you could use your phone to transmit the video and to receive the input controls sensed by the wrist band.
The Concept is actually generally; "Sound"; the plastic band is actually like a "Hand-Terminal" Like the Piece of "Perspex" in the SyFy; Series the Expanse... The Bulk of the: "Computing" and "Data-Process" is dedicated "Elsewhere-Nearby" in your Pocket; Car; House....where-ever; communicates to a nearfield via Bluetooth! The LED back projector is similar to the 30 year old Tech. "Serafim-Lazer-table-keyboard"!.......So; U can......"See"......what U R; Typing... Additional scanners of digital keystrokes; I assume via Infra-Red Light Scanners determines what U type; browse;.....Etc. (What I am saying is Conceptual, Remember!) If U want to be really; "Cheeky"; you can incorporate other nearfield Apps. to-it-as-well; like RFID for opening your Front Door; Etc. Or an additional LED at the front as a Torch for a dark night! I'm no genius, but 3 things put up red flags: 1: The blacks on the screen were darker than the skin color, 2: The 'screen' was bouncing around as if it was a tracked shot, 3: There is ZERO way to track input. Please tell me I wasn't the only one who noticed that. . . .
Because they just want the advertising revenue. Simple as that. They arent checking the credentials of the advertiser, nor the bonafides of the product
I actually purchased one. And then I was lucky that I managed to refund it before it was being sent out. And yes. 99% of the FB ads are scams. Either jack up the price you get from Amazon or 100% fake ads.

But in the end it kept getting bigger and bigger to allow for all the necessary components. Sadly the product was never completed and now scammers have stolen the footage to sell shit products. You can actually view a video of the original prototype and see how it worked. The potential for this to be completed when smaller components are developed.
I got scamned and the CEO of that business told me that they couldn’t refund me because I had already funded. So much for a legitimately business. You’re probably not thinking of the same business. The one I talked to were the actual company who did the concept video.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but you're so wrong and lack knowledge if you think this 'sci-fi' bracelet is never gonna happen. It can even be made right now! With al the tech that is out, this project is really simple. If you use the finger motion tracking tech used in Microsoft hololens or even the oculus quest handtracking toolkit, this bracelet can easily be made with some small camera's and a very small light projector.
Even if they used all the tech u described it would still be giant and would still look garbage and even with Microsofts finger tracking from where the cameras would be it would still be impossible to rotate or pinch and zoom without 1 finger blocking the cameras view. As nice as it would be it would never look or operate like the original claims try using a projector on the beach in the middle of the day even with today's brilliant projectors there just isn't enough light for this to show up on your wrist like it says

Alone the projection is a nightmare from the optical standpoint, not speaking about required brightness and power consumption. The gesture interface could work, but it is kind of difficult to get really fluid and also you get all kind of issues with ambient light and dust and water.

2nd thing is the video shows it projecting black, but you can't project darkness, it's the absence of light. All projectors "create" black by contrasting the unlit area with lit areas.

After Effects*, Photoshop is used for images, After Effects for videos.

I just seen the ad for that but it wasnt on Facebook. It was an ad on a video game. Happy I researched it before buying.
