Well... I had no idea about the power dynamic between Locus Walker & Xal'atath! What do you think is happening?
l'd laugh if it ends with the player being the cause instead of Alyria.
As a long-time shadow priest, I was a little disappointed at the lack of acknowledgement of my character's prior relationship to Xal'atath. Even if it was an extra dialogue option that only priests who completed the questline to get the dagger could see, that would've been cool.
You had no relationship, you were a manipulated tool
But you will get at least cool set from fist raid of TWW
I went through the whole questline with Shadow Priest and Xal'atath equiped. Nothing, not a single option anywhere, was really hoping to find something, especially since Blizzard did quite alot of this kind of stuff for a while.
@@theThaly Yeah it really feels like a missed opportunity, especially with how little effort it would've taken.
It's so rare for Blizzard to do this and it's a shame. Every expansion they act as if your character just dropped onto the face of the planet with no prior relationships :(
Locus-Walker Quotes are iteresting: ,,Yes, I do have a "real" name. It's none of your business.
Were I to speak it aloud, a thousand void portals would rip open and some very unpleasant entities would come looking to collect on old debts.
Here's a hint: it's an ancient word of power. If I whisper it in your ear, your mind will fall into madness. Still want to play?"
Hes the Jailer.😮
Yes, I want to play 😍
Tinfoil theory: Xal'atath isn't the Harbinger. Alleria is, or can/will be. Xal is there to push her in that direction, but it will be Alleria's decision in the end to find that balance or succumb to it.
I think Locus-Walker was the Harbinger of his old world.
maybe they are the same
This is stupid.
Honestly think it may come down to a rivalry/race between them. The whispers WILL come true one way or another... but will it be on our terms or hers? Who the Harbinger is could affect what follows. So, maybe better if Alleria accepts and actively seeks to be it, before Xalatath fully takes up that role.
doesn't really matter. it's all the jailers planning anyways. thanks shadowlands...
Locus-Walker is Nexus-King Salhadaar... He died in Netherstorm, but is said about the old rulling class of K'aresh, the Ethereum, which he leads, that they took any means necessary in fighting Dimensius, even transforming themselves in creatures of the Void. So after he died, maybe because he was transformed into a void creature before, he returned to the Void and was reborn because he didn't die in the Void.
Alleria absorbed a Naaru, in it's void state. Yet they have two states, Light & Void. Alleria is "Unbalanaced" & must master her Unique nature
Could be something, could be nothing 🤷♂
I feel like it would be more interesting is Locus Walker was a similar person to Alleria on K'aresh. He tried to save it from its fate and failed and now sees an opportunity to guide her into keeping Azeroth from that same fate.
Nah, sounds to boring.
The knowledge he knows. I doubt it. He definitely had something to do with the ending of his home planet.
I have a feeling that locus walker is a void lord who wishes for balance and he takes a more comprehensible form to help us towards that goal similar to how that xel'naga used tasadar's form in sc2
Could make sense. Given that they've hammered over our heads that Light and the other cosmic forces are all on a gray scale, so having a Void faction on our side is certainly plausible.
Definitely a sit back and pay attention when he told Xal to go and she obeyed.
The xal'atath part made me suspicious of that theory
Probably most happy for the fact that this stuff is in game instead of in a book. At least now I don't have to do outside research just to know what is happening between the end of one expansion and the start of another.
Watching this makes me wonder, we have always assumed the void lords are a single unified force but its been proven throughout the other expansions of wow the forces of the cosmos are rarely unified in purpose. What if the locus-walker represents a void lord that does not agree with the others?
whatever happens, it's the jailers planning anyways.
They stepped up the in game cinematics
Quality Is probably the best take away
Void whispers on Alleria's short story: "Embrace your true nature"
Locus-Walker: "Embrace your true nature"
Probably just a funny coincidence.
Yeah, the moment he says she has to let go of her fear of harming her family, is super werid. Does he want her to actually harm her family, because otherwise it is such a bizarre thing to say.
