Stress can be a factor in hole disease, if your fiss gets it and the water is in good condition, stress and poor quality food should be looked into. Great vids you make and the fish look nice
While your activated carbon is fresh, it will absorb impurities, organics and toxins from your water.I'm not sure but the belief is that If left in for too long, the carbon becomes "exhausted" and will leach those toxins back into the water causing poor water quality. Carbon usually has a lifespan of around 4 - 6 weeks depending on you tank. Great video mate, Oscars are a fish the everyone with a tank big enough should keep at least once in their lives.
Totally agree GV they are a fantastic fish to keep , thanks for the info on carbon that would make sense , I don’t use it at all now but when I had lots of bog-wood previously it helped with the tannins , I would assume allot of people will buy it and leave it in there tank never changing it for new stuff , maybe that’s the issue 👍🏻
