I love my ID4. It is so comfortable and is such a pleasure to drive. It is true that Teslas have a little more range and a little more power, but these things have a negligible effect on my driving experience. What DOES have an effect on my driving experience is how well designed the car is. The ID4 has a sense of refinement and sophistication that Tesla can't matach.
Thanks for the review Brian. Unfortunately these vehicles are sitting on dealer lots, the uptake on them is glacial and early adopters were burned by numerous software issues that tanked this models ownership experience.
The charging infrastructure isn’t ready, so I’m not in the market for an EV. I have a level 2 charger for test cars and I’m averaging less than one EV tester a month right now.
I did consider the ID.4, but after comparing it to the Tesla Model Y, I went with the Tesla. More power, reliable public charging, heat pump, better infotainment, no dealer to have to hassle with.
Thanks for the review. I only wish in America you can get more than black, white or silver. Are we all not tired of those colors? It lloks great in red! Also no heat pump for in the states. Yes, not everywhere is it cold but it would be nice to have that option. Also wish you talked more about charging times and what charger you can use and not use. All in all a good review. thanks
@@zoner__ Not in a million years, I will never get an EV, I am moving from this corrupt Ontario to Alberta soon. EVs are for rich people that wants to stay in debt. As for me, I work minimum wage job and it is cheaper to own and operate a small naturally aspirated engine. I don’t like debt. I do appreciate the old late 80s and 90s VW Jetta diesel engines though…dirt cheap to run.
anytime I see a VW ID vehicle on the road I always double take...they're super cool looking and I'd love to have one!

I agree, really enjoyed driving it. Well resolved with a capable chassis. Looking forward to the ID Buzz.

Didn’t know that. Shame. Quite enjoyed my time with this.
Does it have turn signal stalks? Then it is better than the mullosk mobile.
Of course. It’s a real car.
the brochure says 0-60 in 4.9 sec for the 2024 AWD model. 6.1 second is for the older model (2023 and below). also has 402 lb-ft of torque in AWD
Is your charger for your daily, or for your demos?

@@BrianMakse I also have a 240V evse for my Honda clarity plug in hybrid
That’s one car I haven’t tried. How is it?

Blended brakes is way better than that Tesla 1 pedal nonsense. But u right, the blended brakes do need a little tuning on this one.

I might be one of those people but, I have yet to see one on the road. Cheers
Just go drive one. That solves that problem!
I have seen literally dozens in the Boston area.
Nice review, at least VW will no longer will have engine issues 😂 Aa for me, I will never buy an EV.
There are some good EVs out there now…
Drive an i4. You will be a convert
