Must be US only, always unavailable in the UK :(
Hi Chris, I have learnt a fair bit from your videos and thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was hoping if you can help, your products about Muzata are not available in the UK and have been struggling to find anything similar. Have you come across any other products that is similar quality which is sold in Amazon UK or even Alibaba? Any help would be great.
Thank you.
Wow, finally a diffuser that actually diffuses LEDs!
Its definitely a good one! Just wish it was not so expensive!
What a find! Looks like a product for commercial use, but works so well for domestic use too.
The diffusion looks so good too, passing light all the way through.
I''ve been having ideas to create some similar as fascia boards for our porch and this product may enable that into fruition. Thanks for the share and cant wait to see what you plan on doing with them next!
They really do look amazing! So many possible applications! Looks like they sold out of them already. Hopefully a re-stock will be coming soon! Thanks for watching!!
@@ChrisMaherDIY still no re-stock this is so sad
You are the MAN for doing all these diffuser tests. I too have been trying to score the most perfect diffused setup, but haven't been able to afford try too many things. I REALLY appreciate you taking one (or two!) for the team, and trying them out for me.
You are very welcome! Its a fun hobby for sure. I just wish these were not so expensive. At some point I'm for sure going to try doing a DIY version of this and see how it turns out!
I just instantly liked this because it's 3:31. Thank you for getting to the point quickly.
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! Glad you liked the video! Lol yeah I generally like to just jump right in!
This summer I'm going to finish my game room. I've had ideas in my head that I've only found solutions for on your channel! Thank you!
Wow, that's beautiful.
Had not looked in a while but they are finally IN STOCK
By far the best LED diffuser implementation I have seen so far.
Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate the support!!
I didn't know I needed this. Now I have to have this.
Chris you never miss, incredible to see your growth !
Thanks so much!! Appreciate the support buddy!
I've been doing the edge lit plexi since the late 90's. However, I did not have access to a new molded aluminum channel to house it so it was also rather tacky looking or made of wood. The advent of formed channel aluminum for this mod makes it well worth buying. Glad someone finally adapted it for acrylic.
Yeah the aluminum channel is really what makes this shine. I'm currently trying to make a diy version of it using wood and discovering what you have already known for a while now lol. Its hard to make it look good using wood lol. Thanks for watching!
@@ChrisMaherDIY Whats the concern with wood? just an aesthetics thing or is it a reflective properties thing
if its the latter couldnt you just use a bezel? instead of using the wood structurally? and if its the former, same deal, structural wood and then cover it with a more aesthetically pleasing bezel
Not with LEDs you weren't
@@MrTeathyme If I were to guess, I'd imagine it has to do with the size? Aluminum channel maintains a small form factor, and I would imagine that wood would be quuite bulky? Source: none
Do you know the specs of the edge lit plexi, I want just the panel in order to cut it in different shapes.
If you have a recommendationfor a plexi let me know
New comer to the channel here! Thank you Chris for the tutorials/how to videos, as well as different project ideas.
I just renovated my basement and will be taking on a beginner project. Can't wait!!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! You are certainly welcome. I definitely enjoy doing it! That sounds like such a fun project and i'm sure a million different ways you could add some fun lighting to the basement! Let me know how it turns out!
My friends and I have started looking into LEDs for our "gamer house", and your channel is an absolute GODSEND for us. Thank you for making the content that you do!
Thanks so much for watching and glad you are liking the videos! Hopefully you are documenting the game house setups because that would be awesome to see how it all comes together! Thanks for all the kind words!
these look really cool, got the gears turning for an updated version of my beer tap handle, but it'd also be interesting to see how they hold up if the channel and acrylic are cut at an angle
I'm wondering the same thing! I have many ideas and some would require them to be cut! My guess is they will cut just fine but I would still be a little nervous to try! lol.
Wow!!
THANK YOU!! 😁😁
Not only was I going to enquire about your favorite diffuser, was actually going to suggest, time and finances permitting, a kind of "Best To Install" diffuser video less than a week ago....
It's unfortunately STILL on the online Todo list,
BUT,
at #2 😅
Again, fantastic content my friend!
And I huge shout-out to your wife, as I'm perfectly aware of how much support she's gotta put in for this series to output the way it does! 😁
Cheers!!
Great timing!! Thanks so much buddy and appreciate it! Thanks for all the support. Lol fortunately my wife has been amazing with how messy the house looks during some of these projects. She's a saint!
Quality! Thank you

