Need a video like this but after several more years of ownership. Would be great to see what the experience is like at the 100-150k mile mark and 5+ years.
Ask a Roadster owner with battery problems. No battery available. And one bad cell takes out the whole battery. Only one place can isolate those bad cells. In Boston. When you get the first sign of failure, DO NOT DRIVE OR CHARGE THE CAR. Ship it to Boston.
I've had my Model 3 for 140k miles and 4 years, I haven't had any real problems yet. I did have a suspension squeak that was covered in an afternoon under warranty. It's been a super solid and reliable car.
@weylinmorris3020 I'm tryna convince my wife to get a model y, she's not convinced it'll be a 2 kid family hauler but the size is big enough in my opinion and the reason I want it is the speed and reliability plus no more gas and oil payments
Came here for the Tesla stuff, stayed for the doggos. I'm so sorry to hear about Simba and it definitely looks like you are giving him his best life. I can't imagine how tough it is for you and your wife. Sending y'all the best wishes!
Hi Chris, I have a Fremont Y LR that we picked up in June last year. We have done almost 12K miles with zero issues. I did not have any delivery issues and so far have not had to use Tesla Service. My family loves it and my older son who got to drive it a few times agrees on how amazing it is. I love your videos and please keep them coming!
I just wanted to say thank you, probably the reason I bought Model Y. Awesome videos 😊 I have my Model Y for about 7 months and with 12k miles on it. Every time I get into the car, I still drive with biggest smile on my face. Never getting gas car again. Tesla is the true cult 😂
@@EverydayChris Your children are awesome🐶. Lost my fur buddy last year - one f the hardest things I have ever been through, Chris. Glad you are giving your first born an enjoyable life with his mom & dad.
how many Porsche 911's have you driven because they are so far ahead of Tesla as far as quality, steering feel, braking etc its not even funny. heck the turbo S is just a tiny bit slower than a model s plaid to 60mph, but crushes it on a closed road course.
I have had a MYLR for about 2 months. Delivery experience: Perfect!. Fit and finish: Excellent! Subsequent service: Not needed. Refund of AUD $8450.00: Much appreciated! Summary: Love it!
I ordered my 2021 3SR+ from clicking the button to home delivery was less than 2 weeks. I order my 2023 Y from clicking the button on 1/13 to picking it up at the dealer 2/3 (about a week delay due to me not filling in all the paperwork). I will say that the "dealer" experience was fair. It was hurry up, hurry up, hurry up (due to all the texts, emails, etc to tell me to reschedule delivery early). We got there and had to wait 30 mins for a guy to help us even though we had an appt. End of the day, I have 2 Tesla's in garage; so I guess you can say that I'm super happy with them.
I've had better experience with my service center appointment - but because I knew my normal service center was known to be not so great - so I rescheduled for a different center. However, I will say, that if you have an issue that can be addressed with the mobile service - that is the way to go. The lack of human numbers to call is a real downside - I prefer using the app and website for the most part but sometimes you need a human to help. Beyond a couple minor service appointments (one mobile and one at a center), I've had no issues. About 18 months and about 12k miles.
Another enjoyable video, thanks Chris! 2022 MYP 9 months 5,000 miles Car is great no problems to date aside from minor fit at delivery. Which was 99 days order to delivery I’m happy
I found about 5-6 tiny fit and finish issues upon delivery. The awesome service center crew took care of it all without complaint or making me feel ashamed or guilty for even asking. My issues were minuscule and definitely were within spec, but they fixed it all anyways.
@@HypocritesExposd I had two small flubs in the speaker cover and they replaced it no issue and one interior piece of plastic needed to be snapped back in place in the hatch. My service center was great to work with. I think Tesla appeals partly to a tech crowd that doesn’t understand automobiles and they think they are getting a perfect machine like an iPhone “the technology” people. Tesla is a small car company compared to the rest of the industry under tremendous pressure and demand for its products. Expect to have extensive service as this is a highly proprietary product that can only be serviced by Tesla Motors, this is not an economy car! Nothing about Tesla is cheap! Except for the absence of gasoline. The car is amazing but it’s not a Honda, don’t expect it to be like one.
@@steveb6709 agreed. It’s funny when people compare a Tesla to a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla. Of course the total cost of ownership will be lower for an ICE car like that, but I’ve had a single reliable ICE car for 20 years. Life is too short and I got the Tesla because it’s the car I want for the next 10-20 years. By that time, I’m going to be near retirement, so I’m just trying to enjoy the surprisingly huge amount of time I spend in my car as much as possible.
I ordered a model y LR. I had a problem with financing and I called Tesla customer service and I was on hold for 3 and a half hours. I ended up hanging up and called again the next day. After waiting another hour and a half, I gave up. Drove up to the service center and the rep there was SUPER helpful and fixed my issue in 10 mins. Now I'm all set to take delivery next week.
Model Y LR 2years 40,000 miles no issues at all. still using original tires and still have about 5 to 10 thousand left on them....... I had a puncture once it was fixed the same day.
The thing I do not like is the battery degradation. At delivery my M3P 100% charge was at 315 now it’s at 280. Had it’s for year and half. Barely supercharge.. and never over 90%. Other than 3 times. My battery died a month ago. Rear battery disabled.. and couldn’t drive.. which was a shock. It was at tesla for 3 weeks. They gave me $100 Uber credits per day while in the dealership. Which was nice.
I have my car for 2 years 30k miles and only have about 5-6% loss and that number has been pretty consistent since 15k-20k miles, so basically after 20k I barely see any degradation.
Do remember that it uses your average power consumption for its range estimates. So if you go above it’s very optimistic range, it will show a lower range. With that said, reports show that the battery degrades quickly in the very beginning, and then slows down to almost nothing.
My only complaints war the normal steering turns with yoke, it should have been electronically steering with race steering/turning, and not direct turn steering, so you can take advantage of the shape, and not be limited/annoyed/inconvenienced by it. and the other thing is the lack of sensors, they keep removing them. (and finally a wish, they should offer full water resistant option and warranty add on for it.)
