definitly one of my top favourite scenes as well i celebrated it when he got his wish and his look over the shoulder before he actually DOES wave the way he said he would. almost had tears in the eyes from laughing so hard
Not quite true, when he came back after Sherridan crashed the white start into the Shadow homeworld he was a very unhappy camper when he caught up with Londo. (He was still peeling at the time)
I love how the last scene in this video is when Sheridan’s wife gets killed. What was it like leaving the set after that scene: “Well we just achieved what has not been done in all of Television, killing Laura Ingalls Wilder.”
B5 was an incredible achievement in every way. With a limited budget the only compromise compared to more recent series was in set detail (CGI, groundbreaking at the time, holds up well and was completely adequate for the needs of the show even though not matching what is achieved today). Only one other series compares with story detail, arc and complexity, with character depth and with acting, directing and creative integrity and that is Fringe. B5 was and remains one of the great achievements of series television.
I'm really glad Ed Wasser got to play a really good role after he didn't get recast as the crewman on the Bridge. Also, we wouldn't have had Corwin if he had.
"You do not understand. But you will." was Kosh's response to Sheridan saying, "If the cost for this (having The Vorlons attack the Shadows directly) is your withholding support when I go to Za'hadoom, so be it." What he didn't understand was that the cost was actually Kosh's life. Kosh knew that if he did as Sheridan was asking that the Shadows would kill him, and he was scared. As Kosh himself said, "When you have lived as long as I have, you get used to it." ruclips.net/video/hnD1p4-8c5Y/видео.html
Superb mix! uploader. Bab5 among the best, e.g Farscape and Firefly some Doctor. It would have been cancelled after one season making it now. Glad they got to finish it. TV looking for next proper Space Opera. Ian Banks, pleeeeese
As I said before, Star Trek set the standard The sci fi knowledge and concepts that TOS established were the foundation for EVERYTHING that followed it Babylon 5 is a great show and I followed it during its original airing wherever it jumped to on TV I was and am saddened to learn of the death of many of the cast members, Biggs, Doyle, Andreas, O'Hare and I watch the show religiously
the part where they are talking to the latent programming in Lyta Alexander.... what episode is that from? I thought that it was from Thirdspace but I cannot seem to find it.
Anyone know where I can get B5 in its original 4:3 format? The one I have has been cropped into 16:9 - but see 4:3 should always stay 4:3, it's just not the same.
16:9 is the original format, it was cropped to 4:3 for TV. It was done that way deliberately. This is why the actors often seem crowded in the center in 16:9.
8:22 who controls the British crown, who keeps the metric system down? we do! we doo! who keeps atantis under wraps? who keeps the martians under wraps? we dooo!
As much as I hate to disagree with G'Kar/Andreas Katsulas, I have to, when he says that someone who does not bring a lantern learns nothing. One can learn a lot from being in the dark.
mtdewramen as the others say, buy the box, its way cheaper than star trek, as i bought it, it just arrived at the shops and was around 40€ per season, star trek for example is still more expansive! Dont forget the feature films! The complete collection is about 150$ or €
Let's see Star Trek match that! Cannot be done. I call B.S. It has all started with Star Trek in it's exploration of humanity and science. Also in all of its unique ways opening our minds to understanding the endless possibilities of existence. B5 just does a dam good job in continuing with that exploration.
Exactly. Without star trek, B5 never would have existed. And without B5, it's arguable that DS9 (the best star trek series, in my subjective opinion) also would have never left the ground. Both shows owe their best moments to each other and they BOTH ROCK.
Without Buck Rogers, Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Forbiden Planet, etc... Star Trek would not exist. So really, B5 owes to those far more then to Star Trek.
@@knotsnights6940 actually, it is not arguable. DS9 stole about 75% of its plot from JMS pitching B5 to the producers who basically laughed at hm about a scifi series set on a station then about 2yrs later, they premiere DS9 using a huge chunk of the plots JMS had shown them.
15;44 is that the pentagon years be for 9/11 being toll its going be done and who made this ? who put this in ? find them you found the men behind 9/11
"What is truth and what is god?" ... and then not understanding the explanation to repeat the question. Religious believers are annoying, because they dont bother "trying to understand" ... due to just following dogma.
Truth is the pain you get after you have put your face in a open book and the person holding it slams it shut with your face in it OUCH LOL and God is a lie because i dont believe there is such a thing.
Have you even listened to the words spoken? I'm an atheist myself, but this enlightened me in ways I could not imagine before. It put words where before there where only thoughts and opinions. Thank you, jms, for putting this in my absolute favourite series... I'm currently into my third complete collection, having burnt the previous two to an unwatchable grey mass by watching it so often over the last twenty years. There is so much wisdom to be gathered here, and the human condition was never better brought into the spotlight.
Vir's response to Morden at 11:00, is still one of my favorite scenes. I always thought it showed the depth and growth of character of Vir.
I know it's an old comment, but I never considered it a coincidence that "Vir" is Latin for a heroic man (also the root of "virtue").
@@thexalon Doesn't matter if it's an old comment, it's out in the public space so fell free to reply! Yes Vir was aptly named.
definitly one of my top favourite scenes as well

almost had tears in the eyes from laughing so hard
One of my favorite scenes.
It shows Vir isn't as clueless as he sometimes seems, he's just a truly good person.
some favors come with too high a price. one of my favorite scenes.
Andreas Katsulas, wow, so very powerful of an actor.
They're all amazing sadly why this series will never be remade because you could never find adequate replacements for so many amazing actors
An amazing series. Its got flaws yes, but overall its one of the best ever written.
I need these B5 nuggets of wisdom, the way I'm feeling tonight..
No Delenn "He is behind me, you are in front of me." 😣
The only time Mr. Morden did not have an evil grin on his face was when Londo blew the Shadow base and cut off his head.
Not quite true, when he came back after Sherridan crashed the white start into the Shadow homeworld he was a very unhappy camper when he caught up with Londo. (He was still peeling at the time)
Vir did unnerve him though...
I love how the last scene in this video is when Sheridan’s wife gets killed.
What was it like leaving the set after that scene: “Well we just achieved what has not been done in all of Television, killing Laura Ingalls Wilder.”
I loved this scene. It's like the scene in Batman where the gangsters ask the Joker, You think you can rob us and just walk away?" and hew says, "yes"
The Gkar scenes have the “Dragonheart” film ‘To the stars’ track playing, in which Sean Connery voiced the dragon. Epic soundtrack!!!
for me the best TV show, forward thinking in many ways, wonderfull actors !! thanks for remind me theses moments !

I wish they would make something like this again.. I miss Babylon 5.
The reason they used to tell children not to copy is lost their are no original ideas all they do now is copy others work sad state of affairs?
All the love 4 b5... straight from the heart
BEST SHOW EVER
This show needs either a continuation or reboot.
I would love that but who could write.
A reboot enhanced with more wisdom and clarity of sight and sound.
Impossible-it needs to be left to stand as it is.
that's right, listen to professor @@borusa32
16:10 That's one heck of a way to divorce someone. No alimony, no child support, no "she gets the house", ...
glad they included Vir's wish, hoped they would finish with that
I notice some parts of this are parts of a tribute to the actor who plays G'Kar I saw here on RUclips.
I've now seen 16 1/2 minutes of Babylon 5.
You havent even scratched the surface ... because the context to these clips is as important as the brilliant clips themselves.
way to go, a great compilation!

Some of the best conversations in television history.
Brilliant.
Let's see Star Trek Match that! Cannot be done. B5 is the best!
