@@christopherconard2831 Same here. Nothing strips wax like dish soap. But I did try it on a car that I applied a ceramic coating. That stuff just laughed at the detergent.
Most dish detergents have some kind of aggrigate in them to help remove food I do believe, it scratches the clear coat on your car, that's why you often see a bunch of cars with odd spots where paint is faded or the clear coat it missing.
Ok, what it really does is speed up the oxidation of the paint. This will dull the paint much quicker. A good couple layers of professionally applied clearcoat can be washed, but I still recommend against using any dish detergent. I also recommend using a good clearcoat filler and buffing on a regular basis.
Dish detergent wont hurt the clearcoat. It will, however, remove any amount of wax you may have on the paint. Doing paint and body for a living gives hints to what's good and not good for your paint.

You should be around when we wash our Jeep. And... been using Dawn dish detergent for 30+ years. Best soap for getting the vehicle clean. Think of wetting the vehicle as a pre-soak. Starts to loosen up the bugs, dirt, and grime. Rinses off the small stuff that will scratch the paint. Rinse each section again just before washing it, and immediately afterwards. Wait 'till you see how we clean the UNDERSIDE!