I couldn’t agree with this more. My Tesla ownership experience has been good, but the service center experience has been some of the worst auto experiences I’ve ever had. Almost left the brand entirely multiple times
How bad could it be? I have never had a good experience with Toyota dealers and I have gone to multiple dealers. They always try to sell you something you don't need and appointments can take very long. So unless it's a luxury car, do dealerships ever provide good experiences?
Hi Chris got my LRMY in May 2020 have 48K miles on it, (many trips from LA to Texas) had door molding come loose, simple fix, 12 battery died and a panel alignment upon pickup. Only other problems I had were 2 flat tires which was not Tesla's fault however I did fid out the best way to fix this is replace the tire. I had them patched but it didn't hold after driving a few weeks. Still have original tires on the front with 4/32" rubber left. Tesla has foam sound proofing in there tires to make them quieter but almost impossible to patch. Still happy with it thought. Got my CyberTruck ordered, I'm number 10K on the list hope to get it this year.
I picked my model y 1 month ago and so far i have drove on 3 different long trips, no issues yet, drives smooth and very fast, delivery day was so fast that i almost felt rushed, im from nebraska and have drove it on the snow and below weather temp which it does shortens the vehicle range.
I've had my Model Y LR for 26 months, 33k miles, 0 issues. If I remember that Tom's Guide correctly, he drove the Teslas off and on for a thousand miles over a period of time. That tells me that he never drove it long enough to get used to the touchscreen controls or learned to use his phone for the key. Why would you say that Orange County is Tesla central. A couple weeks ago on a Friday at 11AM I was bored so I counted the Teslas while driving PCH in downtown Corona Del Mar. In the mile drive I only counted 24 Teslas on PCH.
Great video. I am having my doubts also. I picked up my MYLR on 2/10/22. I looked it over and it appeared fine BUT when I got to my detailer who put the film and ceramic pro on for me he noticed a scratch on the driver side rear window. Personally I think it was scratched by the prep people at my pickup location since I saw them wiping a car down for delivery and they were not careful - wiping from the bottom of the car to the top using the same cloth and never cleaning it. That was resolved by replacing the window but I have another on going problem - my ultrasonic sensors in the front do not work and hence Park Assist does not work. It was that way from day one, then suddenly started working and more recently stopped again. Remote analysis said that he saw the car moving and distances changing and he speculated that it was a problem with software/UI. I brought the car to the service center yesterday and they indicated that it was a problem with the protective film which I seriously doubt BUT I see that some detailers remove the film from the sensors and also saw one report of the same problem. The problem, IMHO, is the service center not looking at their own data as provided by the remote technician. They now say that none of the sensors work - which has never happened since I have used the rear distances as a parking assist in my garage. It sure sounds like the software/UI problem since he could see movement remotely but it never gets to the screen. I guess it is Let the Buyer Beware with Tesla. Removing the film from the sensors makes Tinting Your Tesla as you did 1 month ago on RUclips kind of difficult. Who wants to drive a blue car with a bunch of white (or other color) dots showing? I'll follow-up when it is resolved - if ever. Do other followers of yours have this problem? Thanks again. Your videos are helpful.
You dont have to ask neighbours. You check out workshops and number of issues compared to other cars. The tecknology and speed is fantastic. But number of issues compared to other cars is huge.
Bought a 2021 Model 3. Within the first year the car lost power and would not charge. I contacted Tesla and they had the car towed to the nearest service center. They provided me with a loaner vehicle. It took them service center 3 weeks to make the repairs. The main computer failed so it was replaced. When I went to pick up the vehicle it was still in the maintenance mode so I had to wait for a tech to return to normal driving mode. I was never given an update during this process. Very frustrating. I really love the Tesla and enjoy the technology. Not sold on all electric. I am going back to a hybrid vehicle in the near future.
i got 2022 model Y performance. the small battery broke in a few months and the car stopped charging. it took tesla service 2 weeks to get my tesla battery replaced. i am probably going to get a plug in hybrid next time instead of a tesla
I have 140,000 miles on my 17 Tesla P85S D and love it!! I used to be Mercedes owner for 35 years and will never go back! The maintenance and expense of operation have been near zero!
My headliner’s plastic makes repetitive cracking sounds. Every time I go to the tesla service in San Diego it doesn’t make the sound. It only makes sounds when the plastic cools down. I’ve been to the service center once every month since I got the car. Both of my seat belt pillars rattles but at different temperatures of the day lol😢😢😢😢
Haha I did recorded it they told me they can’t fix the car unless they know where the sound is coming from. The video will not tell us where it is coming from so they won’t fix it. I feel like they don’t believe what ever I say unless they witness themselves because I’m a kid. If you wanna do a segment on it I’m happy to show you my car lol
I remember having a mustang back in the 80's and thought it was a piece of junk when something finally broke at 85k miles.. How the times have changed with cars...
Thanks for the info. I have been hearing similar reports of customer service issues and build quality. I was considering buying but after watching this video I am looking into other options.
I took delivery of my Model 3 RWD just a week ago and I’ve already put 350 miles on it. I absolutely love it so far! Quality control, at least with my car is excellent too!
"I’ve put about 22500km on my Model 3 Performance in 9 months. My biggest issues have been fit/finish (rattles and loose bits some of which have been fixed some not) and the hundreds of phantom brakes with autopilot and TACC. I’m not sure how long I will keep it but my next car won’t be a Tesla"
I just put in an order and seconds later got a Vin number. The issue survey you did with random tesla owners is inaccurate because you would need to rate the types of issues. You could have 6 issues that are minor maybe not even issues and have one issue that means you need to replace the entire battery which would outweigh the 6 other issues
Greetings from France, loved your video I have a 2022 M3 standard range which has done 10000 km with zero issues and am now awaiting delivery of a new Model Y RWD as we really need a little more space for our Labrador to join us for motoring holidays across Europe. A great video but you did bring a tear to my eyes, as we also lost our Labrador to cancer last year and even though we now have another Labrador we miss how first baby so much and seeing your dog in your arm's really brought memories rushing back. Thanks again for a great video.
