  • In this episode I'll show you how to mix a bump and a normal map for use in Unreal Engine. Some outfits come with both to create the final detail, but the current Daz to Unreal bridge can only handle either, not both. I'll show you how to do this with Substance Painter and a trick to make it work with Daz Studio too.

Another great video thanks a lot and I had a question.
I have a curvy character and clothes look bad.
I fit the outfit perfectly to the character using Dforce and animation simulation.
However, when I save this simulation result as Morph, it does not work properly.
Is there any way to do this? Or what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks.

That is a great idea actually! Export the HD Daz character, and an SD version with normal maps, then import both into Substance Painter and bake a normal from the HD detail. Now mix both normals together, apply it to the original Daz character and start the transfer to CC. This might even work for transfers to UE. I’ll have a play and let you know if it works.
Update: I've tried it, naturally it doesn't work because the CC Transformer doesn't work with normal maps, only with diffuse and bump. So another option then is to transfer the character without HD detail first, then use the CC mesh and the HD Daz mesh in the same pose and bake the details from that.