Thanks so much buddy! Thanks for watching!
Those diffuser panels are dope as hell. Thanks for sharing
You are welcome! Thanks so much for watching!
impressive! not just the build, but also the fact you reply to basically every comment
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I still try to respond to every comment! I'm sure I've missed a few here and there but its the least I can do! Thanks buddy and hope you had a great weekend!
I love ESP32 with WLED. I have made a few Gaming setups with muzata channels and diffusers. So good to see others out there are using diffusers on their LEDs lol. Great video and I just learned about these channels. never seen em and theyre awesome! thanks!
Thanks so much for watching! Appreciate the support buddy! They are definitely top notch diffusers!! Your gaming room sounds epic!
Please productize these and make a plug-and-play product. I’d definitely pay for it!
Thanks so much for watching! If I ever give it a try I'll let you know!!
This looks amazing
That looks incredible!
Not sure if you just do it because it is quicker, but you can cut off the white heat shrink, and de-solder the existing wiring instead of cutting off and wasting the first and last LED on every strip.
Love your content.
Yes! That's what i do, don't cut the whole led off when you can cut the wire, that's just so wasteful. esp if you are soldering them together anyway. also long term the tape is very important on these as its thermal tape. it will help the leds run cooler and thus last longer.
Thanks so much for watching! lol yeah that's just me being lazy and trying to save time. I have done exactly what you have described in the past and its not very difficult but having to do it to about 5 strips on both sides did not seem fun!
I think something about half the height of this installed near the ceiling with white adjustable color temperature LEDs would be a great subdued led light strip. Program it to adjust color temp throughout the day
That would be awesome and great idea! I'm sure it would not be too hard to do that! Thanks for watching!
youtube algorithm blessed me with this one. appreciate your hard work bro
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I'm glad you are liking the videos!!
Can't get enough of this content one day I will have time to sit and make some of this stuff!
Thanks so much!! Glad you are liking the videos and appreciate you taking the time to comment!
Hey Chris, since these are out of stock/discontinued are there any other panels that you like that are similar?
Did you found anything like that?
Anything?
There are a number of people who have published their code for fire effects on the WS2812/ESP32. This would look really sweet if done so the fire originates from the center and spreads to the sides on a horizontal mount, and bottom-up if mounted vertically.
With some slightly slimmer channels, i'd say they would make some fancy door/window trim (or trim for the entire upper section of the wall).
For me i'm thinking about covering up a whole wall with them, behind the seats.
Great video, keep up the good work.
Thanks so much for watching! I was thinking the same thing! So many cool things you could do with these!
Hello Chris, I would like to begin by expressing my admiration for your fantastic videos. Your projects are so well executed that I could not have done them any better myself. Secondly, I would be thrilled to see a video from you about Hyperion/HyperHDR.
And sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native speaker
Thanks so much for watching and I appreciate the support! That is for sure on my list of projects I would like to attempt. I've watched a few videos on it already and it looks amazing!!
Being a PC modder obsessed with RGB lights, these open up a lot of new ideas to go with my custom liquid cooling loop and PC case itself. Especially with my 360mm x 120mm flat, clear reservoir. It's a EKWB EK-Quantum Volume FLT 360 Reservoir, for reference. I'd leave an Amazon link, but RUclips likes to randomly delete comments that have them.
I love looking at the crazy setups people come up with for their PC builds! That's awesome! I've also heard from a few other people as well that if they leave a link it gets deleted. I have no idea why!
@@ChrisMaherDIY, I have a few uploads of an older PC of mine on my channel you might want to check out. It's got quite a bit of RGB. It was my first lighting PC project. There's some custom cooling, too. I need to upload some new stuff.
I was thinking something like this would look amazing in a case mod - might have to work on something for this as I have a couple cases this would look perfect in.
Cringe flex kid
Edge lit acrylic would also look awesome on something like a distro plate
Thanks!
I have the normal sized Muzata channels everywhere in my gaming room and they look flawless, but somehow these steal the show.
Have you posted a video of your gaming room?! I love seeing stuff like that! But yeah, these definitely have that extra wow factor!
That looks sick!👊🏽👍🏽. Nice work!
not me accidentally stumbling across your channel and going down the rabbit hole of custom lighting my entire apartment
Hahaha its a fun hobby for sure! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have! Thanks for watching!
im doing one of ur older diys with the corner acrylic piece but on the corner of my wall to ceiling. wish i woulda found these before bc that is so much cleaner
That's so cool you made it yourself! Lol yeah I wish I would have found these earlier as well! I'm honestly not sure though when they came out. Maybe they just came out recently and would not have even been available at the time. Thanks buddy!
this one looks elegant chris! would love to put it on walls as accents...
Thanks so much! That would look really nice! If I knew these existed a while back, I would have probably tried using them someone on my board and batten accent wall video!
Quick efficient demo. Thank you.
You are very welcome and thanks for watching!!
Amazing just what I was looking for hope they come back in stock on amazon. Thank you for the video
Thanks! Yeah I hope they do too. They sold out pretty fast. They must not have had much inventory built up. I'm planning on re-releasing the video once hey are back in stock so hopefully that is soon! Thanks for watching buddy!
I think they would look great on stairs, but imagine making sliding glass door vertical blinds with those.
I love your ideas!! That would be so cool making blinds with those! Might have to try at some point!!
This guy is right on the money. Nice work!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!
These are absolutely beautiful
I agree! Thanks so much for watching! My favorite diffuser ever! Just wish they would come back in stock soon!
Dude !!! I'm mesmerised ! Your work is amazing ! Very creative !
Thanks so much! Its easy to make videos with cool stuff like this. They will look good no matter what i do lol. Thanks for watching buddy!
Firstly, love your videos! It's provided me so much inspiration for my own place. I.really hope these come back in stock. I want to make these for all the baseboards in my place, I think it would look awesome!
Have you tried taking the aluminum piece to any local shops to see if any could fab it up for you? You already have a copy you just need it reproduced.
Hopefully they come back in stock soon, been checking everday! 😅
Thanks so much for the comment! Appreciate the support! I have not tried that but its a good idea! I've been trying to make a diy version but re-creating the slim profile of the aluminum with wood/other materials is proving to be pretty difficult lol. Hopefully they come back in stock soon!
WOW! Super cool! Thank You!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I appreciate the support!
Oh wow- This looks so amazing.

