I have a whip I never installed simply because of how annoying the wiring was going to be. This is exactly what I need to make that job a whole lot easier!
Would like to see you make this for the JKU. It looks like it makes installation so much easier. If you already make this for the JKU add it back to your store please. Been following you since CJ Off Road. Love your videos
This product is absolutely phenomenal! I’m in the process of customizing my plate light and relocating it to my driver side back light. I’m basically getting a new plate holder custom and this would definitely help me wiring up the lights which is basically motorcycle plate lights so the head of the lights are very small and flushed which would fit so perfect in the license plate frame without anything sticking out. You basically found my problem and fixed it with a simple fix without me slicing splicing soldering wires. Thank you!!!
I mirror DistinctionDino’s reply. Half these SWFLA Jeeps are 2-doors. As for new ones. I feel ya. NO ONE wants to have a minimal profit margin 2-door sitting on the lot when they could have 127 4-doors, 83.2% of the 4XE, and most of them having been there for at least 100 days since no one is buying $60,000+ Jeeps at 8% interest anymore. I LOVE my 2-door and rekindle that every time I drive it more than 5 minutes.
That’s awesome! My wife has a disc light behind the spare tire and I have it connected to the tow hitch light connector because I didn’t want to cut any of the jeeps wires so I think this would work great. I am excited to be able to clean up my wires that hang below the Jeep bumper, thanks.
Awesome product I was actually just about to tackle hooking up a whip light, license plate light and reverse light! This will make it so much easier and cleaner!
Great solution for those new Motobilt taillights with the bajas. I’ll be ordering these when I get my hands on the lights. Great content! Thank you! Hope to see you at a jeep show soon.
You had me at plug and play. I’m a fairly newish Jeep owner and find myself hesitant on mods involving electrical components but this made it look sooo easy
That LED whip mount would be fine *off-road* but in many, if not ALL jurisdictions, you can only run lights on the back that are red (except plate light and bak up lights) on the rear. Let the flaming begin. Nice wire harness you developed!
@@DIRTROADCRED exactly my point. Just have to remember to turn them off before hitting the road! They would look awesome in a group on a trail at night.
This harness is going on my build list for the wrangler I just purchased, it will save labor! I’ve been looking to mount a single rear light and I think I’m going to order a license plate relocation kit and utilize that mount for my light where you thought of mounting Rough Country light . I might even use that RC light in your video to eliminate the stock 3rd brake light.
I disliked the whole wiring through the vent on mine, so i used the rubber plug/grommet that is on the passenger-side of the tire carrier. You can fish the harness through that oval hole that is just above the first christmas-tree clip holding the factory harness to the tailgate, and right out the back. Then just cut a slot or a hole into the rubber plug/grommet for your harness to go through. I recently did this with the license plate light extension that came with the teraflex relocate kit, and it looks almost factor when you are done. I even fished the wire through the braided sleeve the factory harness uses instead of ziptying it to it.
Anything that makes wiring easier I’m definitely for! I need to get one of these for our jeep. I just did the license plate relocation bracket to the spare tire I could use a license plate light.
if you remove/unravel a small amount of the tape on the wire tunnel/check strap you can route wires through it alongside the factory wiring. This allows for a stealth install. I have done this on multiple accessories/parts and makes for a very clean install.
I like the product. My ONLY two asks would be 1) A constant power on, even if it was 10A or less, and 2) Don’t bundle all the wires so that I can run the backup circuit through the central body plug under the jack and under the vehicle. I would imagine that a “T-Tap” like this would be easy in a gladiator since the 7-pin already has these circuits wired in. Beautiful family, Matt. And that means you too, RYAN!!!
Our new Tail Light harness is compatible with your Gladiator! Confirmed function and fitment this evening on a loaded 2022 Gladiator and everything was exactly the same! We still have some harnesses available from our first batch! They sure are selling out quickly, thank you for all the support!!!! www.dirtroadcredmedia.com/products/jeep-wrangler-jl-jlu-taillight-harness-extension-plug-n-play
Thanks for the vid. I’m an electrical newbie. Can you wire multiple products at a time to those wires or just one product? For ex. Your led light AND illuminated whip at same time?
The harness is a really good idea, nice job! Say, what happened to the rear cargo shelf you guys had? Any chance of that ever coming back into production?
Going to do a group order on them again soon, the problem is we buy them in large batches and it can get quite expensive to have so many sitting around!
New subscriber, love the videos. Super informative and helpful. Keep it up guys. I may need to get one of your harnesses. Seems like a great addition. ❤
Dude that harness is awesome. Can one be installed on the driver side light harness as well? That way you can use the passenger side one for tailgate lights and the driver side for say roll cage or under bumper lights.
Oh, I did not know that. Thanks for the info. But still very useful. Especially when all these jeeps need better back up lights to see at night with the camera.
How would you wire the Teraflex with your wiring harness? you mentioned you did this prior to using the harness and it took forever. What about with it?
Great content as always, but WTH(where the heck) is the 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler JL 2-DOOR Rear Cargo Shelf? I been waiting patiently... Also, make a harness that plugs directly into the factory tow connector that would very beneficial too!
Hey buddy, I'm a little confused on what you've done, unless you tell me you have a "magic device" in the harness. How is it that you're able to just put this harness in and avoid Can Bus faults? I thought the Can bus system would catch imbalances electrically and trigger the faults that are used to let us know something is wrong etc. For example, you hooked up multiple things and didn't trigger a fault? Was that because you never reached the amperage limit that would trigger faults or?? Just curious.

It would be nice to get a tailights harness for the TJ
Really neat products! Spent the last 2 days researching 2-door's. Unfortunately the ones I found are over 800 miles away. Loving your channel.
Dang! Thanks for watching
Damn I feel like half the jeeps in Florida are 2 door. Don’t know they were “rare”

Make a harness for the front DRL’s. That would make hooking up an LED light for the side fender vent easy.

How you can activate the chase light mode on the RC Lights?
Definitely I am going to buy your harness
I have a ring behind the spare. It has running, brake, backup, and turn signals. Your harness will help, but I will still need to splice 2 others.
Dang that's a lot of wiring.
Very cool product! Bring some to the SMJI to sell.

Did I miss or would that whip work as a break light and reverse with that harness? Or is it not smart enough for those features automatically?
The whip light we got did have a brake light feature!
Just watched this video and love this design! Will you guys have any at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion?
Thinking we will bring some!
