Basically what Sakurai said that it would not be possible to include Mai in Smash without increasing the Japanese age rating of Smash considerably. Nintendo had a clear target rating for Smash so that’s why it was never on the table.

There it is! The DLC character for all good boys and girls, this introduction was very beautiful and well done, Mai is more beautiful in the Street Fighter 6 style than I imagined and I loved the part of her doing the moves with the fan on fire, I can't wait for Mai to arrive in the game!
personally I would prefer that the animators stay on the 3D model of Dead or Alive, this one doesn't always convince me 100% and for me the DOA one remains the most beautiful 3D model that Mai Shiranui has ever had.

There it is! The DLC character for all good boys and girls, this introduction was very beautiful and well done, Mai is more beautiful in the Street Fighter 6 style than I imagined and I loved the part of her doing the moves with the fan on fire, I can't wait for Mai to arrive in the game!

personally I would prefer that the animators stay on the 3D model of Dead or Alive, this one doesn't always convince me 100% and for me the DOA one remains the most beautiful 3D model that Mai Shiranui has ever had.
