Hello Everyone, Thanks for checking out my video, hope it did help you! Please don't forget to subscribe and check other helpful videos I have on my channel!
A low tech solution - "just force it"! However, your video has given me confidence to push it much harder and to wiggle it in. Thank you so much. Greetings from Scotland.
This video is a lifesaver. I always thought my G9 bulbs wouldn't go in properly because the pins were wrong or whatever. I didn't realise that you just had to apply some extra pressure (but not too much that you break the fixture) and wiggle it just a little until it clicks. Thanks so much for this video! If I can add my own advice: when you push down on the bulb make sure you're countering that force from the bottom to make sure you don't rip the fixture off the wall.
Thanks your video is still helpful. I tried 3 times prior to watching and was convinced the knock off G9’s were incompatible. I’ll try again with much more force.
There is a pin in the center of these fixtures that holds the bulb in. If the bulb is not going in, then the pin is bent to the wrong side and prevents the bulb from going in. Bent it slightly to either direction and insert the bulb with the pins angled towards the opposite side of the bent center pin. It will go in without force either to one way or the other, it is just that center pin that is bent wrong that prevents it.
The original is a G9 halogen bulb. Your replacement is an G9 LED bulb. The LED bulb will run cooler and use less electricity but it may have a different light color (bright white instead of warm white) depending on the bulb.
Only the halogen bulb requires you to not touch the outer glass. There is also bulbs that are xenon that will not get as hot and if you touch the glass it probably will not burst either definitely the LED will not break so you can touch that.
Wow! I was figuring there was either some technical explanation,e.g. wrong type of light switch or the package were all duds. Never occurred to me: "Just force it in further". Only U explained it.
question: How do you take out the G9 LED bulb? I have one in my fridge, tucked in the back, and I can't get it out. I think if I pull it too hard, it will break. Tips? Thanks
It should NOT be so hard to change a fu€king light bulb! Only small children with the hand grip strength of a UFC fighter can possibly change these badly designed and engineered POS bulbs. 😢

Trying for 15 minutes, I gave up. All it took was a strong “click”! And I only learned that after watching your video. Thank you so muchhhhhh

Glad I could help.
That was awesome, thank you! Just moved into a house that had these installed, and I had not seen them before. Well done!
I love that the answer is just “force it” 😂 thanks for your video. It helped.
Lol

Thanks, I actually had to replace these in the exact same fixture, I was hesitant to pull the old bulb out.

I actually replaced a bulb that went bad. And used the same method. No issues.
I just changed another bulb this past weekend using the same method.
Good
Merci

I had these bulbs for over two years now in my living room, and today, I tried to take out one faulty... no chance lol

I tried to do this and it snapped right off. Ruined the entire light fixture!!!
I hope you’ve recovered.
The G9 bulb is a curse
What a dumb design. I have a fixture that doesn’t come apart so it is almost impossible to remove the bulb.
