Walter Koenig loved playing Bester. He will happily talk about his time on B5 as he was given a character who he could really get his teeth into. He was originally going to play one of the interrogators from "And the Sky Full of Stars" but he had a heart attack and couldn't do the episode. JMS offered him Bester and thankfully he was able to do it.
Indeed! I have heard him say this at conventions.
There are many characters in the series which are great. Bester is one of my favorites. Walter just plays him with such relish.
Just so you know after they made the episode A Spider in the Web they discovered that there was actually a table top role-playing game called Bureau 13. Because of that they never mentioned the name Bureau 13 on the show again.
The corps is mother, the corps is father. I know where my loyalties lie.
Bester is such a fun villain, you can tell how much the actor enjoys playing him 😁
Also, whenever you finish with Babylon 5, there are novelizations and the Psi Corps Trilogy are quite good. They were outlined by J.M.S and are canon to the B5 universe.
Franklin: I requisitioned it for medical purposes.
What, for when you have one of your patients stay in your quarters? Nothing unethical about that.
😥You cut out Ivanova's comment that Sheridan's wife was a saint.
I think the woman with the forced pregnancy was one of the ones that got through to Talia. That one hit pretty close to home if you consider the previous episode.
Bester is the bestest
I always think of him as the bestest. 😂
If only he could be besties

He's the magnificent Besterd.
He's rarely bested
It's a miracle Ivanova didn't kill Sheridan here. Specially after his jokes.
More Psi Corps.
Yes! Bester is such an interesting character, and Walter Koenig plays it pitch perfect.
aaaand Doctor Franklin is .... errr. was ... running an underground railway.
Be seeing you!
You are in for a hell of a ride. It's wheels within wheels.
Just a heads up, the number of the season is the number of episodes that Bester is in. 😊
When I was in the US navy living aboard ship they charged me $7 a month for my rack - one cot in a stack of three in a berthing along with thirty other stacks of three. Government gonna government.
Next episode is what I consider the "go nuts" episode. It's where the show, already good, finally loses its ability to slow down and just has banger episode after banger episode for almost three solid seasons. The show gets much better, by an order of magnitude.
I can hardly wait for you to experience it.
Be careful about setting expectations.
I've been watching your B5 reactions playlist and I realized this episode wasn't on it. You might add it.
For some reason this review is not in your playlist, it skips from episode 7 to episode 9
You're not ready for the next one.
