Steve had a very dark sense of rhythm which complimented collins very traditional van halenish chord structure. Steve was a tortured soul and it came out in the way he played guitar. Very under rated rhythm player. Steve clark. RIP
This is great! I too love seeing Steve’s rhythm intricacies over Phil’s solos. Funny, two diametrically opposed guitar players, but so in simpatico and complementary to one another Great job dude.
I am so glad I had the chance to see them on this tour. I barely have gone to any concerts in my life, but Def Leppard in '88 was one I very much wanted to go see. Luckily they toured for like 18 months so I had a couple of chances and got to go later in the tour. It was really great, but the crowd was SO LOUD they literally drowned out the music! I was actually kind of upset as it was actually somewhat difficult to hear and enjoy the songs, the crowd just roared non-stop. So glad they did the In The Round concert video so I could enjoy the music properly. The experience otherwise was awesome and I am glad I had the opportunity to see the boys in their prime, and to get to see the magic of Steve Clark in person.
Surly the "in the round" gig was one of the best concerts of all time. I never get tired of watching it. Excellent job my guy! You nail it everytime. I'm hoping they come tour the uk at some point this year, as I'd love to see them in Sheffield again. Leppard rules! 🤟😜🤟
Can I find that show? Forgive me but I work an inordinate amount of hours and never find the time to look up things. I have had a Fender Blues Jr amp with a Strat for years but know certain guitars and equipment lend themselves to particular sounds.
Brings back great memories 2nd best concert I ever saw (Page-Plant #1). The longest concert I went to as well, at the end of the concert they played some of the songs over again so they could get some more video takes. McNichols Arena, Denver Colorado Feb 1988 was magic! P.S. McNichols Arena was torn down so that the new Denver Broncos stadium could be built there while still utilizing the old stadium.
Superb job, man. Absolutely superb. The chord progressions underneath these solos highlight the golden Leppard era. Tragic that they don't return to songcrafting this way - together in the same room again.
This live version 0:20 onwards whoa! I love that Steve Clark guitar sustained in the background. Actually that sound is all over this tour where you hear him in the music. Again, I find the sound haunting in a way. Gives me goosebumps. Great job on duplicating the sound Ben!!!
First, bless you for these great Def Lepp covers. Second, I had always assumed that Steve played this song as lead. I didn't realize Phil was actually lead guitar. Your uploads are always educating me. Kudos, man!
Another great Lepp cover!!! Watching your hands I can almost see Steve Clark play, and I can DEFinitely hear his part better. [IMHO Sometimes Collen’s flourishes overwhelm Clark’s powerful melodies.] That must be so much fun to cover!!! 👏🏻!!!! And btw I LOVE your necklace. ❤️
@@bwm5150 yeah still could be right enough. Hopefully we will share the stage again in the future. In the mean time keep your videos coming. Absolutely love them. 🎶💖🎶👊
very cool! i saw the hysteria tour twice, one of the best concert experiences i ever had... the song 'women' was released as a single before the album, i bought it and listened to it so many times! i had been anxious for a new record from them since the gap between pyromania and this record was longer than usual... i thought it was a shame this song didn't really become a hit. the single's b side was tear it down, also a cool song.
When listening to Hysteria and then watching this, it’s amazing how simple and complex this masterpiece is. Hope that makes sense. Don’t mean to downplay how great this (and Ben’s interpretation) is but it’s pretty amazing when you break it down.
In the LITR concert, the outro solo was Phil, the VHS/DVD gas it, it shows Phil doing the solo, and while it happens, at one point Steve spins around, implying so, yes he did do some solos, but Phil did both solos, just a tad bit of correction, watch the HD/1080HP remaster to see it!
@@bwm5150 Sorry if this seems weird, but it said Steve Clark Guitar Cover, so I thought you meant like, only Steve's lines for the song, not by voice though, (Guitar wise) sorry if I bothered you, but anyways, I love it, I was confused though, I play this in my Gibson all the time, it's sort of old, I was told it's 1979, but it looks like an 86. IDRK though, nice work BMW, keep it up, sorry for the confusion
Awesome laddie! You really do deserve an invite off Joe onto Lepps stage to do one of these tunes with them. If you were offered either Women, Hysteria or Gods Of War....which would you pick? Lol seriously.
Ah cool. Forgive me but I get a lot of people asking for things without searching my channel first so I try to preemptively let people know when I can 😅
Great playing on this one. Women from this era w/ Steve has always stood out above others with how he plays his parts. Listened to TLFL & Women from the Deluxe Adrenalize release recently.. Dare I go down this rabbit hole, but sounds a little too cleaned up maybe or some added/dubbed playing @ times? Not sure on your thoughts, but this concert gets more interesting the longer I look into it lmao.
I love metallica and def leppard, the CLOSEST albums metallica has made to def leppard is either seek and destroy or ride the lighting, can you please do a metallica song but make it song as if def leppard wrote it?
I hope to cover some of the Black Album but I don’t think there’s scope for me to Leppardize in the way I like to do it. I’m more into adding guitar to pop tracks that have little to no guitar in them.
This is really great! Now you need to get yourself a Les Paul with a Kahler. ;-) I have guitars with Kahlers and Floyds and the Kahler really does have a different feel for doing stuff like this.
@@bwm5150 I know. The Kahler gets so much hate... but I have 3 guitars with them - two Les Pauls and an Explorer (with plans to build a Live After Death era replica Dave Murray Strat).

I completely agree.
