The sound aside (which I personally have enjoyed for years now) one of the best descriptions of the feel of typing on the above HHKB Pro 2 that I have heard is that it feels akin to "typing on wet clay tablets". It's even better if you've ever done ceramics and worked with fresh soft clay before. There's just something about that description that is so apt and how it accurately illustrates what I love about the feel of Topre switches.
god this is really one of the most accurate sound test i'v ever seen i have this keyboard and it definetly sounds exactly like this sound test ahah feels good
Your videos are simple to the point and accurate great job and great video showing the keyboard.
i like your videos a lot! very high quality and professional :) keep it up
I bought a MX Clears POK3R because of your sound vid, and I'm 80% close to buying this HHKB. Gaaah.
Amazing sound, and nice wpm, enjoy that keyboard it's beautiful
I was WAITING FOR THIS!!
reported as porn
Same I can’t believe this is allowed on RUclips
69 likes, nice
they sound ass gateron black inks would sound better
Yo, Rhinofeed! Love your work! I don't know why I keep watching videos of keyboards I can't afford, but they're so well put together! Have you seen Cooler Masters MasterKeys S PBT? It's basically a TKL with pbt keycaps & mx switches for $80. Would you consider making a video about it?
Anywhoozles, keep the good work up!
im getting that keyboard. im so happy
btw thanks for the vid it helped me make my final decision
That feel when you have the exact same keyboard that's in one of his videos FeelsGoodMan...Also this gives me the opportunity to say this, HOLY CRAP I had no Idea his sound tests were this accurate. Definitely the most accurate sound test of an HHKB I've seen, and trust me, when I was deciding between a regular and a Type-S I listened to just about all that I could find.
How's about mine? : )
kidding I have shit mic
Not bad really, mic is just too close to the keyboard, no one's ears are that close to their board while they type, so the sound isn't very accurate. But either way it's a pleasant sound.
Bernardo Oliveira don't have a tripod for the camera, that's why it's so close : (
No worries, even though it's not very accurate it still sounds pleasant.
Wow, you are in deep now. I so regret selling my HHKB.
cool music at the end.
Great sound, this feels very relaxing.
Greetings ^^.
Hello there fellow Arch enjoyer
HHKB review: when?
idk why , but is dope af.
If only this sound test existed before I bought mine. It wasn't as quiet as the other sound tests.
Are the Topre switches similar to the ones used in Keytronic Ergoforce KT2001?
Any plans to review a Model F keyboard?
Finally.
may I ask where you got that beautiful cloth?
I'm looking at a Topre R3HB21 and is says they keys are silent. Is that simply a ring I can remove to make them non-silent? The sound is amazing to me.
Love my FC660C topre goodness nothing like it
What is the purpose of the thing(that looks like bubble wrap) under the keyboard? If it is useful, where can I get one?
What camera do you record with?
Are you left or right handed? I find that more common english words require keys on the left side of the board..it always feels like the left side of the board is more active...this slows me down a bit as im right handed. Thoughts on this?
Hey, could u help me pls. My new Corsair Strafe Cherry MX Silent spacebar makes a very loud clicky noise. Please help me fix it i donno ehat to do.
any thoughts on halo switches?
When do you think you will be getting the review out for the HHKB?
Charleston, SC Meetup. Cherry MX Board 6.0. HHKB. Sorry about the wait! Finishing up summer classes, and then I am moving to SC this week.
is that new outro music?
How good does it feel to type on that keyboard? I currently use a Blackwidow Chroma, and I do like the switches, but I was thinking of saving up for an HHKB2 at some point, since it seems like a really solid keyboard that a lot of people want. And topre switches sound amazing.
It feels great! The layout is something you'll love or hate, and the all-plastic build quality feels cheap. You may even wonder why it's hyped so much, and how in the world it's worth $200. However, once you've used it for awhile you'll start to see why so many people like it.
Dave Classique there are other objectively better topre keyboards like the realforce or even the Leopold fc660c. they have a more substantial feel due to the plate. but something about the plastic case mounted switches make the hhkb feel much more engging to type on. cant really describe it, ita my favorite topre board.
Are this the silent version?
I want the hhkb type s!
HHKB or RF87U? Now all you need is the F660C and the Novatouch for the Topureh line-up to be complete!
Now that the FC660C is programmable (with the help of Hasu's controller and TMK), I highly recommend it for both form factor and functionality. Arrow cluster is super underrated. Comes in much more handy than some HHKB fans may lead to believe.
Darrin Lin HHKB JP?
what website does he use for the typing test
its called tenfastfingers
i want this keyboard for so long. i havent been able to get it yet.
I hope you’ve been able to get it since
what is this switch??
its more than just a rubbre domeh dude REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I know this is an old video but I am typing on a type heaven right know and the hhkb has more thock to it but i like how my types heaven sounds so IDK :P
REVIEW THIS PLEASE
Classic hhkb slash instead of backspace
but rhino is it worth it
what typing site does he use for his sound test?
10 fast fingers.
That does sound pretty sweet. I didn't know Topre switches were available for custom builds. Are they compatible with MX boards and plates?
Bruh where tf did you read you could do this for custom builds? You can't.
John Matthias you can get stems
Cannot wait for me to get the 55g.
this dosent come in 55g yo :) unless you wanna dome swap!