@@bfedezl2018 I think her fear of that harm makes her vulnerable and he is all about the control. I think he is what she is heading toward or was for his own world, She has to walk this route which is why he has guided her down the path it's the choice at the end he is preparing her for.
I *really* loved the facial expressions. The cinematics have come so far lately. Great stuff
I’ve always envisioned Locus Walker being the embodiment of K’Resh, once it fell to the void. Essentially, now, a Void Titan- taking the form of something identifiable with its dominant species
Man, I don’t know why, but this new direction they are going in with the story just feels right. Makes me remember to good ‘ole days of reading Know Your Lore: Tinfoil Hat Edition.
i would like this types of quests to be like the suramar 7.1 campaign leading to nighthold, where you had a series of weekly quest that had time to set up the events of the raid
They stopped doing that because people (including Bellular) complained about "timegating."
"Very short questline" bro this video took longer
How do I hold all these re-used assets???
Well yeah 😂 he’s got a put 3:00 of ads in here
to be honest it was only short if you ran through it, i spent quite a bit of time checking out all the extra chars put in.
Tbf you checking the environment 10h doesn't make the quest longer.
@Kross415 you people expect 10 hours from a patch like this? It's not even pre-patch.
I wish we got Ethereals playable, but with Void Elves filling the *void* I don’t think it’s possible anymore.
Yeah, its not like there are any duplicate races.
@@defe1337 Yeah, why tf not? Go crazy with lots more customization.
Horde got no void elves hrhr
@@defe1337 are you implying we are getting another void race, after getting Locus Walker and his gang as primary racial players for the void elves? Lmao
I would loveee more neutral races like pandas and the new earthen. I wish void elves were neutral 😢
it could also be that alleria is a potential threat and the void is trying to weaken her mind so she is less of a threat
there is also the chance that the void aint a monolith and locus walker might be part of one faction vs dimensius faction
Yep, what very few people ever mention...... is that Alleria absorbed a void revenant "before" she absorbed L'ura. It was named Nhal'athoth. And she literally consumed his heart; which is what gave her the power to absorb L'ura. You can tell by her facial expression in that later cutscene at the end of the triumvirate dungeon that she wasn't expecting L'ura to fly into her like that. And Locus-Walker said to her after consuming Nhal'athoth's heart..... "as long as your mind is your own, this power will be yours to control" .....which directly suggests if she ever gets temporarily mind controlled or anything happens to her family to make her emotionally distracted..... poof, that void power does what it wants and not what she wants. Therefore both Locus-Walker and Xal'atath could be manipulating Alleria to get her in a place at a time when she can be distracted.... to activate that power.
Im calling it: Azeroth will come to life as the only truly ''balanced'' entity in the universe, using both light and shadow with equal facility and in combination, Alleria will teach/be the source Azeroth use of void. That balance being the key to fend of the void and temper the lights zeal, life-lessons ensue, ying yang, our darkness when tempered by the light is transformed into a new kind of strength, Illidan makes a dynamic entry, friendship is magic blablabla
My bet is on Locus Walker being Void Lord Dementius; perhaps taking the form and persona of a figure from a world he destroyed, his allegiance and intentions being unclear since something changed in him causing regret over his past as an all consuming force.
The Locus-Walker is probably a balanced void lord. There is some quotes in game that indicates that its existence, beginning to its very name that we don't know, is "god like".
When Locus-Walker is pissed after you clicked on it too many times, it says this :
"Here's a hint: it's an ancient word of power. If I whisper it in your ear, your mind will fall into madness. Still want to play?"
"Were I to speak it aloud [its name], a thousand void portals would rip open and some very unpleasant entities would come looking to collect on old debts."
It also knows very well the mentality of the Void toward Light, meaning its well-placed to understand it and maybe old enough to be at least a witness of the war between Void and Light.
At the hour of her third death:
Once when Draenor exploded.
Once when L'ura merged with her.
