Thank you, I waited 5 months for my husband. with your instructions I did it myself!
Thank you ... didn’t have a clue how to do the clips, and now I know, what would we do without ppl like you? Cheers .
Thank you, I'm glad I found you on youtube! Having had my house rewired the electrician failed to inform me how to change the spot bulbs which are all over the house. I need to invest in a 'sucker!'
I tried to take out a GU10 bulb for days, watched your video and in 1 minute out it came and I replaced it in no time. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much. This video has been a fantastic help. Just moved into new house with just about every type of bulb mentioned here and nearly all of them needing replaced. Diamond!
been trying to figure out how to change my lights for months, no google searches helped until i found this video. thank you 🙏
Great video. I had to change a downlighter bulb for the first time and had no idea how to get into the fitting. My Mate Vince's video solved the problem nicely.
I never knew about using a sucker for replacing the bulbs in our kitchen. So easy when you know how. Thank you.
I was about to unscrew and open the whole lamp and I had the idea to watch a video about G9 and I found this one that saved my life. Thanks.
ahahah me too!!! So simple when u know ;)
I was afraid to break the bulbs in my vent hood. Going through the bulbs help me. The suction cup was great advice. Thanks.
Very nice, very thorough explanation. 👍 I just moved to Thailand from the US, completely different light fittings, lol.
I do have a helpful saying for you...
" *Left-y loose-y , Right-y tight-y* " 😁
didn't know where to start - this video made it simple took less than a minute to replace bulb Thanks!
Thank you for posting this. I would not have been able to change my light without your help. I wish contractors would consider that the next home owner wishes they would have just put a a regular light bulb in!
Thank you also for your How To video! I waited 3 or 4 years to change my vanity bulbs in my bathroom sans no BF or hubby 😊👍
I've been losing my mind trying to work out how to remove the (some smashed to buggery by previous owners) MR16s from my kitchen, life saver!
Just moved to UK and you helped me so much!
you helped me change kitchen lamps, thank you!!
Thank you so much for explaining and demonstrating so clearly, how to change such a variety of bulbs along with the safety aspects - it is so much appreciated.
93 thumbs down? What madness is that for an extremely helpful video?
I don't know if these UK version (240V) apply to US (120V) by type names, but seeing the different variations of contact & insertion/removal was very helpful as I try & figure out what I have.
Many thanks!
Used video to replace GU10 halogen bulb. Excellent explanations with video. Changing a light bulb is no linger easy!
Thanks so much for sharing the different varieties of bulbs and how to change/replace them. Extremely helpful. God bless.
Thanks a lot. I had three broken GU10 LED's in my apartment and no clue on how to change them. You helped me quite a bit :).
Thank you so much for this Vince. Been struggling to work out how I change the G9 Halogen 240V bulbs in my kitchen light fitting since moving into my cottage. Now I know ! So easy ☺
Thank you so much for making this video. I was able to figure out how to change my own lights...was having a difficult time taking them out because I didn't know about the little sucky thingy & turning them counter clockwise. Now I know because of you!!! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much , we had 5 lights on 8 go out and we had no idea how to change them until I saw this video and the wire prongs are actually a clip... Just I clipped the first one , getting new lamps tomorrow
Very useful, thankyou! It helped me finally identify what bulbs my kitchen downlights need (MR16). I was stumped as all I had was two empty sockets
Thank you! Changes out my G10 bulb with this video :)
Really easy instructions to follow - have finally been able to change my kitchen downlighter lamps - thank you!
Darlyl
Thanks so much for the clear helpful instructions Vince!
Very helpful video thank you. Off to change my shower and other bathroom bulbs now
Most informative video about uk spotlightbulb on youtube! 👍🏼
Hope you get enough streaming and ad money back, what a good lad
Thanks Vince for the very helpful video. Regarding the G9 bulb, many of your viewers have reported that the bulb is stuck inside the socket and could not be removed. It is the same with my case. Some of the G9 bulbs are very easy to remove but one is stuck. It can slide about 3mm in and out but it will not come out even when I pulled on it very hard. I would greatly appreciate it if you have a solution for this. Many thanks again for the great video.
This came in very helpful today. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. Brilliant video. Need to change the bulbs and had no idea how to change them. Once again, many thanks.
+Eklavya Thank you.
Thanks! You've just helped me changed my GU11 kitchen spotlight bulb. Star!
Cheers mate. Thanks to your video, I finally managed to install my G9 bulb
Thank you for this! I don't sign in/comment very often but videos like this really help!
Wonderful. Thank you for going to the trouble of making this. Now if you could just do another video showing how to change bulbs on picture lights (the sort of fittings with shields at either end) I’d be eternally grateful:-)
Ohh my goodness I had not realised it had come with a sucker... never fitted one before and could not grip well enough to turn... ( the one u need to twist LCD) seeing you with the sucker I looked in package and there it was... !!! and with it , I did manage it this time . So Thank you...!!.bulb in ...job done now ! :)
It's a really helpful video. Thank you so much.
