NEW ZEALAND v ENGLAND 2ND TEST PREVIEW

- The New Zealand All Blacks have not been beaten at Eden Park in Auckland for 30 years. One of the longest home town streaks in world sport.
This weekend England has a chance to make history and to tie up the current test series against the All Blacks.
A week ago in Dunedin the first test between these two sides was a thriller and surely with all of the pressure on the All Blacks to maintain their record in Auckland England will come out playing freer and have a real chance to knock the Kiwis off.
In this episode of Inside Rugby I take a look at the game and preview it with my thoughts and opinions. I would love to read your comments on what you might think will happen come Saturday evening local time.

Thanks for the preview mate, good luck New Zealand.
Come on England 🌹
There you go, dont forget to check the review video out now.
I loved the game last weekend. Credit to both teams. This weekend will be won by the team that wants it more and believes in them selves. Looking forward to it.
Yes it was a great game. Thanks for your comment, enjoy the game
Great stuff Mark. As a South African I’m going to say the All Blacks to win by 15pts but if England can start strong & get a 6 or 10pt lead at halftime… then it’s game on 😮🏉
It was game on......thanks for the comment, the review video is out now
Tommy Freeman i see as one of those underrated players. he is a decent support player less so on scoring, but good with defensive work, breakdown assistance and passing.
He is just unnoticeable but when i watch him he is doing a lot of stuff right.
Terrific, thanks for sharing your views on Tommy Freeman.
Love your postive response Mark always interesting feed back Ab's are use to fighting for their country and will do us proud at home Eden Park AB's by 20
There you go, I am on that side, thanks for the comment, enjoy the game
Good one this one Mark
Great going❗️
This weekend is going to be a smasher
Think Razor’s men have a huge challenge at hand, but they’re on better footing now than last week
• The Bokke need the AB’s at best performance levels for the old rivalry to continue
So, a revitalized AB Team with some ‘surfer unconvensionality’ and
‘sun shining on them’ will be welcomed
At the same time, Borthwick has found his feet and is most definately going to come out ‘all guns ablazing’…‼️
Its going to be a hugely entertaining and telling encounter
• Think you are right
Eden Park is home ground
The English will battle and the AB supporters are going to do what the Bokke supporters did last weekend at Loftus
(Mind you, playing at Twickenham levels the playing field again for ENG!)
• Thanks again: MASSIVE‼️
🪖
Thank you, brilliant stuff as always. I am sure there will be many new talking points after these games and some old ones re surfacing, enjoy the weekends games and good luck.
The funny thing about Christie , I was surprised to hear on sports radio yesterday statistics show he is the quickest and most mobile around the park in nz as far as getting from contest to contest . So that part is obviously not the issue .
It has to be his clearance speed once he is there
Never trust what you hear on sports radio mate......My reference is related directly to your last point, his clearance speed, he hesitates 90% of the time. Plus I will add this, he has played 22 times for the All Blacks, can you name a game where you can say Christie played brilliantly in that game....
Yes it is his clearance speed. He gets the ball and then he pauses for about a second or two before passing
@@davidhughes6 yeah I wasn’t trying to make excuses for him , just trying to work out what the coaches see in him,
I suspect if roigard and tj were fit , that would be the pair in the 23 in this series,
So keeping that in mind we are down to choices 3 and 4
I think the All Blacks having more experience around Nic Berry being the ref will do wonders for them. I can see a lot of penalties going the way of the ABs and them building a lead through 3s
Josh, thanks for the comment, lets see if you are right around that, I will be watching with interest. Enjoy the game
Just hearing that Furbank has been withdrawn due to injury and Steward is starting at 15. Frustrating loss for England, but Steward brings his own point of difference.
Other than that, largely as you were for England. Expect a bigger performance from England (They’ll have to, basically) and expect them to be much more competitive at the breakdown. They’ll also go after DMac and Christie who could be a weak link in the ABs side with Underhill looking to put in some big hits.
Huge, huge effort for England to turn the ABs over at Eden though, but put in some good attacking plays as they did against Ireland and France, then they’re in with a shout.
Big shame about Furbank with a back injury and Freedie will step up and this is his opportunity to embrace it. Agree, I think NZ are suspect around 9,10 with this english back three and that could be a point of attack for England tomorrow. Enjoy the game and good luck.
The England team has evolved into a top test side, but they still lost to the All Blacks coming off a massive layoff. I don't know how things will go this weekend, the prize for England is huge this weekend so they won't lack for motivation. But I expect the ABs to be firing and very aggressive in contact. The breakdown will again be brutal with England stepping up there. But so will NZ. Will be interested to see if the ABs can go another 80 without losing a player to the bin - a hallmark of the Foster regime. Gun to my head, NZ by 8-10.
Please no gun to the head.......thanks for the comment. Discipline will be very important in this one for sure, so lets watch that. I am picking a yellow somewhere.......lets see how your prediction holds up. Enjoy the game...s
Interesting comments regarding razor and the different kind of pressure,
Part of that I believe, may be the very different types of game styles he is going to have to coach against now , very different to the super rugby sides he has so much success against .
