I''m very happy with what I penned. What a sad flog. Your comment betrays an extremely jealous and or/weird personality. But you are in the end adding nothing, that's what matters. A crank. Single line brain farting. Again. You seem to follow me around, again extremely weird stalker.
Wow! This really surprised me. The accurateness, tempo, cleanliness of his playing and how easy he makes It seem. A real pro!
His playing on the early Dio stuff was a massive influence on me picking up guitar. Trying to learn the Rainbow in the Dark solo (among many others) kicked my ass but I learned so much from it. What a player! Him, Gary Moore and Rory were the Irish triumvirate of guitar excellence
now, after the years passed. We learned that the "rainbow in the dark" riff was really a creation of Jake E. Lee, but Dio didn't give him no credit.
@@jorgepalomares8025 Where are you getting this from? I have never heard this from any Jake E. Lee interviews.
@@jorgepalomares8025 Vivian Campbell's original band, Sweet Savage, has a song, Lady Marion, which features the main riff from Rainbow in the Dark. And Vivian is credited as a co-writer. Here is Lady Marion, from Sweet Savage, where you can hear for yourself the main riff from Rainbow in the Dark, though certainly in no way the same song: ruclips.net/video/AB3ColK5e60/видео.html
Me too! All the 80s metal gtrsts were a big part of my musical/ gtr education
I agree. I find myself heavily influenced by the "Irish Guitar Invasion." (My term; I don't know if that's really a thing.) Those guys were/are just a huge part of my "Guitar Quest."
No words....
Just too f""king cool for me to Yap...
Thankyou Vivian !
And most Excellent of you to throw some love to Steve.
GODBLESS ~
ZACK DANIELS ~
Dio is Amazing!
I've Loved listen to Vivian Campbell play for years in the different bands he's been in, thank you Vivian for making my world better with your music appreciate it!
Not many musicians as cool as Vivian! Love this dude, and everything he has ever done! ❤️
Such a great musician and always seems like such a genuine great dude
Ah, the Def Leppard guy with the shirt! ))) Brilliant!
Viv is so very humble and kind, absolutely love him! :)
that epiphone cranks with those rails. glad to see the fellas backing some entry level guitar makers. epiphone has a whole new line this year.
He used to play peavey guitars
I was in absolute ahhh, the very first time that I heard Vivian, and from that day I knew he would accomplish great things as a musician. Also trade mark guitar licks and solo's. So glad that he's from my time line.
His tone on the first three Dio albums, along with Appice's drum sound, really made those records. I love all the Dio albums, but something wasn't the same without that winning original team
Craig Goldy blows compared to Campbell!! What would Dream Evil have sounded like with Viv? More awesome, that's what!!!
@@coolcatrick3454 oh come one, cut the crap..both guitarists are great..Night People's solo cannot be played by any other guitarist on planet Earth!!!
Agreed Vivs guitar tone on the first 2 albums was awesome. There’s a video of Dio playing man on sliver mountain Viv nailed it .
TheMadMattster that's what having wives as managers does...Wendy Dio sacked Vivian...Sharon Osbourne sacked Kerslake and Daisley and fucked up two of the best bands original line ups ever.
Craig Goldy on Dream Evil>>>Vivian Campbell on Sacred heart
Plan on picking up your side-hustle album and love your comments about Steve's guitar work and appreciate the love you show him. Wish you all the best Viv!
Still one of my all time favorite guitarists - born to play
Much underrated guitarists....
I have the upmost respect and love for him. He was never given the credit he deserved. An amazing guitarist and man.
Utmost
Man, those harmonics he's hitting in Gods of War sound incredible!
Vivian is an icon and his work with Dio will be eternal.
Great stuff! :)
bwm5150 love your channel
Didnt know Viv could finger pick
go record more videos dammet
bwm5150 love your channel
Lovee your Channel 😍
Saw Viv w/ Last In Line few months back...just awesome!! A world class guitar player & true class man!
Didn't know after all these years Vivian still has his Irish accent ..guys,a legend..his solos are Jimmy page epic..
Such an awesome and humble guitar player/person
That is really cool that Epiphone has recognized Vivian Campbell with his own guitar.
Enjoy my youtube content jeguitar..
@Fred Virtuoso Epiphone and Gibson are two completely different sounds
@Fred Virtuoso There was a Gibson Custom Shop Vivian Campbell model first...in case you missed it.