100% going in my astro conversion for the ceiling strip
That would be epic!!!

Your place must look amazing when Christmas comes around
Lol I still want to get into a big led Christmas display outside but that is just a project that's on a whole other level that i'm not ready for. Maybe someday!
I was on that quest too, tired of not finding the best, so I made my own!
Lol that's awesome! I love that mentality. Cant find what you want/like so just have to figure out how to make it yourself! How did they turn out?!
Great! I’ve used silicone, epoxy, and acrylic in different lights. Putting 2 strips in a V-channel facing each other, but staggered one LED, makes a smooth blend too.
Hey Chris, love your content. Nicely shot as well. What will be the alternative to WLED to control the LEDs?
don't worry my baseboard LED will be on the market again soon 😜
i used these with some govee brand strips, it works perfect
That's awesome! What Govee led strips did you use? I didn't think they would look very good with this since they are generally only 30/leds per meter but sounds like it worked well for you!
ohhhhhhhhhh wow very nice find!!! my gears are turning!
My gears have been turning too! So many cool things you could make using this! Its a bummer its so expensive but I think the acrylic is the majority of the cost.
YOU Inspire me. GREAT IDEAS...Thank-You
Lol thanks buddy! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
@@ChrisMaherDIY anything to help your channel
a shame that the products featured are no longer available, would have been nice to try them out
Such a bummer! They said they are re-designing them and will be releasing them soon so here is to hoping that actually happens!
Thanks for your testing. Learn a lot.

