I was raised in a dominate Caucasian church. However, when we visited Grand Ma in the summer, I would go to the Black church next door, my grand parents donated the land it was built on after their church had burned down. I have to say that attending both churches made me a better person. I still remember the love they showed this little Caucasian girl. I felt so blessed.

I'm a mutt grew up in the white babtist church. Went to a black babtist church. It was like a party people dancing in the Iles and pews, and when the preacher starts preaching ya feel it in ya soul. After service is dinner usualy some best soul food you will ever eat. And ya leave feeling full of the Lord, full stomach and feeling the love.
When I first moved to the big city, I spent a few months visiting different churches and this included visiting my first black church. It was quite the experience. When they announced who was visiting and asked them to stand I nearly shouted, "do I need to? I'm sticking right out here! There are people across town who can tell I'm visiting." 🤣 But it was a good experience and we're all brothers and sisters. ☦ Looking forward to hanging out with everybody one day in our Lord's kingdom.

Great people, I just don't think their Doctrine is 100% secure. I've been going to Pentecostal churches now for the last 8 years. But I'm a southern baptist at heart cuz that's where I got my teachings from when I grew up. But an ADHD guy needs an ADHD type Church.

Back in 1976 my parents brought 9 kids into a black baptists church in Chicago and they were so happy to have us. Neon white cross on top of the door. They were awesome to us white folk.
I believe Spirit does have a color. Its Light. Light is made of all colors. Scientifically, the colors in light that are not being absorbed is actually what gets reflected back off for us to visually see that color. For example, a tree leaf is absorbing all colors of light except the shade of green you are seeing. That reflects off the leaf and we see that leaf as green. Lol. I went on a bit of tangent. Lol

When I was 6 or 7. The Mt. Zion Church came to our church for a service. Mt. Zion was black folks church. They were standing up ,clapping ,hollering amen the whole time. Almost musical. Haha. They brought tons of energy. I loved it. I specifically remember asking my mom over & over when they were coming back. Haha. This was my 1st memories of black people.
I am white and the most loving church I had been to until my new one in my new state was one where I was one of two white people who attended a black church in south east Oakland. The women would throw their arms around me and hug me, say welcome to the house of the Lord...I love that you had a similar experience in reverse. Loved this video.

I went to a black church and they made me feel like I grew up in the church and went away and returned after several years later. They said stuff like, child, where you been?, and what chu been doing?, we missed you so much! I just rolled with it like they were family. It was great. They did make me pay for lunch though, I thought that was a little rude, but the soul food was awsome. Hahaha
I grew up southern baptist and became an atheist a few years ago. But, I thoroughly enjoy conversations with theists. I hate abrasive arguing and contentious debates. I love seeing the world through the eyes of others.

I grew up in the country and there was no such thing as multiracial church. It was just church. When I moved to the city, I learned that Christian's were self-segregating. It confused me. That's why I like Church of Christ (Not United Churches of Christ, those people are evil racists) because it's just church. Depending on area, we might have an additional service in the native language of some members who don't have a strong grasp of English yet. I've been to congregations which had Spanish, Korean, and Chinese (Mandarin) services. And we all gathered at a restaurant or home for lunch!!!

That's gotta be a southern Baptist church. I grew up with the fire and brimstone style of preaching and you had better be stoic three entire time or you're getting that shoulder crush from dad. Only ever got pulled out of church once as a kid.... I never misbehaved again in church.
When I was about 10 or 11 years old we started going to a pentecostal church. It was quite the mixed bag. Pastor Venable was a short stout white guy with a booming voice. Assistant pastor Brother Gerald was a tall, slender soft spoken down home country white guy that prayed a lot at the end of service. The congregation was black, Hispanic and white. Those people where the wildest people I had ever seen. 2 - 3 times per service people would speak in tongues. Pastor Venable would get caught up and he'd throw down his mic, loosen his tie and start shouting the word until the heavens shook. People would start jumping out their seats like whack-a-moles in a penny arcade. They start shouting "Praise God" and "Amen". Then they would spontaneously combust into singing and break out tambourines and those wooden fish. This kind of spooky little white woman with wispy white hair would start jogging laps around the pews. It was just pandemonous fun
Since we're addressing colors and churches I prefer to go to black churches. I always feel more welcome. When i used to go to church it was always a money trap. I miss my Miss Salley of beckley wv. If anyone knows her please tell her Sarah still loves and misses her and thinks of her often! 🥰 Also my momma would beat me in church often, I hate when people dont have their kids under control. One more thing.. hugs to ya brother ..
So I'm a white girl and when I was younger family drag me to Church all the time and I would do anything not to go so one time I wore the gothic clothing I had, chain pants and everything and I was still greeted so friendly they were so nice to me and everyone just like aww look at her you look so adorable today, I'd be like I'm trying to be gothy kick me out but they friendly and they want you back so you get all the love... And yes at my church at the beginning of the service we all stand up and greet our neighbors and sometimes that incorporated hugs
The peekaboo thing happened to me too. I've looked at the kid and said Booo! He got so scared and the face he made was so funny me and my brother were laughing in that catholic church for what felt like an eternity. We were not able to stop and I bet they've thought we are devil incarnate.

lmao sometimes you need that hug more than you know. Memorial day service this year i was barely getting through it (remembering some brothers) and some little lady gave me a hug and i cried like a baby. Embarrassing, but if there's ever a place for it- it's in the Lord's house.
