Welcome back Mally, sorry if i hounded you.. Starmers actions against Corbyn and the party,s stance with Ukraine and in particular the seemingly support for the genocide in Gazza left me disillusioned since first voting Labour at the 1979 election, but i held my nose and voted Labour yesterday as i always have. Martyns "Sweet little mystery" is one the best songs ever written by anyone... Take care Mally..

John Martyn's key works were in the '70s but his '80s output was under-rated. Glorious Fool (1981) was one of his best. John Mayall never made a bad album over a long career. After the essential albums with Clapton, Peter Green, and Mick Taylor; I think his most interesting work was the half-dozen or so records he made with his acoustic American band around the turn of the decade. The Turning Point was I think the first of them (?). Some beautiful stuff. Looking forward to the 'attic collection'.Thanks Mal.

John mayals album The blues alone.is one of my favs,a tribute to sonny boy williamson i think.worth checking out. Good to have you back,i have been watching andy Edwards on you tube ,very entertaining, loves some folk, prog ,and jazz. Loves doing top 10 lists to catch viewers attention. Might be a way to go for you Monkey. THANKS for all your vids.Mick.

Cheers Mick. Yer I also enjoy Andy Edward's channel. He's on another level re experience, knowledge and information. He does try to be provocative to get clicks-for example he called out Van's Astral Weeks as 'the worst album ever made'! I also have done quite a few top 10s in the past. I did all the years 1966-1980 and then quite a few artists where I had enough of their catalogue (Zeppelin, former Beatles, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, Tom Waits, T. rex, Tull, Groundhogs, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and a few more. I have a couple more I could do, but I need a lot of listening time to decide my order of preference. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment-Malcolm

I just bought a turntable after 20 years to sample the remnants of my old collection. 12" promo of 'Hope the Weather Stays Fine' by The Dylans (1990-ish) was good to play again, such a cool Hammond sound. Some I thought I still had are gone, so had to buy again the 12" single of 'Rich & Strange' (1992) by Sheffield band CUD purely for the added track 'Do It Again' which still sounds glorious: I can't get enough of that track.

Cheers 4-dman. You'll be cursed now with spending most of the rest of your life rooting round second hand record stores:(. I've never come across CUD before-I'll have to look em up

The Mayall album is ace, check out 'Bare Wires' which is also impressive. The England football term just shade it, but not much at Glastonbury held my attention. As for the appeal of Coldplay, a mystery .
At least Labour won a landslide and bunch of those vile Tories lost their seats

Nothing more dismal than watching the England football team or corporate Glastonbury. Just play your old vinyl and remember when music and football really meant something to us all. The days before money and cynicism ruined our national game and the music of the people.