And one yet to come.
Holy crap your right
N'zoth literally had us fight Alleria back in the stormwind horrific vision. People's memmory is too short. Also iam just gonna go ahead and say it. NO other raid boss makes any sense for concluding TWW. Not the nerubians, not a made up voidlord, and neither some faceless monster makes any sense. Alleria makes all the sense, and it would be perfect to lead us into midnight.
@@The86Ripper Oh I hope not! But it would really make perfect sense D-:
Guess so since we thought Turylon or Anduin was the king who sits on the golden throne but then they introduced the Light Emperor. XD
My prediction for this is Blizz will take the position that all of the cosmic forces themselves are neutral, only certain elements within them are evil.
We saw that most of the Pantheon of Death were neutral forces simply doing their cosmic job.
Blizz has been setting up doubts about the Titans being questionable. I won’t be surprised if Sargeras is somehow redeemed or Illidan (being promoted to god-tier) are put in place to keep the forces of Fel in line.
Arator will obviously be used somehow to balance light and void.
I think this is Blizzard’s design. It’s going to be about keeping the cosmic forces in balance to keep Azeroth safe.
It is interesting that Locus Walker and Xal'atath do seem on similar power levels. Maybe they each serve a different void lord that are antagonistic to each other (i.e. Locus Walker serves a void lord that is all about controlled power, and Xal'atath serves Dimensius who is all about consumption).
Something is going on with Kadghar. He was reluctant to tell Alleria how he was.
I loved the questline that look 30 seconds.
I like this idea or quests before the expansion leading to the expansion storyline. Guild wars and final fantasy do it and it'll just produce better story
Stop comparing the crap games with wow
@@user-ku1ze8ch2t woah dude calm down. I think wow is way better than them but something they r praised for is story so I think quests leading into the next expansion are a good add in
I would be super interested in a video on Alleria and how the void elves came to be. Cause I don’t remember any of this, also whatever happened during the questline for the allied race, or in the void elve starting zone feels like it could be relevant
I need them playable ethereals, dawg. Locus Walker is rad.
Calling it right now, Locust-Walker is the Nexus King
In Grim Batol theres a spot before the last boss where it looks like its meant to be another direction but is closed off by a gate or something. Ever since i saw it i wondered if it would be something.. i bet they will use it in war within
I think I enjoyed watching your video on the quest line more than I did doing the quest line.
Windrunners seem to always get screwed one way or another.
im callin it now, they're doin their version of X-men's Dark Phoenix. Shes gonna learn this amazing power for the void, only to turn around last minute and become good. mark my words.
Kinda cool that you have beat the Mage tower for the neon blue skin lol boss and adds was easy , but the boulders is what I had trouble with. Lol wish we could share the mob tags on the memory quest .
Locus-Walker is big sus. And I am really curious any other Ephemeral's hands were like that. Strong Dreadlord vibes
I think Xal’alath is pawn or soldier of Locus walker because she obeys his order as he says. Locus Walker is mastermind all other figures are pawn’s pawn and Locus Walker is mastermind of all, he would betray I think after he turned Aleria Windrunner as his pawn like Xal’alath. And Kaz’algar dwarf models are similar with earthen dwarf models in Vanilla and earthen dwarfs would be migrated Landscape of Kaz’algar after Uldaman destroyed as Archademas died. Remaining ones built population on Kaz’algar as well and Magni was like them I think
He is Nexus-King Salhadaar!
That was my thought
I really dig the void music^^
Locust Walker is definetly the same ethereal that summoned Dimensius onto his homeworld and in stead of Xal'atath, it's going to be Alleria that will end up causing the shit leading us into Midnight
What if Locust Walker is what happens when the void dominates a world soul? The Olds Gods, as an extension of the Void Lords, have always been devious and had plots within plots within plots. Locust Walker could just be trying to get Alleria to serve the Void Lords plans. TWW could be setting up Locust Walker to be the big baddy in Midnight.
