I like the Rory Gallagher comment. That one was left out. David Byron of Uriah heep is the one I like. For lack of a better word. How can you like on someone's death. I feel he definitely ranks as one of the best singers ever.
I feel the reason they overdosed was due to depression, stress, hectic schedules, and the pressure of fame, which led to them turning to drugs to cope.
Pete Ham -- yet another member of the 27 Club. His death by suicide, not an overdose, precludes him from being on this list. But his work with Badfinger shouldn't be forgotten.
It's crazy how many talents died at the same age for the same reasons. Drugs and alcohol are extremely powerful especially in the hands of over achieving people. They never can seem to find a balance, when the tolerance, pressures of the lifestyle, depression and self absorbed criticisms becomes too much to handle the need for a release is apparently obvious and these musicians give into the temptation. What they fail to realize is that the drugs and alcohol make the issues worst and creates a callus over any reasonable thoughts and instead inserts irrational and self loathing thoughts when these intoxicants aren't consumed. Causing in most cases irreversible damage. Unfortunately these talents never used the addiction of being successful and being a role model to their fans and using all that angst and irrational thoughts to music and relying on the strength of loyal people and themselves to overcome any odds they may face. Fortunately there are many talented artists that have and continue to impress with their musical and personal contributions. Sure some were lucky and most were smart enough not to cross that line ✌🏽♥️
Yes, but we can also add the "friends" who gravitate around the celebrities, and who are in fact a swarm of parasites who are always close to the stars when they are bad and who have the little pill that will fix everything...
I show no sympathy for fools that had everything, fame, fortune and were never left wanting, yet destroyed their lives, There are many struggling for survival from day to day in this world that never get a mention
No te preocupes no conozco a ningún marihuano que por más que fume se haya muerto o intoxicado.. no creo que seas la excepción no tienes tanta suerte 😂😂😂 sigue fumando lo único que morirán son tus neuronas Pero poco a poco
According to a living Finnish rock legend, in the midst of long tours, changing accommodations, making records, etc., Heroin became a holiday in the midst of rush and stress.
Brian Jones was out of it. Yes. But, just before a contractor died, he confessed, throwing Brian in the pool. Brian owed him monies for work he'd done on his house. Jones was totally out of it. Let that contractor burn in HELL!!
It’s because most are from working class backgrounds and end up with to much money therefore an endless supply of Drugs and no one to answer to 😳🏴🏴🏴
27 club 💔 I will never get over Prince, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, and Taylor Hawkins Death 😭😭 also Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington either. Fuck it still hits me hard today. I was only a year old when Kurt Cobain left us
I still don’t think Kurt shot himself with the amount of heroine in his system that shotgun would have been unstable and he would have never managed to get the barrel of the shotgun in his mouth. Not to mention he wouldn’t have been able to even get to the trigger his arms would be spazzing out
Good video! I minor quibble, 12:20 by adding "accidental" to Paul Grays overdose (and others) you imply all the other listed ODs may be people who wanted to take their own lives and this is not the case for many.
Every guy except 4 guys played an instrument in my neighborhood...several died from drugs OD, once became a bad alcoholic, he's doing sober clean now for several years, some are still doing drugs...I never wanted to be a rock star... I'm glad, I still play though.
While back in the day, most of them were credited for having drug overdoses. But over time, it surprisingly came to light that most of them died from alcohol, mostly by choking on their own vomit. I think the narrative the establishment wanted to convey at the time was that there is nothing wrong with drinking, it is all because of those bad drugs we can't find a way to tax that they died.
Everyone has pain in their lives but they don't OD. These people were just plain stupid to do drugs. The rock music scene seems very toxic. Those who didn't get pulled into it dodged a bullet. Never heard of most of them. It's sad that they essentially committed suicide this way.
Phil Lynott should be on this list.
Founder, songwriter and bassist for THIN LIZZY.
Wasn`t he shot by his G.F.? Or am I confusing him with Felix Pappalardi? Hmm, I got to check up on that. Cheers!
Damn straight
Layne staley this world misses you dearly my brother ❤
Who the hell does coke at 76?
Entwistle was one of the best of all time ❤ Loved his style
Alan Wilson from Canned Heat. Drug overdose, 27 years old.
I never had their money or fame but at least I'm still alive at 67.
Tom Petty was not only a singer, but the voice of Lucky on King Of The Hill. I will always remember his music, but also the KING OF THE HILL cartoon.
When Chris Cornell died, I was shocked. Still difficult to believe.
This video really hit hard. So many great musicians gone too soon. Thank you for shedding light on their struggles and keeping their legacy alive.
Ike was 76 😂
Tommy Bolin (Deep Purple)
Rest easy Layne, you are forever missed
Watching my father battle with Alzheimer’s I’m just wondering what is so great about living to the point where your body fails?
27years old!!! so many died at this age!
"Hit me just one more time I can handle it"-John Belushi.
Tom Petty's death hit me hard.
Peter Steele from Type O Negative should be in the list...
Gotta love the Amy W. mourners: placing beers and wine glasses as trophies to her drunken death. Ugh!
Janice looked like 47, not 27. 😓
...there is a LOT of age 27s' in that list...
Syd Barrett, founder of Pink Floyd, remained mentally compromised all of his life because of Lsd
I like the Rory Gallagher comment. That one was left out. David Byron of Uriah heep is the one I like. For lack of a better word. How can you like on someone's death. I feel he definitely ranks as one of the best singers ever.
don't get hooked on drugs or alcohol you'll live longer
Doing cocaine at 76 is wild Ike Turner :(
I feel the reason they overdosed was due to depression, stress, hectic schedules, and the pressure of fame, which led to them turning to drugs to cope.
BS!
They made bad choices and/or were too stupid to undo them.
@@dadeo8957 Agreed, too much to soon..........spoilt.
Nope.
Absolutely true. Overwhelmed with their lives.
Hard to feel sorry for any of the drug related deaths. So many over 35, it's difficult to imagine they didn't realize they were committing suicide.
Wow I’ve never seen so many 27s 😮
It’s called the 27 Club
Pete Ham -- yet another member of the 27 Club. His death by suicide, not an overdose, precludes him from being on this list. But his work with Badfinger shouldn't be forgotten.
27 seems to be the age to checkout. Sad.
At 27 its time to grow up. Can't put off adulthood any longer at 27.
David Byron a rockstar 24/7 but the bottle finally won rip
So many heroin overdoses. The ultimate numbing drug. When the pain is too much to bear.😢
John Bonham was a great drummer.
What's the guitar solo soundtrack? Please. Thank you. ✌
Steve Clark a legend
Very good video. Sad to see how many gifted people are taken away by drugs or alcohol. And many artists don't die from drug use, but suffer addiction.
The candles that burn twice as bright often burn out half as long.
Wow, rock fans in 70/71 must have been freaking out…..Hendrix dies in 9/1970, Janis in 10/1970, and then Morrison in 7/1971….
All age 27 too. Weird.
I just hope David Gahan never relapses and ends up on a list like this, at any age.