Oh my I'm sorry about your first Labrador. Retrievers are such great dogs, and they're the reason we have the Model Y instead of a 3! Glad your M3 has no issues!
Got my Y performance last year. Delivery with 2 scratched rims, and overall bad build quality on the outside. The worst thing is the missing ultrasonic sensors for the park distance control, absolute nogo. Even with the newest update the traffic sign detection is worse than my 2017 BMW, windshield wipers automatic is the worst i`ve ever had. Service wont fix my problems or even answer. Wont buy a Tesla again and absolutely can`t recommend to buy one right now with the missing sensors and no alternative, even if you`re ok with the other common issues.
I have a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance. It has just 10,000 miles approximately. It's just a week or two shy of a full year old. # of issues that I've had in for service = 4. Total number of service appointments = 6. Noise in door (never resolved), wheel alignment from the factory (kept for many days), Autopilot crossing the center line (never resolved), fogged pillar camera (changed but didn't resolved it). x First off, I love the car a lot! “Amazing!” is a word I use often to describe it. I'll never go “back” to ICE cars as they seem prehistoric. There's nothing out there that comes close in total experience. Overall a very reliable and trouble-free car when compared to my experiences with ICE cars of over half a century! It's so clean, having no oil and filters to change! It's so very, very convenient for me, with a 60 amp Tesla charger in my garage. I actually “miss” going to a gas station, it's such a lifelong habit. Not. My Tesla service experience has been a mixed bag. Sometimes they just can't figure out the problem and they “give up”. Sometimes they send service and the tech is great. But I live far from the Tesla Service Center and it's a real big pain! Unlike conventional ICE cars that you can service in any home town. They also keep the car far, far too long. For example, one time they were do do a wheel alignment for a problem since delivery and they kept the car for 3 extra days while waiting for a spot in the alignment machine. They didn't seem to care that I'm unexpectedly out of a car and far away from home. Yes, I got Uber vouchers but far and away, not enough. I've had a number of issues with the car, many waited for software updates to correct. Some I just live with because Tesla never could resolve the issues. My experience What I love: It's so quick. It blows the mind. It handles tight curves like on railroad tracks. Totally amazing. Track mode is incredible as it increases regen braking to the max. I've learned to maximize performance with charge and temperature. Again, amazing! This car out performs some cars costing $100K! Auto pilot (when working correctly) is so incredible, it's like having a copilot. I never feel alone as a driver. I always feel like someone is helping me. It's the best ever remedy for stop and go driving! Wow! I love regen braking. I got used to it very quickly. I never want to go back to ICE. Dog mode. We have dogs and they love us. We take them to many many of our sub 2 hour stops. I take them to my gym, to a bar for a drink, even out to dinner. They are always fine. We don't have to worry about them, and one of them does sometimes try to escape the home if we aren't there for her. Camp mode. I went camping in it. Wow. I'm a bit guy and this is a small car. NO problems, I used a mattress made especially for the car. A flexible car. Although mine is more of a sports car, it can double as a family sedan. We've taken whole family to and from airports. I wish we had seating for 6 instead of 5 at times, but that's a lot to ask. I've had zero power train and battery issues. Charging experience has been wonderful, once I learned that there are Superchargers everywhere I go and I don't need to worry, and I don't even need to plan. I only waited briefly once. The chargers always worked and it didn't take long to get what I needed. The Tesla charging infrastructure is a deal maker for buying a Tesla. Because of it alone I would never buy any other brand and I don't expect their problem to get resolved for a decade or more. I learned a different driving style on long trips. Just take a short break every 1-2 hours or more and charge while eating and going to the rest room or getting a cup of joe. Easy peazy. The emissions tests is great joy for the kids and the kids in us adults too. The car can be quite fun and I love that Tesla thinks and acts that way. Life should be more fun. What went wrong and troubles, and some annoyances: I'm a bigger guy at 6'1” and 240 lbs. I have a large frame, meaning my bones are larger than some and my shoulders and hips are larger than some people. The seats have been awful. I didn't notice the problem on sub one hour drives and test drives. But over an hour and longer drives, ouch! I've talked to Tesla owners all over the country. Most larger drivers hurt! I had to rebuild my seats myself and now offer rebuilt Tesla seats to anyone. With all the glass, the car is too damned hot! I tinted all the windows and installed insulation underneath the ceiling glass and put a nice aftermarket glass ceiling insert as well. It looks good and solved the excessive heat issue. I also use “vent” in controls quite a bit and that also helps. I live in Florida where it gets hot. Tesla shouldn't have put so much glass with zero protection. The “breaking in period” was very suspenseful and anxiety ridden. When I first got the car, the software was way behind as delivered. I had 2021 software in a 2022 car. Even the Tesla Service said so. I had a lot of extremely annoying and sometimes frightening and bothersome false alarms. I don't know what fixed it but over time it mostly went away. But I suffered for months.... I nearly sold the car! For example, even with hands on wheel constantly, it would alarm and shut off Auto Pilot. That is now resolved. When I picked up the car on “delivery day” I noticed the driver's door made a reverberating sound. No other door made that sound. Like a thud, then thud, thud at lower volume. I requested service after I accepted the car, as I was told to do. After several services including replacing the mirror, the noise is still there when I shut the door. But only on the driver's door. I just got used to it. Tesla cannot fix it. Delivery day driving was stressful. Although I watched many videos, there were surprises. For example, I could not find the AC controls. Stupidly, when the AC is off, the light goes out. Unless you know ahead of time where it is, it doesn't show anywhere. Now I know so it's not a problem. But the day one driving was difficult. I could not turn on the AC when I first picked the car up. Phantom Braking. This is a horrific problem. Thankfully it's happening much, much less often than when I got it. Extremely slow resume to speed. Under a number of circumstances, in autopilot, the car waits dangerously long to resume driving and to resume to driving speed. It has put me in danger a number of times. It still does this. And it's late to break after a car turns in front of us. Auto pilot will sometimes cross the center line of the road. I've had it serviced more than once and they said, it's within spec. But this is a