Also if you reach out to BTF they will provide high density ws2811s in 5m rolls! Great ones to have on deck.

Amazing video man - from the topic, to the B-roll shots, to the overall composition of the video. You earned my sub, and this was the first video of yours I've seen 👍
I LOVE when I discover new _(to me)_ , high-quality channels like this one!
Thanks so much for watching and the kind words! I appreciate the support and glad you liked the video! Thanks buddy!
Hi Chris, only a recent follower but absolutely love what you do! I'm wanting to do a LED project myself and was wondering if you've ever managed to connect your LED projects to google home? I would love to have it all smart home enabled and it'd be even better if I can change effects through google also. Keep up the awesome work mate :D
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment! I have not yet connected any of the WLED projects to google home or Alexa but I'm pretty sure you can do it (at least I know you can with Alexa) Its definitely on my to do list for a video to get everything hooked up to Alexa or google home. But I recommend just searching on RUclips for WLED google home and see what comes up. I know a lot of videos pop up for WLED and Alexa.
I think these would be perfect for an address sign on my house although cut shorter thanks
They would be perfect for that!! Thanks for watching!
Hey dude I just found something that you might find interesting to use with LEDs at a pool store. 4ft edge foam that LEDs can pass under. RGB pool noodles too!
Nice!
Very cool. Thank for sharing. I am going to try to replicate this on my pool edge
You are very welcome and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment! That would look super cool!!!
Lit 🔥
Lol perfect! Thanks for watching and glad you liked the video!
Good content sir
Awesome
Thanks buddy!
WOW, what a find, that is an awesome effect, and immediately I am rethinking a part of my lounge, in particular the gap at the bottom of the cupboards, I was planning on just the strips stuck underneath shining down but this would look amazing, I would have to spray the aluminium black to fit in with the cupboards and although it would take away some of the reflecting I still think it would look better.
Hope your well 👍🏻
I know what your saying! If I saw this product earlies, I more than likely would have tried using it at the bottom of my board and batten accent wall design. Its fun to have options!! Thanks as always buddy and hope you have a great weekend!
@@ChrisMaherDIY
You too Chris,
This LED journey, I remember, as I imagine you do about 15 years ago when the very first strips became available, but they weren't the flat SMD sort they were small 3 or 5mm diodes on a 30 cm strip, and quite expensive!, but how far we've come, it makes you wonder what's in store for the future!,
I've had my eye on this particular product for a very long time but they are just way too expensive but I bet there's a certain someone who can diy them alot cheaper 😉😉
Yeah they are expensive! I think the bulk of the cost is in the acrylic. lol I for sure am going to have to try at some point!
@@ChrisMaherDIY how thick is the acrylic?

these are beautiful but it looks really expensive to get them in the UK :( great work as always my man
Yeah, its tough to find things that are available all across the world. I think Muzata is mainly selling in the US and Canada. Hopefully they will expand and make it more affordable in different countries because they really do have some awesome products!
Could to test to see if these fit ip65 or 68 waterproof strips? Really want to do these outdoors
You can put a little bit of knitting yarn or other string under the adhesive tape, slide it in and then just pull carefully on the rope and push on the LED strip from above with like a plastic card or something to get it to stick :]
Thanks so much for watching! That is a great idea! Thanks for taking the time to share!
Damn that red one looks like blood flowing thru water, what a cool effect.

Hey, love the videos. Thanks. I'm looking to set up a workbench in my basement. Do you think this diffuser set up could be used well as a ceiling light? All the demos show use in a black room which makes it hard to tell if this would be a good option for ceiling light.
great led strips! I do wish they were cheaper to use for larger projects..
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah they are not cheap. hopefully someone can come out with something similar for less!
Any1 tried making something like that with some sort of sandwich mirror, diffusion sheet + plexi? I would love to make some custom size ones