Most of these guys did drugs before they were famous and were broke, what do you expect when you give a junkbomb a million bucks?
Excellent video...thank you.
Everyone in the music industry really needs to take it easy when they turn 27 years old! The 27 curse has taken a whole lotta 'em!
I show no sympathy for fools that had everything, fame, fortune and were never left wanting, yet destroyed their lives, There are many struggling for survival from day to day in this world that never get a mention
What is the guitar music used here?
Nice laided back vibe.
Tim Buckley?
I've tried to OD on weed every day for the past 30 years. I'm still here.

Did you get sober?

Wowzers, makes me grateful for my boring office job.
Ike Turner was doing coke at 76, that’s hilarious

It’s always an “accidental “ overdose, like the user wasn’t trying to stick a needle in his/her arm
Outstanding info thank you
Jimmy The Rev Sullivan is missing from the video ✨
Heartbreaking!!!😢
Layne Stayley I really wish u make more music😭
I don‘t think that killing yourself while being intoxicated is dying from an Overdose…
Good Video though!!!
They had the money to do drugs it's all about self control they knew what they were doing they knew the risk
It’s because most are from working class backgrounds and end up with to much money therefore an endless supply of Drugs and no one to answer to 😳🏴🏴🏴
Alcohol and drugs aint no good and that's the truth if you cant control it it's gonna get u in the end.😮
27 club 💔 I will never get over Prince, Michael Jackson, Tom Petty, and Taylor Hawkins Death 😭😭 also Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington either. Fuck it still hits me hard today. I was only a year old when Kurt Cobain left us
Layne Staley's death affected me the most. Then Chris Cornell then Chester Bennington
R.I.P. John Bonham

Some of them are part of the 27 club.
27 is the magic number
Sometimes it's better to be a nobody that way you live a little bit longer sad 27 is the number to checkout in life

I learned a lot on this video.
I thought Tom Petty died of a heart attack from years of drug use but also a very heavy smoker. RIP Mr. Petty
What kind of wonderful music is playing?
Amy Winehouse 🖤🎸
You need to do more bios of the more famous people. Don’t skip any
@ Celebs Legacy Data; Many thanks for putting these together, the work you do is highly appreciated, the music is just as sublime and powerful.
This is really sad. All these people we lost to drugs
They need to go through and revisit some of these overdose deaths to see if there's any ties to Diddy.
Every guy except 4 guys played an instrument in my neighborhood...several died from drugs OD, once became a bad alcoholic, he's doing sober clean now for several years, some are still doing drugs...I never wanted to be a rock star... I'm glad, I still play though.
I love the background music on this video. What is it?
So many members of the “27 club”- artists who died at 27.
Hillel Slovack ❤
"Cocaine is one hell of a drug"

....and the dice keeps on rolling.. who's next?
They really love Heroin.
A brief appearance of Pat Smear in the 1980 Darby Crash pic
Qual é essa música de fundo?
darby crash died the day before John Lennon
Janis Joplin , Jimi Hendrix

Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Smoothbrain Justin in the house 😂😂
Amen! You reap what you sow as the Bible says!
Don't feel bad for any of them, Zeppelin is my favorite band but I don't even feel bad for Bonham. They did it to themselves.
Forgot Phil Lynott
You wonder if they would have died even with boring 9 to 5 gig
Nobody mentions the biggest drug of all.. the music itself.