terrible and extremely dangerous behavior and it's still there. Certain roads and only on right hand bends, it won't turn the wheel enough to stay in the lane but crosses into the opposing traffic! The ride is a little rough. My custom seats I built helped with that a lot. Wind noise. There's annoying wind noise intermittently in the top rear of both front windows. I've tried numerous fixes. It gets better and the sound is less annoying but comes and goes to some degree. I might give up and get a service appointment. From my own experience with Tesla Service, I doubt they can do any better though. Screen readability A lot of times the fine print is not readable in my seating position. This is especially true for alarms and warnings. And the notices is only on the screen a short time. Most of the time I cannot read it. I installed a swivel mount and that helps a lot. The car should come with a swivel mount. Phone charger. It doesn't fit any XL phone I've had. The length of the place to put the phone for wireless charging is just too short to accommodate moderately larger phones. And the phone isn't readable in there. Ceiling is a bit low for a taller driver. There's nothing that can be done about this. I want to sit more vertically but I'm tall and the ceiling is kind of on the low side. What I wish: The range was just slightly more. It's supposed to be just over 300 miles but in reality if you are kind to the battery and you drive on highways, it's far less. I wish it was a 400 mile range car. The ceiling wasn't so darn hot or there was a screen like most other cars have. The ceiling is also too low both in front and in the rear. 6' persons do not fit well. I wish the trunk opened more like the Model Y and that bar across the top of the trunk wasn't there. The ride was less jarring. There was a better seat, even if it was optional. There should be a built in phone holder. Everyone has a phone. The charging station is out of sight the way that I sit in the car. The phone holder should accommodate XL phones and have wireless charging. There should be wireless charging for rear passengers as well. . There should be an ability to put a larger drink cup or normal container in the console but it's too small.
Took delivery of 23 MYLR ON 12/29/22. There were issues when I picked up at delivery and was told to make a service appt for... the front bumper had 2 scratches, they replaced the bumper, the arm console in the middle only closed if you slammed it shut, they replaced that. The passenger front seat had a stain on it, they are replacing the seat next week, the front speaker on the door looked like a part was melted, they replaced that. Now while driving the car, there is a high pitch whining noise which was not in the 22 MY car but it appears a lot of 2023 have the same issue, not sure why and also on the passenger side sounds like the window is open. Again another issue that many 2023 MY owners have reported on the Tesla forums..This was my 2nd vin so if I rejected it, they would have canceled my order, well looking back now, and with the price decrease i should have.
@@EverydayChris Nope, I traded it in for the MYLR. It just annoying about the high pitch sound in the new 23. I did not hear it in the 2022. Tesla must have done something different with the motors b/c even the storage containers for the cubbies in the trunk do not fit from the Tesla accessories site. I do enjoy the car even though I have these annoying issues. Do you like your MX better than your MY?
@@happyhippo1710 You should be able to get that fixed with a service appointment. I asked about some road noise in ours, but I think the road noise that I hear is relatively normal - just thought it'd be a little more quiet. but high pitched sounds definitely shouldn't be happening... Good luck! We're in the same boat as you with the December purchase... :(
No problems at delivery day. Well there was a dirty smudge on the driver side A pillar and one of the guys standing around on the delivery lot cleaned it. No misalignments, scratches, dings, stuff not working or any of that. The delivery was in Santa Clara CA. Oh one other problem: the cover over the interior rear view mirror mount was not seated all the way. The delivery guys said put in a ticket which I did right there and the fixit guy came to the house about a week later and fixed it just fine. Since then no problems and it's got almost 19K miles on it from March 2022. I'm totally happy with everything and sorry to hear about all the problems other people have had. I hope the QA team get better once they smooth out that crazy end of quarter delivery push.
I’ve put about 22500km on my Model 3 Performance in 9 months. My biggest issues have been fit/finish (rattles and loose bits some of which have been fixed some not) and the hundreds of phantom brakes with autopilot and TACC. I’m not sure how long I will keep it but my next car won’t be a Tesla.
Excited for you! If you notice any fit and finish issues (use a checklist) upon delivery, take pics and schedule a service appt right away. Be super, super nice to the service crew as they’re overworked and probably get treated like crap by other people and hopefully all is good! Enjoy!
Love my model 3 but it sucks that you have to pay a subscription to have apple music!? if they were to charge that, it (at a minimum) should have ALL the apps I get with Carplay and MORE... that part sucks big time.
12K miles, model Y. I love the car and no regret buying. However the customer service is the worst experience I ever had with cars. It wasn't even any issue with the car, they just had a recall for suspension joint for my car and had to deal with worst customer service for almost 10 months to get it inspected to tell me that nothing is wrong for my car. Impossible to reach them and they kept avoiding to schedule an appointment for the recall they made, and the service center kept the car for a week without working on my car with trunk and doors opened the whole week because they were "waiting" for the tool to inspect the suspension joint with no communication or updates.
Sure argue about a panel gap, or maybe a squeaky door all none real issues. I have taken delivery of a 2023 Ioniq 5 Long range AWD (limited equivalent - the car is in Canada )end of Oct 2022 and i still cannot Fast DC charge. I am heading back in 2 weeks for service to do more troubleshooting (4th appt), I do not hope for much. First service back in Early Dec when I discovered the issue, they ordered a CCS socket wiring harness took about 8 weeks for that to arrive and another 4 weeks to get the service appt. That did not fix the issue, took another week for service to call back, and said they could do another appt in 5 weeks to troubleshoot more, and that appt is about 2 weeks away. So at least a Tesla may not look finished but teh tech works and they know their cars, Hyundai, maybe ICE cars they fully understand but the technicians are not able to service their own EVs.
Thanks for the video! After 3 years, 30K miles, my model still keeps me smiling. I agree service is probably the weakest link in the Tesla ownership experience. My (only) issue was squeaky control arm joints (warranty repair). They said 1-day, but kept the car 4, w/no loaners, offered Enterprise, etc. Nevertheless, imho Tesla is a great company, despite growing pains.
