Not if you hate using magic in the game. I love the berserker myth and playing it to the fullest. Big HP and Big Stam and never get hit cause dodge roll nulifies dmg. Its more skill intense but not a problem for most
I think the best way to use the Staff of Fracturing is to fire it straight up. The shot breaks up high and rains down. Usefully for fire over walls of fortresses when you can't see you target.
in my experience it doesnt seem to do a lot of damage unless you get a direct hit. I could be wrong though. I haven't tried using it as you have described. Ill give it a go!
An interesting combination with the current bloodstone "berserk" low hp = more dmg would be the lifesteal from RandyKnapp's Epic Loot. Depending on the strength of the enchant, (magic, rare, epic, legendary, mythic), I've seen Lifesteal ranging from 1-5%. Could be massive lifesteal potential when you're low health, damage boost from bloodstone, then getting even more hp back on hit. Would have to test if they do interact that way.
I also thought about primal mace and thundering berserker axes. Just root and damage them with the mace and then finish with the awesome lightning axes
I'm confused why people are saying you have to lose 50 health to gain the 10 damage on blood stone that other weapons have. It doesn't say that you gain 0.2 damage per missing health. It says 0.2% damage per missing health. So you don't gain 10 damage, but 10% increased damage. The slayer has 170 slash, lose 50hp and you now deal 187 slash. Lose 100hp and now you deal 20% increased damage. now you deal 204 slash damage. That's CRAZY. and if you just rock all health foods, you are essentially providing yourself with higher potential of damage increases. if you have 300 hp and you lose 200. youre still sitting at 100HP but you have a 40% damage increase.

How did you find levelling up the axes, and what was your skill level for axes arriving to the Ashalnds.
i totally agree with you. Up until the berzerkir, axes were for chopping trees for me, not for combat. Dual handing them really makes up for the slower attack speed of previous attack speed as you mentioned. Admittedly, my axe skill was definitely low when I arrived there. Your skill level is absolutely a consideration when choosing the best weapon
For goals so far I am set on the fire sword, lightning dual axes, and the poison bow. TBH I was hoping the red gem would have given a life steal effect T.T

Important info for melee players. Yes new thunder axes are the best dpm machine in the game BUT you have two of them which means you cannot use a shield and parry any 1* or 2* effectively (maybe with a high block skill u can parry a 1 star) This means that if u used swords, axes, maces before with a shield, you are now losing that high def parry capability. I strongly suggest making few weapons to always be ready, their durability is also low so you will often see yourself repairing it all the time. You need to pick your weapons based on your preferences. For example, thubndering nidhogg is the fan favourite as it can deal chain lighting strike, but for me it does lower dmg than my bloody nidhogg since im always tanking every fight with my friends on a server. Which means im actually getting better dpm without the thundering chain chance. So look at your playstyle and pick the best, whether you like to risk or play safe from a distance, how often u parry etc. Everything matters. As for the balancing issues, we still need a proper balance patch, but maybe we can get one in the future who knows.
MAN I wish Dyrnwyn was an actually interesting weapon. Technically it isn't *bad* but I think the main issue with it is that it's boring. People think it'll be useful come deep north but if I'm going to be completely honest that just sounds like pure copium in a definitional sense, since a *torch* has more fire damage than dyrnwyn does. You would have to craft the entire biome around enemies being immune to frost, lightning, AND rooting to try to make dyrnwyn good, but even then people will just use the staves with plentiful fire damage...
I made the thunder axes myself. A issue I find with them however is that cause they attack so fast their durability becomes a problem. Feels like they break double as fast as other weapons. This could easily be fixed by letting us upgrade our gear more then once. I feel its such a waste in general and make using the axes kinda annoying. It makes you feel bad when using them against easy enemies
A bit late to this discussion, but I feel the troll staff could be fantastic on hoards when paired with a major health mead. While you regen they take down enemies, and they are dead by the time you are ready to fight again
For me switching between the staff of frost, staff of protection, and staff of the wild just can't be beat. It's kinda disgusting the amount damage dealt and makes the Ashlands pretty much trivial for the most part. Just got to keep eye on protection is all.
I haven't progressed very far yet but i captured my 1st Fortress. I'm using Mistwalker for melee Spine bow + cold arrows for ranged And 2 magic weapons that work great in Ashlands, the Staff of the Wild (serious recommend) and the Staff of embers. Somehow the frost staff has been underwhelming here.
Really nice weapon choices. I've really enjoyed the staff of fracturing surprisingly. In a lot of ways its worse than the staff of embers but still very good. Staff of the wild is SUPER busted but i don't love the playstyle of it. I like being more active in my play if that makes sense
DO NOT upgrade the base level weapon if you plan to add an element to it because no matter what level the base level is, the elemental version will always start at level 1 so you would be wasting materials upgrading the base :)

