They need mental stimulation too, all dogs do, but especially those bred for hard work in very cold climates, like labradors, huskies, malamutes, maremmas and so on.

Neighbors at my cottage in Canada have a beautiful Husky. She swims in the lake and visits every day....except she knows how to open my window screens. I have two cats who I can't risk getting out so I've had to use gorilla tape so she can't slide them open. She is the most determined, stubborn dog I've ever seen, but she's adorable.

Ever have your Husky tow you? I would throw a harness on my son's for mountain bike rides. He'd pull me up the street (a little over a 1/4 mile) until we got to the mountain trails, where I could take him off leash. He LOVED pulling me. Pretty much that's their thing. They also love chasing deer, apparently. He'd go nuts. Never was fast enough to catch them (wouldn't let him anyway). But, he had a blast thinking he could.
My sister had a malamute husky for 11 years, what a wonderfully large animal it was. I had a Lurcher that wouldn't play with any purebred dogs except huskies. Maybe because they are both old breeds of dogs, not sure. Love from Rotterdamn man..woman, dog ;)
The ball retrieval was a fail due to the water. Pure breed Siberian Husky won't go in deep water the max they go is their chest. In winter getting wet can get them to freeze. Also, if one fall in the water by accident, don't laugh. My husky went all the way near the person laughing before shaking off the water.
I’d get the Belgian malinios instead of the Shepard it is easier to train and nearly identical breed that is literally a warrior used for war and a very loyal dog with less health problems on average with most of them. German Shepard are great dogs though but the amount of highly probable serious health problems is something you stand a chance of dealing with. Both dogs are fairly easy to to train you just need to learn German key words for your malinios because they’re trained in German so at whenever you have to use them for protection here in the states not many people will know the key words and will have less of a chance of being able to know what is coming beforehand.

Our dogs do that with the bones too. Our Border Collie will step or look away then our Sheltie takes it, then our Border Collie fusses for the longest time, wanting it back!
I think it's a good thing that Dalmatians, German Shepards, Doberman's etc. were chosen to do work where sirens would be involved. If a Husky was chosen, then I am sure they'd all be too busy amplifying the siren perhaps long after it cut off to do any work.
I had a husky for 17 years. When ever the train would pass by, the husky would howl. Now that was cute but not as cute as the pug trying to imitate his big brother!
Experts say that most dogs don’t really like it when we hug them, and certainly have no idea what’s going on when we kiss them. I was disappoint when I learned this!
You have no idea what it is like to own a husky. They are one of God's greatest creations I love my husky very very much loki brings me joy when I need it. He talks to me and yells at me sometimes but he's my Buddy boy and I wouldn't have it any other way
