It was very smart decision on the parents side to introduce the baby this way. Very carefully so that they understand the importance of being gentle around the baby.
@JimmyJr1968 yes, but they are right. A dog is an animal, very strong and here, very big. An accident can happen so quick. They are careful about yhe baby wich is very important. Don't let your dog being too close from your baby when he's so young
That would be *my* reaction as a cat. 😀 "What the holy h3ll is *this?* I had a nice setup with two well behaved dogs, and you bring a kid into my house. 😒"
Niko has this motherly instinct. She loves her sister, but she's so careful with her...not touching Amelia's face....just sniffing her gently. Phil is so excited, and understands that this is the new member of the clan he has to protect.
@@AM-fh7ek Very true, and it's obvious how well socialized the dogs are and how well they know the rules. You can see how excited they are at seeing the baby, but they both know they have to keep themselves calm, and they do.
So many people decide that their dogs must go, when they have a baby, as a person that worked in dog rescue for years, I saw this all of the time, it is heartbreaking. I can't find a word to describe how happy it makes me, that you have just had a baby, and you are including your dogs and getting them adjusted to her. I wish all dogs could be so lucky, to have their love and devotion returned to them that way. Congrats on your new baby. And thanks for sharing your family. This made my day. ETA: Also, to anyone that thinks that Phil is fat, he is most certainly not fat. He is very fluffy, he is possibly big boned, and the camera adds 20 pounds, and not to be critical, but the camera angles are not always aimed to highlight the skinny.😉
Really??? People leave their dogs when new baby arrives??? Isnt stupid?? Its like you leaving one baby to care for another baby. You raised your dogs since puppies now leave them. I cant understand that.
Thank you for that comment, the sad thing is it happens so often. The poor dogs all happy and loved the next day shaken and shivering in strange noises place lying on a cold cement slap for a few days. We pray they all make it out to a new family but the truth is the majority of them don't.😢😢😢. I keep wondering how my beautiful big American bulldog ended up in the Miami Dade slaughter house, I thank God every day that I happen to see her lying on a nasty cold cement slab and was able to have people contact a rescue to pull her so I could foster her. That was 4yrs ago and she is actually still by my side where she will always be until her last breath.💜💜
it’s astounding to me how gentle they are with her. they instantly understood that she was something to be calm and quiet around. they r gonna be crazy about her lol

@@viriotie Appreciate your love for cats, but just to follow up on your comment. It's really because not all cats are created (literally) equal. The type of cat you describe (found in a tail pipe etc) #1- likely doesn't have a very good domesticated pedigree and #2- likely is traumatized for life from it's early ages (before you found it). This is the main difference i see in cat and dog 'owners', they go and spend HUNDREDS on a dog, but their cat is a 'rescue'. I'm all for rescues, etc, but they are most likely broken for life. There are HUNDREDS of dollar cat breeds (or even $50 breeds). You will see a HUGE difference in their behavior!
roddy 57 i know that now! Hahaha I have a cat who is the most nonchalant cat I’ve ever met. She’s chill and loves belly rubs! I understand now the circumstances that we found my first cat under made him act that way, he was a feral and he acted like one. we quickly learned he was an outdoor cat, and showed him with love for as long as we had him. I got love for even the craziest of cats!
roddy 57 the cat I have now was given to me by my best friend, and I knew her since she was a kitten. a beautiful long haired cat, I couldn’t have asked for a better fur baby. thank you for the suggestions though❤️
@@viriotie All my cats have been rescues, and they have always been loving. Ferals are not meant to be rescue cats but they are not "broken." They simply won't acclimate to life as a housepet because of the nature of the feral. My sister's gazillion-dollar cat is demon posseseed while my 3 rescues have never attacked an ankle!
I don't think I have ever seen anything more sweet in my life. I keep replaying this video. You are very good parents. You have done a wonderful job introducing your dogs and cat to your daughter.
Phil's interaction was so precious. Be totally gets what's going on. I've never seen him communicate or convey such a state of awareness as he does here. It's obvious he's excited too with the new addition to the family. Probably thinks great, two more paws to pet me and pay me lots of loving attention. Plus I'm sure the baby smelled very sweet to him too, and he is happy for the parents new found joy.
It’s nice to see a family include their pet and introduce them to the new baby instead of dropping them off at the pound .. I can see you really love them
Like most big dogs a malamute lifespan isn't that long. The baby will grow with it, but if the dog dies in 10-12 years then the child will move on easily at such a younger age. Children are resilient, and have too busy of a life while gaining their bearings on the world. I never cared for the dogs we had when I was a child as much as my beagle I adopted in my 20s. Now I spent nearly 24/7 training and bonding with her, and that was a huge life lesson. Never saw dogs as faithful, unconditionally loving, and all around supportive little ones until I spent time raising one on my own in my adult years. Getting a dog in the teen years is a bad time in a human's life too. We tend to move forward too fast, and change directions too often for an animal that needs stability.
Cats don’t just ignore people, it’s about the bond you create with it. I have four LOVELY cats two adults and two babies and they are the sweetest things ever. Assuming all cats are aloof is a pretty mean stereotype...
@@BennyLlama39 our "puppy" (a 45 pound stray puppy we took in) knows that the lever works it, but hasn't figured out how to do it. And for all the criticizing people: I walked her all around the neighborhood after we took her in (she was so skinny and skinny, she'd been eating plastic grocery bags!), asking people if they recognized her. I put her picture on every website, local vets, got her immunized and will get her spayed in January.
Since it seems the dogs & cat have lived with this couple while she was pregnant, the pets already know the energy & heartbeat of the baby and she is familiar with their barks & other sounds. When I was pregnant with my daughter 42 years ago, we had a black Lab/Shepherd mix. He would sit by my feet & put his head on my lap. You could tell he was listening to her. When she was born, the first thing I did when we walked in the door from the hospital was squat down immediately by the door with her in my arms & allowed him to sniff her. He immediately recognized her & his tail started wagging as if she was a long lost friend. He would lay at the door of the bedroom when she was asleep in her crib. He wouldn't allow anyone in the room that wasn't family. They get quite protective of their babies! They innately know it's an infant human, his human.

It was very smart decision on the parents side to introduce the baby this way. Very carefully so that they understand the importance of being gentle around the baby.
I was confused why there wasn't a burst of laughter when he woofed but then I thought to myself "He must do this all the time!"

they do the same thing hunting prey be more careful please

M J Grasscutter yo I love cats, but some of them are literal crack heads. my first cat was one we took in after finding in my moms engine, aka the most demonic beast, gentle was not in his genetics. anyone who walked by would get their ankles attacked

It's so heart warming when I see animals be so gentle to newly arrived family member! I almost had my tears out 😰
This baby is set for life! A dog that’ll protect her, and a cat that will ignore her
Like most big dogs a malamute lifespan isn't that long.
Also I’m pretty sure that cat was extremely confused.
That cat will probably love her. They are just more subtle about showing it.
HahHaha this comment had to

And for all the criticizing people: I walked her all around the neighborhood after we took her in (she was so skinny and skinny, she'd been eating plastic grocery bags!), asking people if they recognized her. I put her picture on every website, local vets, got her immunized and will get her spayed in January.
You can tell Phil so excited after waiting for so long. That’s so sweet.
This made my eyes water.
you can see in previous videos the dogs sniffing and laying on Emma's bump.
