This is a fantastic experience listening to the Maestro working with young conductors. Anyone who asks what a conductor's role is should be referred to this masterclass. Warm regards from the Jerusalem Symphony orchestra.
I didn't expect this amount of pure love and joy from a masterclass. But I found the deep care and fond in this class. Thank you for creating culture, history, bonding, and love through music. Very lovely.
I first watched this series (with Fischer) two years ago, and now I'm rewatching it. This taught me more than anything else I've read or watched what a conductor can do with an orchestra. I learned so much, and therefore I'm grateful to the Concertgebouworkest and to Maestro Fischer.
I have listened to you Catalina, many times you are amazing and I am sure 100%. They will make a great conductor lady and you will be successful. You’ve got this ambition and you got the music in you. There’s something special about you. I just love to listen when you contact I wish you all the best in the world carry on the good work. You do. God bless you one of the maestros said during one of the rehearsals was the concert about a group of men who Came Group of men okay and you know in the ladies to learn the choir they’re contacting and what to do and he said that the lesson is like we see and I adopt a bit phrase and I have started working on it to listen and to be able to see

Apply to participate in the Ammodo conducting masterclass with Fabio Luisi and the Concertgebouworkest, taking place from 27 to 29 June 2022 at The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Apply through Muvac: bit.ly/3rjhyLJ. Deadline: 16 December 2021.
Could anyone explain me what maestro Fischer means by saying "C/E/D natural" in Mahler? Is that a C with a natural accidental? What's the theory behind it?
I get the feeling, that young conductors lost the feeling for the rests and fermatas in the first movement of Beethoven 5. These are tension-rests, not just some marks. Mr. Dendievel took them very short, which isn't very fitting, I think.
A great musician listens to the rests... It can easily be an 'articulation'. (Mozart was precise on this aspect of his writing ; we tend to forget it.)
Great, lady had too much energy. Too high gestures for most passages, even with many corrections. Hopefully she plays an instrument sometime in the future. For most part, they need more flexibility and simpler gestures. Very great masterclass. Hopefully I get such a chance to learn under such dedicated and detailed Mæstro as Fischer. Very helpful indeed. Best wishes to students!
Quite disgraceful to see how inexperienced (and oftentimes: clueless) these conductors are. Virtually every mistake they make is the sort of mistake that should be correxted in music school. They only have their (made up) CVs and references to thank for getting them in front of this orchestra.
21:11 Wonderful, so easy, so important, no showing off, just pure music making, creating sound, helping the musicians.
Jeder Takt von diesem Orchester ist ein Geschenk. Danke.

Maestro Ivan Fischer is so detailed and meticulous in his conducting, so fascinating to see one of the greats at work.
If there was ever a video making clear what a conductor actually does, then it is this one.

So much learning here. I miss being in such an enriching environment. Thank you, Maestro Iván Fischer and Thank you, Concertgebouworkest!

So clear and so practical. Wonderful teaching and a wonderful orchestra

When conducting an orchestra at this level, it's almost as if the conductor becomes a witness to the beauty around him.1:08:20
After that solo, the orchestra "claps". What are they clapping? The solo, the direction? I don't know if it is some kind of tradition, or what.

J: "Percussion"
F: "Percussion...that's the problem."
🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:36:00 F:What is your instrument?
M: "Cello".
F: Arr "Good"!
Worked out OK for Rattle...
Fantastic lessons !!! very grateful for it from Acre Brazil !!!
So fun to watch, thank you!
I enjoyed every bit of this. This is where my passion is but its late now
Thanks Concertgebouworkest
58:14 and 58:56 really compete with Celibidache’s famous “VIOOOLAA!!!!!”
love it!! That’s the true music making!
But Celibidache was an arrogant asshole. Please don't compare fantastic Fischer with him.

May I ask everybody, if you have watched all of three teachers , Fischer, Gatti, Järvi, who do you like most? And why? Thank you.
55:21 worst nightmare!
Fisher is a GÉNIUS conductor. Only HE can and MUST be the new chef of the KCO.
I think the most important question is what is their instrument.
great and powerful conducting for the 2nd one, bravo!!

Totally agree on this, it seems rushed and loses its tension due to this!
he's turning the 400m into the 60m dash, I think.
I liked it, reminded me a bit of the ACO recording which is probably one of my favorites right now

you are just old-fashioned and out of touch. resign.

This was June 2020.

it was really awkward for Katharina Wincor IMO.