Thank You so much ! It was easy. I watched and and watched. And finally it worked. I happy camper.
Great video, thank for explaining!
Just came across your video, thanks for the help ! I think video 2 was the one I'm after.
Thanks! Your video was very helpful. My light did not come with good instructions. Couldn’t figure out how to get the bulbs to connect. I needed to use the sucky thing. Lol. Worked. Yay sucky thing 😁
Thank you good sir. You rescued my frustration. Subscribed!
Thanks for all of this. I am following along, and hope I can find a 'suction' thing here in U.S.A.!!!

thank you so much for your help! your are so good!
Just what I needed to know, thank you 👍
thank you mate, as i didn't know whether plugging in a halogen light would have been safe for 240 volts. great help.
My Nan has one like the ip rated 12 v one but it is an extractor fan with an mr16 bulb build in and there’s a plastic dust catcher or air flow thing on the bottom of the fitting a bit like a down light and you remove that and then the top of the bulb then sticks out a bit so that you can pull out the old one and push in the new one then u put the plastic thing back
So useful!!! Thank you
Thank you for the very clear instructions, my bulbs need the sucky thing, unfortunately on three of the bulbs the glass fronts have come off, HELP how do I get the bulbs out now??
Great video, very helpful! Thank you
SO clear - thank you 👌
Thank you very much, useful information 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great help. Thanks!
Thanks from Texas mate!
06:37 thanks for confirming that I haven't broken anything 😆
Almost ripped of my lamb from the ceiling, just in pure rage.
Thanks for the upload mate!
Your not the only m8 I spent ten bloody minutes trying to keep the dam spring clip 🤬🤬🤬 in place as obviously it kept springing back out but got there in the end thank god otherwise we would have had to rewire the whole bloody house 🤬🤬🤬🤬 but at least I can laugh about it now 😊
Great video! Thanks.
Thank you ... I finally got it reinstalled
For anyone struggling to release pull/release a GU10 from the fitting (can't turn or pull), try using a small suction cup like you might find on something that sticks to a wall. Press inward while turning anticlockwise (approx. 45°) to unlock, then use the suction cup to pull gently. I was struggling with mine for a while but this worked immediately for me.
Thanks very helpful
Great video...thanks
Thank you so much , now a widow so no one to show me what to do . And no one allowed in house because of self isolating. .
Hi Vince - thanks for the video - But when you say "remove the bulb nice and gently" I am finding that I have to exert quite a bit of force and the bulb still hasn't come out. Is that common? We bought the light fitting from new and obviously this is the first time a bulb has been removed. Again, is it common for the bulbs to be tough to remove and what would you suggest?
so helpful. Thank you
Thanks for sharing. Great,
Thanks a lot!
Thank you I know which one now brought wrong halogen before x
Is there another way to remove the MR16 bulbs?
I tried using the suction cup and it either just takes off the glass circle front of the bulb leaving the bulb in place or rips the whole light fitting down and messing up the ceiling.
(I eventually took apart the fitting and saw that it’s definitely an MR16)
Thanks for your video to change g9 bulb but why I can’t pull it out but others is okay to pull out and changeable
Great video, thanks, but when you say at 15:30 fitting the bulb back in can be fiddly you weren't kidding. 30 minutes to fit 3 bulbs! Why? Lined it up didn't work, lined it up again didn't work. Didn't work again 20 times, then didn't do anything different, lined it up and in it went it no problem. Used to take 3 minutes to do this stuff in in the 70s.
Saved me having a hernia.
Thank you very much ❤
Hi. Can I put a 25w in a 40w lamp? 40 is too bright for me.
Many thanks
Thank you so much!!!!
the one you are doing at 19:01 in the video....I think I have that but finding it very very difficult to remove the ring! Please can you help with more tips on this? I initially had removed the entire fitting from the ceiling!
Hi Mate,
Thanks for the video. Just a quick question, my home is full of the polished metal downlight holders you have in No.4: GU10 240v LED Twist Fit. (10.34), I need to replace a few and I can't seem to locate anyone who sells them in Australia, or around the world for that matter. I've scoured the internet looking for replacements but, because I don't know who makes them or the model number, I couldn't locate any.
In a nutshell, do you know who makes them or the model?
I'd really appreciate it if you you could help. Thanks
Very helpful... Thanks..
Cheers again man.
In G4 two pins are there can be insert the bulb in socket irrespective of the bulb terminal positive or negative.
thank you so much!
Thank you! Problem solved!
Thank you!
Thank you so much
if you loose your sucker (which grips the face of the bulb) use a lump of BluTac
Thanks for your great idea
Would love advice on how to remove a G9 that won't come out! Driving me crazy as I don't want to replace 2 4-light fixtures because of a stuck bulb! Such a pain this bulb!
lol did you get it out? I have this problem...