I would be pretty disappointed if Locus Walker, who so far has been emblematic of "temperance and control of the void" turned out to be secretly evil. It's a lot better when our shadow priests and warlocks and void elves are all tangling with a dangerous force that they're ultimately balancing, rather than all being led on and tricked by the most obvious possible evil thing. It also just fits better in understanding the world as not split into these good/evil dichotomies. I imagine (and indeed hope) that he has done some Bad Stuff in the past, and if anything that would make his character now, as a voice of reason, more compelling. I especially liked his dialogue with Alleria at the end of Dark Heart, where it really sounds like he's trying to help her. Alleria is torn up inside about her dangerous she feels to her family, is actively isolating herself and it's hurting her, and Locus Walker is trying to help her trust in herself and believe that she is safe to be around, that she can go and have a family and be happy. It rings true for how best you deal with actual intrusive thoughts in actual real life mental health. It would be a shame if the story undermined all that.
Is Xal'atath an agent of Locus-Walker in the same way Xan-sallish was for Shadreen perhaps?
Yeah locus walker definitely knows who and what xalatath is. He even laughs when he says.. the harbinger.. that is what she is calling herself now. I'm surprised xalatath doesn't say anything about maybe we should do more than just trust people at their word and find out who they are before we invite them into our alliances.
I love allerias void form, I think she’s cooler in it. I was excited and then disappointed that the void elves didn’t look like she does in that form.
I'm curious why that Dark Heart quest chain which we did on patch day has Khadgar mentioning that "everybody" who heard the voice so far describes it as Light and Benevolence. But Khadgar just sort of ignores that and starts blabbering about what the voice could be. Helllloooooo.....? Why didn't Khadgar go ask the Priests of the world if they know what Light and Benevolence connection the voice could have? Where are the Priests anyway?
The humanoid nerubians whould imo be there version of the zerglin before the evolve to the higher nerubian forms.
I just can't get over that he somehow resembles a dreadlord-ish.. and that he has an eye that resembles the eye of n'zoth on his crown thing, where his third eye seems to be.
Anyone notice that Locus-Walker’s shoulder pads are similar to Xal’atath’s?
That's just void fashion
bro they gotta stop messing with the windrunners... can we just have sylvanas save her sister whenever the time comes and have them all be reunited and united against this void BS?
No, let's leave Sylvanas out of it.
It's obvious now, Locus Walker is a Dreadlord.
I have always held the opinion that Xal'atath isn't actually an enemy. At least not in the sense that we usually have enemies.
I never really bought the idea that she was imprisoned by the other old gods and she's just fine with that. No vengeance? No nothing? Just continuing with the plan?
I am probably totally off -- and honestly, it is probably because I have a knaifu bias and want her to be not a big bad -- but I really do think she's plotting.. but not against us.
Use a spoon for peeling ginger my man!
Short but sweet quest. Love this void/lovecraftian stuff over the anemic dragon stuff
Aleria is a Harbinger and Locus Walker is Dementius , he train her personally and Xal'atath is ther to push her over edge :) . or not :)
God i hooe we finally get ethereals as a playable race in midnight
Butterflies are pollinators.
See guys, we just needed to get Cris back.
Your haircut looks great!!
Am i too early for the bots this time
Locus walker seem to be odd cuz xalathat withdrew suddenly when he challenged her
now that's how you build up a villain with a master plan. Not like that shitty jailer
So there's a " butterfly effect " coming
What if Xal'atath was or is an Etherial???
What if Locus Walker is K'Resh or whats left?
Xalatath is time travelling Alleria
Where is sod on the wow timeline since retails new antagonist is supposedly the same lady I learn all the crafting crap from?
I believe the idea behind SoD is we're seeing things that did happen and we're only just learning about or something along them lines
Does the walker fellow wake up and put the helmet on or do you think he wears it to sleep?
I don't think he has slept in a while...
Locust walker is Mephistopheles!!