Everything matters.
As for the balancing issues, we still need a proper balance patch, but maybe we can get one in the future who knows.
Totally agree. Everyone should play the way they enjoy the most!
Never used a shield. I use dodge roll aggresivly and never get in trouble
Another awesome video
My guy! thank you. Glad you enjoyed
I agree. it needs a bonus effect like from the other elemental infused weapons. Like a random chance to shoot a fireball or something
Fire wave sounds more interesting than a fire ball

I made the thunder axes myself. A issue I find with them however is that cause they attack so fast their durability becomes a problem. Feels like they break double as fast as other weapons. This could easily be fixed by letting us upgrade our gear more then once. I feel its such a waste in general and make using the axes kinda annoying. It makes you feel bad when using them against easy enemies
ooh I didn't notice that. yeah that is annoying
That cape is out of control ;D
its sick!
A bit late to this discussion, but I feel the troll staff could be fantastic on hoards when paired with a major health mead. While you regen they take down enemies, and they are dead by the time you are ready to fight again
trollstav is for sure good. and badass!
we love to see spears being nice
I have never been a fan but with the elemental chance there is potential there!
For me switching between the staff of frost, staff of protection, and staff of the wild just can't be beat. It's kinda disgusting the amount damage dealt and makes the Ashlands pretty much trivial for the most part. Just got to keep eye on protection is all.
This is exactly what I have been doing. It makes the ashlands kinda easy. Totally agree
I haven't progressed very far yet but i captured my 1st Fortress.
I'm using Mistwalker for melee
Spine bow + cold arrows for ranged
And 2 magic weapons that work great in Ashlands, the Staff of the Wild (serious recommend) and the Staff of embers.
I like being more active in my play if that makes sense
better upgrade the quality or add the element first ?
DO NOT upgrade the base level weapon if you plan to add an element to it because no matter what level the base level is, the elemental version will always start at level 1 so you would be wasting materials upgrading the base :)
Your good as long as you dont use a melee weapon. You just get swarmed instantly and you cant survive without magic.
Yeah magic has been my go to so far (however, I'm still using mistlands gear at the moment)
Magic armor is for pussies!
Be a man and use a heavy armor and smash those skeletons while playing doom music in background.
please note the roots from the new mage weapon can take damage and be destroyed by fire, not the best thing to use on the new boss haha
is that true?
@@SpazzyjonesGaming yeah, mobs dont really target them specifically, its more the aoe/fire damage that can destroy them especially the new mob boss fight
@@Waddlington good to know
Lightning goes wild.
so strong!
how did you get your stamina that freaking high ?
3 stamina foods! And 3 ashland stamina foods for good measure
The Slayer is obviously a Berserk reference, lol
what is Berserk?
@SpazzyjonesGaming It is a Manga/ Anime. It's super dark, but the main character's name is Guts and he uses a giant great sword called the "Dragon Slayer". Look up the sword, it is very similar in design, especially the way that the character carries the sword
@@kyhowton6229 ah i gotcha. very well could be a reference
. ...shiitake snow peas just got real folks,,
Snow peas. Waaat
who in the dev team desided it would be good idea to hip fire the cross bow ? its a real shame and for that reason iam out
why do you dislike that?
probably the same guy that did the spear atk animation, he/she must be purged!
The sword of the allfather
Is that what Dyrnwyn is? Badass
Berserker Axes are not that great when you actually play the game. Because as we can see in yout video your helth go to 0 fast, and high dps will not help you.
You need reasonable range weapon.
Number1 - Lightning/root bow
Number2 - Ligtning one handed sword with a shield
Number3 - Root Berserker axes (lightning or root) - just for fan as they looks nice.
Darnwing - for now its not good at all.
oh and yes, dont forget the Troll vand. Its huge :)
I still like the axes. For range Im more of a spellcaster. Like you said, the trollstav is a blast!
It's now : Dark Souls 4 Valheim
OH YEAH!
We even got the grave lord Rito 😂
@@daveyfrancy3118 i never thought of that haha

It’s a weapon review. Not a basic tutorial of readily available information
magic weapon is just a trash
whaaat! no way jose
Dude, spear is best weapon in the entire game
Not in the Ashlands it isnt since the Charred are all resistant to pierce damage. Slash or Blunt are effective at killing them pierce damage isnt
yeah shields are not the best IMO
THIS. plus I find they struggle with elevation differences a lot
why they abandoned knives?(
The axes are very similar to the axes so there is that!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming yeah, but my skill at knives are high, not axes(