That rush defense England brought last week would have been a very different experience for the coaches and the contact area was on a different level of intensity
Thanks very much for your comment........Not directed at you, BUT In my humble opinion NZ and NZ'ers need to stop talking about the rush defense as if it is some unknown kind of curse they werent expecting. SA, FRA, ENG all play rush defense against us, and its been happening for 7 years. Its time to put up and sort out solutions.
@@insiderugbywithmark yeah I know , I guess the issue is , we haven’t yet coped with it too well. And it’s not just nzers talking about it, our opponents are too . Hopefully this group of coaches set the platform and puts all that to rest .
To slightly change subject, can’t help but feel the boks have pinched our best attack coach in tony brown .
Won’t to see a better performance from the ABs better set piece England has a dam good chance to win Can’t Wait
Lets see what happens, and whether you will be happy or not, thanks for the comment
This time my money is on England, Mark. They were so close last weekend and they will be hungry. They had a lot of time now to analise the AB. They are a dangerous side most of the time. Yes, Auckland is is the graveyard of many a team on Eden Park, but the S. Q can be broken at any time.
Good luck with that money of yours. The Eden Park stat has to end sooner or later, question is, will it be sooner or later.
Yes I see the English ( outside the squad ) applying pressure via the match officials for Saturday scrum regress anything to gain parity I suspect I've also noticed calls that England have nothing to loose therefore can play without any inhibitions so in theory the pressure is on the NZ camp in a must win .for anyone unfamiliar the Pressure and Expectation is the undergarment of the Black jersey it's always been that way which can explain in part the endless pursuit for excellence in other words PRESSURE IS NOTHING NEW and firmly believe.its on England.thy know they have a good squad and will come at the All blacks with everything we saw the blueprint in Dunedin its gonna be 🔥 GO THE ALL BLACKS
Thanks so much for sharing your views on this one. Enjoy.
The outside drive by the AB prop was obvious.
Yip Aussie ref Aussies just hate Nz whoopin their asss all the time he gonna be a prick
Good assessment
Thank you, nice comment
agreed with the midfield and half back. Forwards should be better for the hit out last week
Thanks for the comment, enjoy the game
Do I need to say New Zealand? 😁✨ AB of course!
You had better !
Who's ever comfortable with the media? Even experienced international coaches get flustered & prickly.
Thanks for your comment. Many people are comfortable with the media, some more than others.
I forecast that NZ would beat England for the first test. The result is going to be the same for the second test, but by a wider margin. NZ by 15 points.
There you go, confident prediction, good luck.
I'd love to be wrong!
As an All Blacks fan, I wish you were right! But unless the forwards improve markedly and the goal kicking improves leaps and bounds, ENG will take the game!🥹🥹🥹
Old story and early days for Razor and team but we didn’t handle line speed well. That’s bought us back to the pack since Lions 2017, despite having the most potent offense in Rugby.
What innovation can they bring to crack rush defence?
The great Zinzan once threw a crossfield gridiron pass in a test.
Left field as it is, i think we should look at the feasibility of bringing that type of pass to rugby - getting the ball out wide quickly via flat overhead passing because kick passes, which hang in the air longer are defendable and hard to consistently pull off.
I’m thinking of a tall Jordie throwing overhead to the outside, don’t know how hard that skill would be to master with the heavier rugby ball? however Jordie is an uber talented sporting freak!
Riki Ellison (Tamati’s relative) retired to Christchurch and should know a lot about passing skills after 10 years or so NFL.
Like Mick Byrne coaching his AFL kicking skills to AB’s for a decade.
Tomorrow, we have the bigger pack, stronger scrum, weaker lineout, stronger bench. If forwards are up and committed to win go forward, we’ll win quite comfortably.
England’s best strategy would be to play like they did against Bok’s in WC, not like last week.
Gridiron pass? Love your left field thinking. I remember a game when i was a kid and the Fiji team were using that tactic!
And thats why I love the comments on this channel, you never know what you will get, brilliant. I remember the Zinzan pass well, was a monster and right on the money. Lets see what Razor does. Yes I think England need to change tactics a bit, we will see. Thanks for the comment, enjoy the game.
"They had that great performance in Dunedin"... and lost...
But losing close to the All Blacks is considered great.... #stillgotthatblackaura
Lets see how things pan out. Thanks for the comment and enjoy the game
England just lost by the point. They didn't want it hard enough. They played well to.
They did play well, lets see how much they want to tomorrow. Thanks for the comment
So much NZ arrogance
Really? Kiwis as a bunch are pretty humble. I wonder if you could be more specific? What has been said or written that you think is arrogant?
@keithcrane469 prefer to elaborate, did you watch the video or just come to troll. If its the later this channel isnt for you buddy.
Razor should just tell media to all pisss off do the bare minimum it’s not helping anyone apart from nosey people like us wanting to know what going on lol 😳🤌🤌
Agree.....we can be annoying :-)