Oh yeah, I probably thought it had one because of the Realforce 55g one lol. Thx for that, but the HHKB is a beast either way!
Man I with I could type as fast as you. I'm currently sitting at around 70 words per minute.
Did you get faster yet? lol.
@@eliasmarianov tbf 70 isn't even bad
I got 142 wpm
Hey, mind doing a sound test on RomerG switches?
romerg is shit bruh
@@dillonc4508 bruh this was 4 years ago
please do sound test for every video, thats why majority comes to these vids
wtf wpm ?
Why do you have cloth under your keyboard?
dehLord this was posted 3 mo. ago, but in case u still didn’t know- it’s to isolate the sounds of the keyboard from the desk, so you’re only hearing the switches themselves and not the vibrations from the desktop.
he was playing 10fastfingers btw ppl (:
This is the only full-travel tactile switch I'll willingly use :D I've tried several tactile switches from Cherry and Cherry imitators, but they all felt and (especially) sounded cheap in comparison.
These Topre switches have a glaring weakness, though. If the springs ever get magnetized (which has happened to me twice over the years), then the keyboard will start issuing phantom keypresses. Bad Topre bad! The springs should be made of non-magnetic SS.
Have you tried Zealios or holy pandas? I personally find Zealios to be great feeling and don't feel cheap at all
hi marcus
I want to buy this Keyboard for years now but Iam still broke as fuck
Hope you made it by today friend
@@bismuth7730 I did owned two HHKBs and loved them both!
Hi
My HHKB spacebar doesn't sound like that. it sounds loud and harsh. I hate the sound of the space bar. I mostly use my 660c for this reason .
the spacebar on mine is also more noisy. i can tolerate it though.
I fixed my HHKB spacebar sound by installing a thin o-ring on the center stem of the space bar. It helps a lot, and still feels great. Just thought I'd share!
Darrin Lin thanks, ill give it a shot
"Not my choice" haha
I can't decide, HHKB or Leopold FC660C. Someone help! :3
HHKB Type-S ... Thank me later! Also please don't buy Leopold, bought one and was disapointed with the overall quality of the keys. The HHKB is flawless.
@@-evansmadzoo183 why type s tho. Its 100 dollars more
rubbre domeh 😉
Octopus TOPREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
REEEEEEEEE
although some people say topre is kind of rubber dome, i tried it at a store and its feel totally different from both mechanical switch and rubber dome and gave a high satisfaction
All depends on preference. My preference are clears and whites. People say whites are inconsistent, but I've grown to really like that.
but it is good domeh.
7 people are that jealous plant!
Mmmmhmhmmm nice and scratchy JUST like the MX Clears... Can't believe people actually spend more than $200 on keyboards featuring these switches..
Great.
Please make a video on how to silence the keys of this keyboard, there is no proper video for that.
You can buy the Type S, which is the silent version.
there's a how to install hypersphere on novatouch keyboard video some where on youtube, just search for it. It basically applies to all topre boards. Just open the case up, remove the domes and springs, remove the slider, put on hypersheres or dental bands and reinstall.
I don't recommend installing hyperspheres. They reduce key travel and it will feel like garbage. Sell your HHKB and buy a Type-S.
The rings only silence the upstroke and that's when you pick up your fingers somost people won't notice much. The rings are also only 0.2mm thick. You've got probably really sensitive fingers. Maybe some realforce purple sliders will help.
Vendi, yes that's what I'm saying. I have a silenced RF87 with purple sliders. If you examine them, they are actually recessed slightly where it comes in contact with the rubber cup to maintain the same travel distance. This is why I was recommending not to use hyperspheres on standard Topre sliders. Only silenced sliders (Type-S, or purple) will have this feature.
I have to agree with you -- they feel amazing.

You don't use your right pinky finger at all when you type?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF
A bad habit that is tough to unlearn...
I think we all have bad typing habits that need to be ironed out; I know I do too lol. What blows my mind is how you're still insanely fast even without perfect technique.
Sounds like rubber dome, but I know better than that.
If Topre makes $150 net profit per x $300 keyboard, and 1 million people purchase x Topre keyboard, that's $150 million dollars in the Topre Fujitsu bank.
Considering that there's something in the order of 1.5 billion keyboard users in the world (1,500 million) and that people like fancy and shiny stuff with cool tactile feedback, I think this calculation is theoretically possible.
Now the question is, does the average consumer think about the $150 million in the Topre Fujitsu bank? Or do they select brands based on logo, aesthetics & street cred. Well, mostly the latter, although people also select country of origin & the corporation within that country, as well.
For example: x $20,000 car is made in China. How many Chinese consumers will buy it? Actually, most Chinese consumers lean towards products of foreign origin, and have little nationalism or trust in " made in China ". Just an example.
sounds domey

sounds like romer-G switches. I hate it, personally
looked up "hhkb topre sound test" and just as I expected... the dude touch types normally. Not with gamer claw and chicken pecking right hand like those cherry mx heathens.
But on the real. Why are there so many keyboard enthusiasts on youtube who don't take the time to learn how to touch type? They spend thousands of dollars on keyboards and a lot of time making videos but don't take a tiny bit of time to fix a super inefficient and weird looking typin style. beats me
Sounds awful
Ngl this thing sounds terrible
