Progressive Host Sam Seder Reveals Patrick Bet David's Scams

  • Published on Feb 12, 2026
  • Sam Seder joined Patrick Bet-David's Valuetainment podcast for a spirited discussion on income inequality and tax policy. Seder’s well-researched arguments left Patrick and his co-hosts-Vincent Oshana and Adam Sosnick-scrambling to keep up, as their pro-capitalist views clashed with Seder’s progressive perspective.
    Patrick Bet-David, a staunch conservative and vocal defender of capitalism, pushed back strongly, but Sam Seder came prepared with facts and data to counter every point. The debate is both enlightening and entertaining, as Seder methodically takes apart their arguments with clarity and wit.
    This lively exchange is a must-watch for anyone interested in seeing a battle of ideologies play out, with Sam Seder holding his own against the Valuetainment crew.

    3. NOT EVERYONE WILL BE RICH
    4. Taking care of people once they've gotten older is NOT a cost-analysis exercise, it's the MORALLY RIGHT thing to do

      Sam hearts is in the right place but social security is class struggle you are taxing a younger generation to pay for elderly people who generally are financially better off then some one starting out in life. in addition social security is bankrupt. Safety nets need to be at the local level according to the needs and ability of the community.

    • @mobiusbelts3607

    • @HeplMeh
      @HeplMeh Year ago +14

      It's our money to begin with that we pay in. We are ENTITLED to it because it's ours. PERIOD!
      A entitlement is basically a right. We have a right to our own money the Government told us it was saving for us to be returned in our later years for our retirement.
      We have no rights to a Tax Cut, that is absurd. The only way you could argue that a tax cut is an entitlement is via semantics. Being that tax policy is signed into law or a contract, that technically makes it a right, although most would argue that our real "Rights," are things that can not ever be revoked or changed, if it is, it was never a right to begin with, it was a simply a temporary privilege.

    • @DJmassie97
      @DJmassie97 Year ago

      @HeplMeh math doesn’t care about what you think you have a right to. The reality is the government confiscated your money and put it in a program headed for bankruptcy. Unless we drastically slash government spending, social security won’t exist in the future.

      @arteche4045 . No. The U.S. Census Bureau states the median income for U.S. families is $74,580. In Canada, the median income stood at 68,400, as per the latest report. Taxes differentiate the two countries; U.S. federal income tax brackets range from 10% to 37% for individuals; in Canada, tax rates are between 15% and 33%. However, in the U.S., singles earning over $44,725 annually face a 22% tax rate, whereas Canadian singles earning less than $53,359 only pay 15% in taxes.

    Health Insurance is a scam. In countries where it is mandatory, the premiums go up every year, the coverage of care items decrease and the re-investment into R&D of drugs or, treatment is secondary (at best) to share/stake -holder return.
    State owned health services are not just better at point of service, but are cheaper, contribute to the local economy and can guarantee lower prices for drugs while managing R&D, specific to population requirements.
    Privatisation in healthcare was sold as a driver of lower cost and more choice. Neither of these claims has been borne out by the reality of private healthcare or, private health insurance.

    To clarify this and make things simple, Patrick Bet-David's philosophy on Life is it's a "Zero-Sum Game". To him, you're either rich or you're worthless. He only sees you as whether you're an asset or a cost... he doesn't see you for your non-tangible contributions to society, to Humanity, to your loved ones and those who you care about. He only sees you in dollars and cents and how much it's going to cost HIM for your existence.

Make me an investment for a big return from her money. No that’s not capitalism. He sees his method of BS in where he wins out more than you, is just another form of capitalism. The conversation in good faith at all. Guys like him would be for a social policy when they have no money, but the minute they become rich is when they are against those policies. And wants a ladder, kick it for others, then become Republicans and our beautiful policies that benefit people who are rich. That’s the game he’s playing. It’s I’ll just a con game. Do and say anything in where I can make more money for myself and do and say anything weird I can make others have less money. Why? Because they are my competition. A socialism for rich bad faith arguing ladder kicker. The only way to get through to a guy like that is for them to feel what you’re going through. That’s how they calculate right or wrong. How things only affect me at the given moment.

    I think its interesting the tone he used when he called them entitlements.. • @luysteraar
      @luysteraar Year ago +1

      @malgron If we don’t take subsidies but our competitors do, then we put ourselves in a competitive disadvantage and we have a higher risk of losing our business. It would be better if they were not available to anyone and we didn’t have to pay taxes that fuel those subsidies. The government involvement isn’t capitalism, that’s corrupt capitalism.

    • @robertdixon1518
      @robertdixon1518 Year ago +1

      @luysteraarso your argument is to get rid of these "entitlement programs" ... Do you realize that SSI was put into place to help the common people, but because rich people refuse to pay their fair share, so they convince the lower people that these things are bad so they don't have to pay their fair share... You are genuinely arguing on behalf of the people that have created this short fall.

    • @luysteraar
      @luysteraar Year ago +1

      @robertdixon1518 The tax system already has progressive rates, with the wealthy being taxed more than others. A wealthy individual does not utilize public goods and services more than anyone else, yet they bear a higher cost. In a supermarket, the price of a bottle of water is the same for everyone, which is fair. The government, however, taxes the wealthy the most and still calls it insufficient, suggesting it would be better if it were even more unequal. Many people need support, but instead of being taxed by the government to create programs, it might be more effective for citizens to support one another directly without government intervention, allowing the assistance to feel more personal and impactful.

    PDB sites $600 hammers as producing less value. What he doesn't mention is private corporations charged the government those inflated costs. When government officials get caught paying out this kind of money to their cronies, it's correctly called corruption, but when private industry charges these kinds of prices, it's called a "profit" or "what the market will bear", and never corruption. Corruption exists on both sides for the $600 hammers to exist.

    I was in the military for 20 years and have worked as a contractor for the government for the last 10 years. My wife works in civil service for one of the department agencies. The biggest complaint I have is that the government is so inefficient and they do not care about trying to do things better. If there is a problem in the government, there is no incentive to fix or improve the process. We either hire more people (who want to work remotely), throw more money at the problem (which is wasted), or ignore the problem. At least in a business, you can complain about the process and the business has an incentive to improve the situation or else you can go somewhere else. Competition improves customer service and quality, but there are no competitors to the government, so they have no incentive to improve.

    • @donshults7772

      It's not the government that's inefficient; it's the morons who so often get elected and then appoint cronies and incompetents to positions to administer these programs. This then triggers a counter position by opposition to stop the administrators from doing their jobs.

At the same time tho we should have free healthcare and if I made 100k salary and my taxes went up 3-5k a year to support it, that’s fine. In short, it’s an American mindset problem that will require a shift in what we think is a necessity for everyone.
