They did play this version at Newport Centre on their Euphoria tour. Its by far my favourite version and i went mad when the bass line started. Tiny venue though.
I agree, the ending is amazing. It’s one of those few songs that give you the sense that the band don’t want it to stop. They just keep playing that last sequence over and over and it just capsulates you to another world of mesmeration. Brilliant 👍
Def Leppard has been in my life for 40 years. I was turned on to their music by my sister who bought Pyromania. It was in 1987 that she bought me Hysteria. Since then, this band is a part of my life that is almost unexplainable. When I am down or lost in my life, I come back to them. I feel like their music is home. Thank you for these videos and your love for the band. I feel nothing but joy anytime I come across your channel or videos.
Thanks for the kind words and for sharing your relationship with the band. You, along with a couple other channels, helped me hear and discover many new things. In fact, I used your bootleg of this show to double-check on what Steve and Phil were actually playing. So thanks! 😁
This version of the song and Steve's part in particular is HUGELY underrated. I really can't emphasis enough how much different this song feels live after Steve was no longer with the band. There was a soulful simplicity in everything he did. He was the perfect counterbalance to Phil. By far...by far my favorite version of this song. Better than the album version and any other live version I have heard.
Steve Clark is my favorite Musician of all time. I miss him dearly. I think Steve would enjoy your videos if he were still alive. I miss the old way Def Leppard played Hysteria. I miss that intro. I really love that you honor Steve so much its really cool. Steve is my hero and I love him so much.
I feel blessed to have heard this. To hear my favorite parts of the song isolated like this. All those little touches Steve added to really make it magical. So few "hear" the magic that was always present and thus, his contributions went unheard to so many. Thank you for this. That intro kills me every time.
80s kid here - this was absolutely fantastic. Had the best times as a young teen and that album was in constant rotation. Really enjoyed hearing Steve's part highlighted in this fashion. Great stuff, man.
It's cool to see this video. To me, Steve Clark never got the attention or credit he deserves for his talent. Live, his guitar sound was huge. RIP Steve. We love you.
Best version ever... I was in the seventh row, the first part of the Hysteria Tour, and the 14th, the second go round at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. Can't get enough of this version.
2 years later this performance still blows my mind. Losing my job and taking a break from looking for a job. This album came out when I was in high school. Great memories. My girlfriend at the time was such an amazing and genuine person. Great memories. Thank you. I hope you are still playing.
Very kind Mafaka, thank you! I'm always learning new things with Steve's work and always want to be as accurate as possible. I agree, this intro is always my favourite.
The cool thing about Def Leppard is their unique sound that's truly their own. Hearing this brings back great memories of my teenage years. Awesome work as always! Man that tone 👍
Omg you absolutely nailed the heart felt feel of that song, that is exactly how I wish I could play that song and the memories and remembrance of that sound is 100 percent. Perfect job.
It’s funny…as a kid I used to skip over Hysteria so I could get to pour some sugar, or Animal…I just didn’t ’get it’ at the time. Over the years it has actually become my absolute favorite song ever, and this version just puts me in a mood I never want to leave. Thanks!! 😇