My Model Y steering wheel feel loose. Everytime drive over the bump or change lane steering wheel vibrate like lane keeping system. Thanks for video Chris.
A week out for a service isn't bad. I also have a ford truck and they had me out 2-3 weeks. I think many car companies due to a lack of service mechanics have got much worse. Thanks for the detailed long review of your tesla experience.
I've loved watching your videos Chris as they are very informative for a new Tesla owner as myself. But you earn bonus points for being a huge dog loving family! First thing after I received my Tesla and inspected it. I folded the rear seats down, put in my all weather mats and put down a rear dog cover so I could take my 10.5 year old Chow Chow for a ride. He loved It! I wish you all the best time with your four-legged family members as it is never long enough. Sending good thoughts to your pooches!
you must live a very boring A to B local life. i travel 500miles every month on mini road trips to visit family and 3000 miles twice a year for vacation from east coast to west coast. if i drove an EV my aprox 3000 mile trip would take 2 WEEKs doubling not only my travel time but also my cost due to having to rent double the amount of motels to sleep.... due to all the obscene charging wait times, NOT only does it take almost 1hr to charge but often times theres a wait BEFORE even charging LOL total JOKE. ill keep my diesel for life.
@@tedlasalvia9668 WRONG by 2030 many states are banning and refusing to provide insurance on gasoline cars. in China you have to pay 15,000$! just to register a gasoline car (eco registration tax) and then you can only drive it from 8am to 5pm. if you drive it after these hours you get a 1000$ "fine" for polluting... If China is doing it you can bet USA canada and EU will follow.. there will be no choice and its becuase fools agree to buy, promote incurage these EV abominations. Did you know China owns 90% of the worlds chemicals and minerals required to build EVs? and theres only enough Lithium on the planet to replace 5% of the worlds vehicles... You know why NWO wants EVs so bad?? becuase they dont want people to drive and be mobile anymore. They want total control over majority of people. Evs are perfect. A: there wont be enough EVs for majorioty of people to have one, only the rich will drive. B: they can easily shut off the power and stop your movment during civil wars or protests. no power cant charge them. . ( gasoline you can stock pile gas and drive for months or years with out a gas station) C: again if you live in senior center apartments or highrise buildings you wont be able to charge them or not be allowed to own them. ( some stratas are already banning the instalation of charge ports being installed in there buildings)The Covid Hoax lockdowns were a TEST to see if people would tolerate having there mobility removed. These Evs are much worse for the planet. now we will clear cut forests to build Hydro plants, mine the entire planet for minerals, and set up nuclear power plants in ever city to produce more power. LA has rolling black outs durring the summer becuase of to many people using there Air conditoners, but you people think it will be fines with everyone pluging in these cars at 5 pm? LOL... EVs are a threat to not only freedom of choice and freedom of mobility but also life as we know it.
Did you switch your rims to induction? Or are those different hubcaps? And if you went to induction, did you notice anything different in ride quality or range loss?
I have have a Tesla 3 long range 2nd gen for 2 years and 2 months and 90k and never seen a service centre the in the uk you get the service team sitting at the super chargers so they fitted the o ring when I went for coffee.
From ordering to delivery, incl. trading-in my ICE vehicle, I experienced the entire process very positively in Switzerland last year. My Model 3 LR didn't have the slightest imperfection, was spotlessly cleaned and after 12000 km (almost 7500 miles) everything still works perfectly. Maybe it's just luck, who knows.
Bought three Teslas and have had zero issues. Picked up and left without having to buy tons of dealer add ons. No pressure, no upselling, no hidden fees, no markup … i had a Nissan Maxima and a Infiniti G37 both with engine issues. One after 12k miles and one at 30k miles. The Maxima was in the shop for 45 days. My point is that every car manufacturer have issues and problems. I agree that Tesla service could be improved but no other car manufacturer has a Ranger service. Tesla is at least on par with US auto makers. Lexus service is probably superior to everyone. I definitely believe that our M3P and MYP are the best cars we have ever had. My audi RS5, audi s6, MB C43 AMG, Lexis IS350 all had worse problems and the maintenance was horrendous. You don’t mention anything about minimal maintenance cost with an EV. My RS5 cost over $5k to get rotors replaced as they can’t be resurfaced and for a complete brake job. Someone complaining about tires has never had a high performance car obviously. All of those cars need tires replaced every 20k miles. Our MB needed new tires after 10k miles. Teslas are super fast cars and will beat most ICE cars any day. Holistically Tesla has the best cars … if you don’t believe me at least test drive one.
62k miles on my M3. Passenger seat malfunctioned, replaced under warranty. Tires replaced of course, but that’s normal. My rear glass broke, I recall a stone hitting it. That’ll run me $830 to replace. That’s it. Super low maintenance car for sure.
I live in OC California. I started thinking about getting a Tesla... so now when I am driving around in my old minivan... I am amazed at how ... it seems that every third car in OC is a Tesla! So it was good to hear that people in the OC is the number one purchasers of Teslas....so my observation (although a little exaggerated) is not too far from the truth. 🙂
2022 M3LR/FSD. 5 months at 3500 miles. ZERO issues. Perfect at delivery. I make up excused to go places just to drive the car. Elon say the best part is no part. I say the best service is no service. I plug it in and put air in the tires. How sweet is that? Keep up the informative RUclipss. I can not ever imagine buying a gas car again, can't imagine buying non-Tesla.
Yes everyone on RUclips has had a bad delivery experience. This and overall quality of the interior and exterior is slightly holding me back from buying. Once they get that stuff ironed out I’ll be pulling the trigger
Yeah, it’s concerning! Any other new car my wife and I have ever bought never had any issues at all- that’s the expectation with a new car, for initial delivery and for the first few years. I really like Teslas and hope to get one sometime, but I can’t believe the expectations are so low where we just assume a few issues are normal in the first year. :(
5 month M3LR owner. '22 model. No service issues but the black paint sucks! Do not get black! Never been to any car wash, always hand washed and garaged. Rock chips galore on the hood. My 2006 Chevy Cobalt's black paint was WAY better than this, and that car was 18k MSRP and had 120k miles when I got rid of it and the paint on that car's hood looked better than my 65k Tesla's now after only 10k miles!
