At the core the Americans do not care about their friends, neighbours, fellow citizens at large. Me me me.... Lack of access to health care is the largest source of bankruptcy in the US. I say again the largest source of bankruptcy... You don't need it until you need it. Imagine deciding to leave wounded soldiers on the battlefield because of fuel costs for a bird. Unspeakable of course. This, though not as gross and overt, I would argue is the same thing..
You're wrong about privatizing. Privatizing absolutely makes things more efficient and cost effective. Goverment doesn't have to suffer the consequences of inefficiency because they can just borrow money or print it. They can waste as much as they want.
Health Insurance is a scam. In countries where it is mandatory, the premiums go up every year, the coverage of care items decrease and the re-investment into R&D of drugs or, treatment is secondary (at best) to share/stake -holder return. State owned health services are not just better at point of service, but are cheaper, contribute to the local economy and can guarantee lower prices for drugs while managing R&D, specific to population requirements. Privatisation in healthcare was sold as a driver of lower cost and more choice. Neither of these claims has been borne out by the reality of private healthcare or, private health insurance.

The government, however, taxes the wealthy the most and still calls it insufficient, suggesting it would be better if it were even more unequal. PDB sites $600 hammers as producing less value. What he doesn't mention is private corporations charged the government those inflated costs. When government officials get caught paying out this kind of money to their cronies, it's correctly called corruption, but when private industry charges these kinds of prices, it's called a "profit" or "what the market will bear", and never corruption. Corruption exists on both sides for the $600 hammers to exist.

I was in the military for 20 years and have worked as a contractor for the government for the last 10 years. My wife works in civil service for one of the department agencies. The biggest complaint I have is that the government is so inefficient and they do not care about trying to do things better. If there is a problem in the government, there is no incentive to fix or improve the process. We either hire more people (who want to work remotely), throw more money at the problem (which is wasted), or ignore the problem. At least in a business, you can complain about the process and the business has an incentive to improve the situation or else you can go somewhere else. Competition improves customer service and quality, but there are no competitors to the government, so they have no incentive to improve.
It's not the government that's inefficient; it's the morons who so often get elected and then appoint cronies and incompetents to positions to administer these programs. This then triggers a counter position by opposition to stop the administrators from doing their jobs.
@brianj.4890 the reason why competition works is because there are no monopolies when there is competition. The reason competition is eliminated in the USA is because nobody has enforced anti trust and also encouraged mergers of giant companies into behemoths

Well said. People seem to forget that most of us earned our "entitlement"!

@@robertdixon1518 The tax system already has progressive rates, with the wealthy being taxed more than others. A wealthy individual does not utilize public goods and services more than anyone else, yet they bear a higher cost. In a supermarket, the price of a bottle of water is the same for everyone, which is fair. The government, however, taxes the wealthy the most and still calls it insufficient, suggesting it would be better if it were even more unequal. Many people need support, but instead of being taxed by the government to create programs, it might be more effective for citizens to support one another directly without government intervention, allowing the assistance to feel more personal and impactful.

To clarify this and make things simple, Patrick Bet-David's philosophy on Life is it's a "Zero-Sum Game". To him, you're either rich or you're worthless. He only sees you as whether you're an asset or a cost... he doesn't see you for your non-tangible contributions to society, to Humanity, to your loved ones and those who you care about. He only sees you in dollars and cents and how much it's going to cost HIM for your existence.
PBD tries so hard to sound “intellectual” and fails so badly, I almost feel dad for him, but I don’t
PBD is a conman. The guy is scum and all he does is chase fame and pretend he's some tough guy. He came from wealth and started a multi level marketing company. Have you ever heard of one that wasn't a scam taking advantage of employees seeking a false dream or ripping off customers?
So glad Sam came on to push back on these clowns.
The tax breaks for the rich that's not entitlement
These aren't entitlements. I paid into them for the last 44 years. It's not a gift.
If im paying out of my check for a service that im going yo use later in my life, why isn't that an investment? If employers are paying, why isn't that considered part of the Employer compensation package?
Because itd justified as a capitalist, narrative and defeat his giving free stuff away welfare hand out narrative. Things work out the way where he gets more, that’s when it’s true capitalism. The conversation in good faith at all. Guys like him would be for a social policy when they have no money, but the minute they become rich is when they are against those policies. And wants a ladder, kick it for others, then become Republicans and our beautiful policies that benefit people who are rich. That’s the game he’s playing. It’s I’ll just a con game. Do and say anything in where I can make more money for myself and do and say anything weird I can make others have less money. Why? Because they are my competition. We have public and private healthcare in Ontario. I can unequivocally state that public healthcare is more efficient, and it targets your needs rather than recommending a bunch of stuff you don't need to pad a bottom line. Completely unethical.
"Entitlement Taxes breaks" every time I mention corps.
We made a promise when we enacted social security, people have paid into it all their lives and the answer is not privitization.
Competition does not fix any of it. It eventually makes everything worse once monopolies are formed. Bad take dude.
@brianj.4890 the reason why competition works is because there are no monopolies when there is competition. The reason competition is eliminated in the USA is because nobody has enforced anti trust and also encouraged mergers of giant companies into behemoths
@ this is pretty flawed logic. Its theory that doesn’t match reality. Either way, republicans and corporate Dems bought and paid for by moneyed interests stifle any meaningful enforcement of anti trust laws. Capitalism breeds monopolies. Always has.
