I have a chandelier-style lamp in my hall.. with.. 7 bulbs... I mean.. SEVEN!!!! so buying x2 3 packs (£80.00) is a bit of an ouch, but I need that one last bulb to complete things... ARGH!!! Do I really want to spend that amount of cash on a light I don't use a lot... heck... what a way to start a Sunday morning Stu!!! This requires a serious bit of contemplation and distraction to stop me ordering these! :) - Good video as usual!
I would love these with matter or HomeKit integration. And use them for notification light.nothing else. That would be cool. And Stu please get a similar lamp again. It’s your “thing” maybe a bank lamp or similar. See you Stu.
The algorithm understands that I like your videos, so it shows me them whenever you put a new one out luckily. I enjoyed this video, even though I think the G9 must be for British households?
put some little feet on that tiny cube shade and allow natural convective ventilation to cool the bulb. Raiseing the glass cube-refractor-shade will also cover the bulb's height. And still prevailing wisdom holds; smaller bulbs lacking a heat sink will overheat in an enclosed shade,.even larger bulbs of the same wattage with heat dissipation factored into the design. Heat is still the killer of bulbs.
What's the smallest length GU9 smart bulb. I don't want the bulb protruding the light fitting. I already have a non dimmable GU9 led bulb by Dicuno, but this protrudes my Dar Luther wall light.
Hi Stu, I have a lovely lamp that uses a G9 bull and it would be perfect with colour changes. So this looks like just the thing. However, we have a zigbee system and I am unsure if it will work with that, do you know if it will, please?
I do have a G9 Chandelier but with 10 fittings and only 3 bulb pack would cost £144 for just the bulbs. Maybe with a bigger multi pack fitting in the future I would be very interested.
Do these work with dimmer switches? I have smart dimmer switches so I can turn lights on off & up and down. These could be the last piece of the RGB puzzle. I like the look of these but I'd like for the family to be able to control the "normal light" directly with a dimmer to mitigate the disproportionate and unhinged anger directed towards me, but I would like to also be able to change from day light to warm white via an automation (whilst also having RGB at my disposal!). Can this be done or will they flicker when dimmed via a dimmer switch or need to be re-paired each time?
Just picked some of these up and they’re abit buggy unfortunately which is a shame because Stu promised I’d be cool! 😂 The genuine excitement I had when I realised these were a thing though. My dumb wall lights have been a pain for too long!
What’s bugging for you? I literally have no issues with mine at all (I think one randomly reset maybe a week after this review, but then had been fine since- may have been something to do with a spate of power cuts we had tho) 👀👀
Sup Stu. Pairing was absolutely effortless which was great but both have separately and pretty quickly had stints where they switched off & refused to come back on (aside from a blink when trying to turn back on or change colour) so swapped one bulb over as I bought a 3 pack and only have 2 wall lights and still getting intermittent issues when using with Alexa. Reset and repaired both a couple of times now. I’ll give them a few days to see if I can work out the kinks but not quite as seamless as I’d hoped. They have the potential to be brilliant though!
Just via the Smart Control mate. Reset via the wall switch has helped get them working again but kind of defeats the purpose. Did you manage to replace your old timey reading light?

@@StusReviewsUK Well I posted something twice and neither appeared - the only "unusual" thing I did was include a link to amazon for the G9 sockets so one could adapt a "bankers desk lamp" to take the Feconn G9's. I never realised that this would happen! I also asked if you had tried them with Home Assistant, if they are mains powered (which I assume) and if 350 lumens is the maximum light output with all the coloured and white led's on full power. Many thanks

The circuits inside all modern bulbs are designed to drive the LED as hard as possible. If a module doesn't die within 2 years (rendering the remaining ones useless), the capacitors on the circuit will. A lifespan of 20+ years sadly is just a marketing claim.
Interesting points. The history of the filament lightbulb is fascinating… the Phoebus cartel is one of the most astounding things… and the precursor to modern consumerism.
HORRIBLE probuct, ive been through 16 bulbs as i have fitting with 4 or 5 bulbs in them and they Constantly fail, they have been replaced directly with FECONN and still fail DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU CAN GET FOR LESS THAN £5
You have to get a banker's lamp back... maybe replacement glass is available for the broken one? Also the sad tale of its' demise should be told.
No tale to tell… just being being a clumsy oaf 😭
CHecked stock levels on Amazon when I watched this, said 8 in stock.. now down to 1 left :) Clearly, there has been interest!
Great content and perfectly timed to coincide with a brew and brunch 😁

Any suggestions for a G9 bulb which is philips hue app compatible?

Hello
So I can turn it on by switch on the wall or only by the app ??
0:04 found out those 80s looking lamps are sold by Lloytron, you should buy a *proper* 80s or 70s lamp.
i recently brought a lamp from 1976
Hi, can the three bulbs display 3 dofferent colours at the same time
Never even knew G9 bulbs were a thing 😳First time I've ever heard of them.
You need more chandeliers in your life!
@@StusReviewsUK 😂Which mansion would you advise?
@Nite-owl every man’s home is his castle… if you want a chandelier in the box room, you put a chandelier in the box room 👌🥃
@@StusReviewsUK My parents once had a chandelier, around 1970, it was hideous. Obviously not a posh one though as it didn't have individual bulbs.
I'm having issues with the link to the bulb. I'm from canada and I don't think they work. Do you know any shops that would ship here? Thank you!
This was great just having issues finding the link to the specific bulb on amazon. :(

Morning Sir. Put 6 of these on a glove and rename yourself Thanos