@@EverydayChris Cool, Currently we have a M3 at the moment we did order MY but we didn’t take delivery. We were debating MX vs MY. I did order Cybertruck so still waiting tho. Let’s see how it goes. Keep up the great video bud
2022MYLR 16k miles Re-seated driver side rear view mirror (shaking). Reinstalled driver seat (lose trim). Realigned passenger door (misaligned). Replaced front windshield (stress crack). Reinstalled driver side interior pillar cover (lose trim). Replaced charge port (broken). Repaired right rear passenger tire. Recalibrated TPMS by service center (reading was reversed, unable to recalibrate using the car screen). Tire rotations. Paid $80k+ for the car
2015 model s 154k miles. All 4 door handles have been replaced and 3 have been replaced twice. Parking brake calipers seized and the car couldnt get into gear Trunk latch broke Center screen was black and had to get fixed 2 times Mirrors wouldnt unfold
I would never go to a Costco for gas. Its a good deal but my time is worth more. I sold my 2018 Tesla model 3LR last year for so I could get a newer one but the delivery date keep changing from late Feb to March to April but I have already sold it because of the great price Vroom would pay for it. I had to rent cars for a month until I gave up and bought a Acura MDX. The car is fine but its not a Tesla. The gas price was insane too. I just can't use this car as an everyday driver so I order a performance model y that's schedule to be delivered this this month. I hope they give me a good one lol
re: Delivery day bad experience. I don't know that it qualifies as "bad," but I was annoyed that I had to "accept delivery" of the vehicle BEFORE I could inspect the interior. They told me the only way to get into the vehicle was through the app (the doors were locked, and "keys" inside), and to add it to the app I had to accept delivery. Fortunately for me there were no interior issues. But, really lame in my opinion.
We had a sensor issue with our passenger side seat and had to get it replaced. It took us 1 month to get it fixed but that's because my schedules didn't align with their dates. Overall the issue wasn't that bad and during the repair they gave 200$ uber credit per day till it was fixed. Which helped us get our errands around the town. I have a model y LR 2023 for 2 months.
Did you buy at end of December or January? I got a loaner (had far more issues than my vehicle) while mine was in the shop and it was great to have and see how well the USS work -- they seem really accurate, but a little bossy... Hope we get some update soon for this with vision only (I know it's not going to be the same, but I think it can be decent enough - USS aren't perfect either). We bought at the end of December... 🤕
@@EverydayChrisAround 4 weeks ago. It may not be a big deal to most people, but it would have been nice to know that not all Tesla Model Y's manufactured in the state of Texas come with the same HW version. I had a custom order and it would have been nice if the Tesla website specified the hardware version level of the cars. It appears to be a pretty significant upgrade based on a lot of the content that I've seen so far.
It breaks my heart to hear about your baby, and I’m so happy he has parents like you and your wife that love him so much and are striving to make his final time on this earth as enjoyable as you can. That warms my heart! Now, regarding the Tesla portion of this video… I’m so disappointed to hear about the lack of customer service Tesla has! Elon better get this corrected ASAP, or it will definitely affect sales, jmo. I hope Tesla sees this problem and jumps on it! I don’t give a sh$t how awesome the engineering of your vehicle is, bad service issues will kill the sales. Again, jmo. Thanks for this great video, and I hope you have more quality time with your baby. ❤
Anybody have issues with the paint on their Tesla? I just took delivery of a black model 3 and the paint already had scratches, scuffs, and haze. Wondering if this is common. Im surprised at how bad the paint quality is.
I've owned the Model Y performance for a year now. I had no big issues with build quality. My main problem is the car price does not match the over quality of the ride. Yes great fun and good, very good road grip and acceleration. However the car is not comfortable enough for this high price point. From small thing like the auto steering not working well, hot sweety seats, hard rough bumpy ride, to interface issues. The screen is great but the fact there is no front over the steering wheel dash causes a slue of issues. From strong audio prompts that takes away from the comfort of the ride to the feeling of riding blind or having to move your eyes unnecessarily from the road. The carrying size is not so great because of the hatchback shape. There is no spare wheel. No way to attach a towing hook. The shape of the wheels make it very hard to avoid curb rush and adds to the stress of riding in tight city streets. The screen monitor has some serious issues of font size and contrast, making some of the information hard to see. Making a phone call is hard. One has to reach all the way over to the passenger side to press call. No Waze app or car play. The google maps integration is just inaccurate. The car does not read road sign properly but cruise control relays heavily on it. Cruise control is buggy and has lots of false warnings. No sensors in the steering wheel cause the driver to constantly put strong pressure on the wheel left or right when in Auto Steering. Just uncomfortable. You feel every twitch the car makes not always necessary turns, when it tries almost religiosity staying in the center of the lane. The driver has no good feeling for the edge of the car because of the sloping bonnet design. No 360 view. Charging ports has strange design and no very easily accessible. The front trunk needs better design.
Everything you mentioned I actually thought about , it is why I havent purchased this vehicle. It would be nice if they had at least a head up display or something
Great video and sorry about your dog . I am picking my model Y long soon I hope i don't have buyers remorse. Is my first tesla or EV car ever. Cheers!!
4k miles, had for 4 months - have continued issue of small air breeze through the column between the front and back doors when driving in colder weather or higher speed - brought in to tesla service they said within manufacturer limits and would have to pay >$200 for just a second opinion - for price of Model Y LR, not really acceptable for me
‘22 model 3 DM, 20,500 miles: 1 fit and finish, 1 broken camera with water intrusion, leaking roof panels staining headliner. Going in this morning for the roof. Not happy with the service interactions this far and this may be my 1st and only Tesla for that reason. I love the car on the other hand…
My VIN was assigned two weeks ago and my estimated delivery date disappeared, I texted them and asked for an update and they said I would get the text to schedule delivery soon. How long should I wait before following up again?