Mephistroth in the game tho.
I feel like since this questline is centered around dalaran and dalaran is supposed to be destroyed in the world within then how come we’re not doing legion remix instead of Pandaria? Cause I mean that would make a lot more sense but blizzard can never make sense in anything they do can they?
What if locustwalker was the king of the etherials
It's kind of incredible how much better the War Within storytelling has been compared to the frankly painfully lukewarm storytelling that's been prevalent since... Honestly I feel like it's been an onset since Warlords. War Within feels like storytelling prowess on the level of WC3, frankly, and I am all for that.
Code only works in US?
I think locus is Xal.
The Alleria short story hammered on the fact she did not want to cause a void eruption in the sunwell. I think this is important. I dont think she willbea villain, I think she will unwittingly eff up (edited cause youtube doesnt like profanity)
I hope we end up aligning with the void lords
Locus-Walker may not have authority over her. But enough power to be a headache and this not worth her time dealing with.
I do think this 'authority' thing is rather thin. The scene also read to me as if he's just powerful enough to not be worth the effort of further conflict right now for Xalatath rather than him ordering her to leave.
I believe Xal'atath was an old god or at least a higher being made entirely from the void. I remember she referred to them as her brothers back in Legion when she spoke of how the Titan-forged thought themselves uncorruptable. However, she was also favoured by Dimensius, so how did she end up locked inside a dagger? Did Dimensius punished her over some failure and remade the staff he gave her into a dagger and imprisioned her there? So many questions! But as a shadow priest main ever since I started playing WoW, I'm more interested in how priests were back then in the time of the Black Empire and their advancements. Also, what the hell happened to K'aresh's worldsoul?
She seems more like a void revenant to me. Same as Nhal'athoth on Argus, and Xal'atoh, and Xhul'horac, etc. She never called herself an old god, but since the old gods occasionally serve the void lords, she could casually refer to them as brethren... or "us" or "we" and it would leave open the option for her to feel bitter and resentful against the old gods for how they treated her also.
She might have been imprisoned by another void lord that was fighting with Dimensius
@@corksterx1 No.... she definitely had a whisper where she confessed some bitterness and resentment against the local old gods on azeroth for "what they did to her" ... i.e. trapping her in that blade.
I'm a Xal'atath shadow priest simp. Ever since she started whispering in my ear.
Calling it now, via time manipulation Alleria is xal'atath. Just a matter of time before Alleria figures it out most likely too late.
Excellent video mate! have you ever thought of Xalatath being Alleria from an alternate time line, the scene in which she is holding the amulet and turns around made me think about it!
Or..Xal'atath is fearful/respectful of Locus Walker because he might be more powerful than her, at least for now.
Norgannon is going to have something to do with this. Watch.
Don't forget to cite references, Pyromancer adept.
Alleria is the OG!
Locus-Walker was the Alleria of his world, calling it now.
That's what I'm thinking.
This trope of a character trying to control other worldly powers they don’t totally understand is a bit over done I think. Feels very similar to Tyrande in shadowlands.
Girl Boss Story and Girl Boss Story
Begun. Not began. Grammar.
Dude this thing about having so much authority. Harbinger... Essentially "messenger" a herald. It's just the word bringer. In actuality Xalatath isn't very strong. Just cunning. It's more a case of why exert strength when you got clean cut precision.
Locus Walker probably is way stronger and sharp enough to not be outwitted. Xalatath knows he's a bigger dog.
Get yourself some wooden/plastic cooking spoons. That is not a dish for a flipper.
Alleria and Xal'atath are the same person. Boom. Ur welcome.
watched the entire video, what was it that you didnt expect? what was the gamechanger? we knew everything about this already
Windrunner being key to enemy plans...doesn't ring a bell
TPAB?
Nice
windrunner family main character of warcraft
My theory is that we’re gonna win
I lost count of the number of times Alleria says "Dak Haut".
Lore that means NOTHING in game that no one cares about any longer........