Actually, that's Gibson saying we'll let you have a Signature Les Paul (which already IS a signature guitar) but we don't think you're big enough to sell a $4,000+ Gibson so we'll give you an $800 Epiphone.
Vivian deserves a Gibson (which is what he always used, NEVER Epiphone) just from his work with Dio alone.
They gave Buckethead a Gibson...bad choices like that is why they went bankrupt.
@@RobSchauland Yeah, but not a production model for Viv, sad.
This guy is the greatest guitarist with a great attitude, it's honest and humble yet cracking the whip combination that endears him to millions of rock fans, myself included. Good man, down to earth ripper.
What a legend, love the positive energy
Vivian is such a badass, his solo's with Dio are legendary, I can remember just listening over and over to his guitar riffs. Just like Steve, Dio was never the same without Vivian and Def Lepard was never the same without Steve.
I was stationed at Schofield Barracks on Oahu in 1984 . I was twenty and newlywed. Took my wife to her first concert. Dio and Dokken. Got to see two of my favorite vocalists, especially Ronnie, and two of my favorite guitarists. Not only that Jimmy Bain, Jeff Pilson, Mick Brown and Vinnie Appice. Somebody invent a time machine now.
Nice! I saw Dio at the Arlington Theater in Santa Barbara in 1984 and it was awesome.
I saw the Dio Dokken tour also ,it was awsome. Vivian definitely held his own against George Lynch
Damn! Dio & Dokken? 2 of my favs right there! Rich Binder is right- we need a time machine ASAP- Elon ! Screw Mars- we want 1984!!
Whatever Vivian does sounds great. Dio was never the same after he left. He’s got chops and a great percussive player. Just love him and his playing.
The guitar solo for Last in Line is one of the BEST ever.
Love Vivian’s videos. He’s so into it. Very expressive and sincere. And of course, hugely talented 👏👏🤘🤘
Vivian Campbell... a pure beast axe master. He and Vinnie Appice were a one of a kind combo in the Dio days
💪💪💪👊👊👊👍👍👍⚡🌈🌈🌈
They're back!! Go see Last in Line live. They're great!!
John C saw them and met them both. Awesome guys.
@@seanhunty9304 # same here.
Actually talking to and listening to Vinny during his drum clinic he had (1 week after Ronnie's passing) some real interesting but just sad insights on Ronnie and being in the band especially towards the end ...
Vinnie though brings just a heavy set of luggage that guy's massive I love him
He can drop the SAMSONITE 💪💪💖
Plllllease wasn't shit w/I duo yet the coward told shit bout the man who put him on map FUCK em
I've always loved Vivian and his playing when he got in def I was like well deserved. They needed a great guitar player and he needed a great band.
Holy Diver and The Last In Line has some of the best guitar work you'll ever hear.
Nothing cooler than listening the the guitarists you love sitting down and showing how their great riffs/solo’s are played.
Love this guy!
Easily in my top 5 favorite guitarists & ranked high in that 5.
Vivian inspires me to want to play the guitar 🎸 unfortunately I’m 54, a woman and my Son says I’m too old to learn now. However, Vivian sends a shiver down my spine. ❤
me too
A TRUE underated guitar player
Any person who knows rock knows how good he his
@@Me37368 right
I wouldn't say he's underrated at all. Of course he doesn't have a famous name like Slash or Randy Rhodes but his guitar work is well known.
You are da man Viv hands down man you have true talent keep bringing us those great songs and riffs you so easily do thanks for all your hard work over the years love em all I want to see you guys your again in the USA
Love the way he starts off the interview, since in my case "Rainbow in the Dark" was the song that made me want to pick up the guitar the first time I heard (saw) the solo on Mtv. \m/
Vivian is the reason I picked up the guitar...saw him with Dio at The Spectrum in Philly....1984
My favorite and very underrated guitarist.
I agree, man. Very underrated.
My memory isn't as good as it used to be, but I recall seeing Vivian do a small guitar clinic at a music store in Green Bay WI. in the fall of 1987. I remember him being of small stature with a huge head of hair. Watching him play on a small personal venue was amazing. What a talent.
“Heaven and Hell” live in Spectrum man. His solo is one of the most satisfying thing I have ever seen
steve is my fave guitarist and viv is another one of my faves ever , his respect for steve is amazing
The Last in line solo, in my opinion is the most well crafted, moving solo in any song I've ever heard
Agreed...
Love how he starts getting excited while describing the Dio riffs.
I love that he holds Steve Clark in high regards!
Vivian's dio live-solo sections are epic.