I have a 2021 MYLR and my wife has a M3SR. We have 16K and 8K miles respectively and have had zero service issues. My wife is NOT a car person but she loves her M3. I leased my Model Y because I have a CyberTruck reservation and will be getting one at approximately the same time as the lease end for the Model Y. Having the Model Y makes waiting 3 years for the CT tolerable. My previous car was a very nice 2018 Range Rover but honestly, I prefer the Model Y in every respect except perhaps a small difference in ride quality. The performance and long distance driving comfort of the Model Y is much better than the Range Rover so it was a very easy transition. Several of my friends have purchased Tesla's after driving mine. A test drive is all it takes to get people on board with Tesla.
Great review after 50,000 miles. I'm about to hit the same mileage also. I've only had my model 3 long range stay one time for service to replace my windshield that got a chip while driving. Other than that it's been better than any gas car I've owned.

@@geraldkoth654 The Roadster was never mass produced like the S/X/3/Y, so it's not valid comparison.
I bought a 2021 model Y long range, it has been 3 years. I drove 133k miles. Changed 2 sets of tires. Other than that, no issue.
Came here for the Tesla stuff, stayed for the doggos. I'm so sorry to hear about Simba and it definitely looks like you are giving him his best life. I can't imagine how tough it is for you and your wife. Sending y'all the best wishes!
Thanks so much appreciate you!
Wow so glad you had a great experience
Thanks!
Wow thanks so much for the love and support! Appreciate you!
I just wanted to say thank you, probably the reason I bought Model Y.
Awesome videos 😊
I have my Model Y for about 7 months and with 12k miles on it.
Every time I get into the car, I still drive with biggest smile on my face.
Never getting gas car again.
Tesla is the true cult 😂
aww thank you! The tesla is an amazing car!
@@ct1762
Model Y 56k and how much is the Porsche ?
@@ct1762did you just compare a $250k car to a $50k car? Even so I’d still take a Tesla over a porsche. Autopilot is too OP for road-trips.
I couldn’t be happier with mine, one of the best and easiest vehicles I’ve ever owned
2022 MYP
9 months 5,000 miles
Car is great no problems to date aside from minor fit at delivery. Which was 99 days order to delivery I’m happy
Awesome thanks Steve!
Awesome sorry for bad experience
Love that you guys are giving Simba an awesome adventure while he's battling cancer. I hope he heals soon. Love your channel too!
Thanks so much! Will keep you updated!
Model Y LR 2years 40,000 miles no issues at all. still using original tires and still have about 5 to 10 thousand left on them....... I had a puncture once it was fixed the same day.
Sorry to hear about your son! Praying for his speedy recovery my friend! God bless!
What did they end up doing to your battery pack? Does 100% charge increase the range now?
Wtf are you saying. Part of the pack can’t be at fault. You had a rear drive unit failure. That means motor not battery lol
So what’s the ending to your story Raffi? They fix it? How long ago was that? Did you get a new motor or battery?
Very informative, watching your videos convinced me to bought myTesla model Y LR. I had it since 12/12/22, so far no issues🤞
haha awesome!
7 months. 15k miles. 2 minor issues. Rear glass crack and turn signal error. Easy fixes which only took a few hours at service center. 22 M3LR
not bad!
@@wgemini4422
Many Tesla owners claim it to be a luxury car.
The German car dealers has been the best in my experience.
@@harmony3138 Really? From what I heard, they are the worst.
Dealers are 300% better than Tesla. They don’t say “within spec”…
@@wgemini4422 They're good, they just charge serious money.
Haah nice!! I will say the new tires I got are more quiet then stock tires
I picked my model y 1 month ago and so far i have drove on 3 different long trips, no issues yet, drives smooth and very fast, delivery day was so fast that i almost felt rushed, im from nebraska and have drove it on the snow and below weather temp which it does shortens the vehicle range.
Wow nice! Yeah sometimes they can push delivery like that
I've had my Model Y LR for 26 months, 33k miles, 0 issues. In the mile drive I only counted 24 Teslas on PCH.
come to IRVINE! lol
why am I crying in the middle of a tesla review video? 🥺🙈 your doggos are precious.
Aww thank you
Have mine for about 1.5 year currently at 60k miles with 0 issues. Only thing I noticed is my 100% is at 264 instead of 272.
Love it
I have a model Y long range for about 6months now 0 issues. Love it so much that we bought another one last month!! 🤩🤩
Haha awesome!
Yeah after the wrap sometimes the us didn’t work but it’s fine now weirdly
I talk to Tesla owners all the time where I work and not a single person has told me the regret it. They all say they will never buy anything else.
Hard to beat Tesla!
Yikes
I have 140,000 miles on my 17 Tesla P85S D and love it!! I used to be Mercedes owner for 35 years and will never go back! The maintenance and expense of operation have been near zero!
That’s awesome
My headliner’s plastic makes repetitive cracking sounds. Every time I go to the tesla service in San Diego it doesn’t make the sound. It only makes sounds when the plastic cools down. I’ve been to the service center once every month since I got the car. Both of my seat belt pillars rattles but at different temperatures of the day lol😢😢😢😢
Make sure to record it on video!!! THey need proof
I had mine model y placed november 15 2021 and got mine may 23 22 and Now FEb 7 23 with 5,250 miles
I’m sorry to hear about your dog with cancer, I hope the best for y’all.
If you have issues with a service center, try I different one. In SoCal my favorite is Costa Mesa.
Oh ok will do!
Yep 350 Miles is the Gold Standard test. Thanks for your input.
They were all minor. I think I even said that. Haha
@Everyday Chris must have missed that. Great video. I subscribed
Thank you!
Thank you for the video. I hope your dog is ok…;(. I lost a pet a few months ago and I was so so sad. I can see you love your baby. Blessings
Damn sorry to hear. Yeah they so random about stuff
I have a 2022 Tesla Model 3 Performance. It has just 10,000 miles approximately. It's just a week or two shy of a full year old. # of issues that I've had in for service = 4. Total number of service appointments = 6. Noise in door (never resolved), wheel alignment from the factory (kept for many days), Autopilot crossing the center line (never resolved), fogged pillar camera (changed but didn't resolved it). x
First off, I love the car a lot!
My experience
What I love:
It's so quick.
What went wrong and troubles, and some annoyances:
I'm a bigger guy at 6'1” and 240 lbs.
Screen readability
A lot of times the fine print is not readable in my seating position.
What I wish:
The range was just slightly more.
Wow! Thanks for the very thorough comment and for sharing your experience!
@@EverydayChris Thanks for noticing. Thanks for your videos too.
Again another issue that many 2023 MY owners have reported on the Tesla forums..This was my 2nd vin so if I rejected it, they would have canceled my order, well looking back now, and with the price decrease i should have.
yay congrats! No more RX?!
I hope the QA team get better once they smooth out that crazy end of quarter delivery push.
awesome
I’ve put about 22500km on my Model 3 Performance in 9 months. My biggest issues have been fit/finish (rattles and loose bits some of which have been fixed some not) and the hundreds of phantom brakes with autopilot and TACC. I’m not sure how long I will keep it but my next car won’t be a Tesla.
2021 tesla y almost 30.000 miles,no problems, plus one friend discovered no heating battery required to be able to drive 😀
I’ve been a tesla investor/fan since 2018 and I finally ordered a model y performance a week ago very excited but very nervous!
Same same.
Excited for you! If you notice any fit and finish issues (use a checklist) upon delivery, take pics and schedule a service appt right away. Be super, super nice to the service crew as they’re overworked and probably get treated like crap by other people and hopefully all is good! Enjoy!
@@HypocritesExposd if there’s issues should I still accept delivery and they’ll fix it for free right?
@@HypocritesExposd can you write the checklist of some common stuff please? i ordered a MXP 2 weeks ago almost
woohoo! You'll have a "voice" when you get it for sure
issues with the battery and being out of commish makes it a no go for us. Going Lexus Hybrid instead.
When i requested a tire change from tesla, the mobile service guy replaced the O ring out of the blue.. did not even know it needed to be changed..
Love my model 3 but it sucks that you have to pay a subscription to have apple music!? if they were to charge that, it (at a minimum) should have ALL the apps I get with Carplay and MORE... that part sucks big time.
2023 MYLR…
1700 mi, no issues.
Fit/finish issues fixed in a few hours at a service center.
7:45 What spot is that?
check out my mammoth road trip video!
Wow a whole week!! Yeah customer service needs some work
Sure argue about a panel gap, or maybe a squeaky door all none real issues.
Another stellar video bro. Can’t wait to get mine soon. Been bingeing your vids.
haha thank you bro! Let me know if you have any questions
Haha yeah true growing pains thanks for watchin!
You’ve only driven 30k in the past two years?

I got my Tesla model 3 from Irvine as well!!!!!! :) Honestly I love my car...No complains yet. I've had my car for almost a month.
Aww thank so much! Your chow chow is in good hands! Hope you and your family stay happy and healthy
you must live a very boring A to B local life. i travel 500miles every month on mini road trips to visit family and 3000 miles twice a year for vacation from east coast to west coast. if i drove an EV my aprox 3000 mile trip would take 2 WEEKs doubling not only my travel time but also my cost due to having to rent double the amount of motels to sleep.... due to all the obscene charging wait times, NOT only does it take almost 1hr to charge but often times theres a wait BEFORE even charging LOL total JOKE. ill keep my diesel for life.

Where was your car manufactured? Germany?
@@georgeborrelli3134 Shanghai.
That’s your standard ? 12,000km? My tdi has 330,000km & am only considering buying a 23 model y used in 2 years when my car rolls over 400,000km.
7500 miles and everything is working perfect? uhh yeahhh duhhh its brand new
I have 19,500 for 8 months now on my model 3 long range and never had an issue so far.
Where exactly did you go in Arizona / Oregon with the water?! Looks beautiful!!
Check out my Oregon road trip videos!!

How many years until they iron it out?
5 month M3LR owner. '22 model. No service issues but the black paint sucks! Do not get black! Never been to any car wash, always hand washed and garaged. Rock chips galore on the hood. My 2006 Chevy Cobalt's black paint was WAY better than this, and that car was 18k MSRP and had 120k miles when I got rid of it and the paint on that car's hood looked better than my 65k Tesla's now after only 10k miles!

They always say that. I don’t know why. Just gotta be firm and say no not until I see the car on the inside
It appears to be a pretty significant upgrade based on a lot of the content that I've seen so far.
It breaks my heart to hear about your baby, and I’m so happy he has parents like you and your wife that love him so much and are striving to make his final time on this earth as enjoyable as you can. Anybody have issues with the paint on their Tesla? I just took delivery of a black model 3 and the paint already had scratches, scuffs, and haze. Wondering if this is common. Im surprised at how bad the paint quality is.
Possibly one reason why they changed to white as the default color. On the positive side, less paint reduces weight and improves range
🙏🙏🙏 for Simba. Great video, thank you for sharing your experience with us. 😊
Thank you!
Toms arguments were actually all plus for me.
It is not replacement battery, but they refurbish (fix) it.

Yeah either the seat belt or the headrest!
I have had my model Y LR for 2 months. My only issue so far were 2 windows that had to be calibrated
Not bad

Sorry, the rest was hard to watch after you holding your dog. I lost my dog in my arms so I know the feeling. It’s like losing a child. God bless 🙏🏾
Agree. Thanks for stopping by
My VIN was assigned two weeks ago and my estimated delivery date disappeared, I texted them and asked for an update and they said I would get the text to schedule delivery soon.
Wow range rovers are good cars
which stop mode are you using now? hold or creep?
Hold always
Great review after 50,000 miles. I'm about to hit the same mileage also. I've only had my model 3 long range stay one time for service to replace my windshield that got a chip while driving. Other than that it's been better than any gas car I've owned.
Awesome!
