@@RyuNoZero That's probably my favourite part! Some of the best Christmas traditions bring equal parts joy and annoyance to the people practicing them, I love it.
Not even joking, Christmas LGR is one of the things I most look forward to every year around the holidays. Thank you so much Clint, and I hope you have a very happy holiday season! CHRISTMAAAAAAAS
I sometimes do the Xmas Clone's "CHRISTMAAAAS!" around the office this time of year, just to see how many coworkers recognize it. Nearly half of them, so I'd say you're doing pretty well Clint!
Yo! DEMOSCENE!! You should do a whole episode just on Demoscene and some of the gatherings. Show off a couple of classics. Music videos made entirely in code.
I can explain: I was 16 at the time, and the word "Interpose" had just entered my lingual universe. It was such a cool and catchy word, so I put it as the working title on the intro script / backstory. Naturally, the plotline would involve some... interposing, so what could be more enticing than doing that to save the world? Since none of us where native english speakers, the catchy word just stuck and made it to gold.
Dude last Xmas I was living in a 10ft room in a rooming house and working at Target. I remember hating that room so much I would show up early to Target and watch LGR videos for like an hour before every shift. Thank you for helping me out in a dark time. Your content is phenomenal. Keep up the good work, Clint! Happy Holidays!
As someone who seriously used to live in a 10ft room while working at Target, I'm glad the videos provided some enjoyable times in the midst of planograms and cramped quarters!
Holy crap, I have never even heard of thid Interpose game?! It looks awesome and I actually really like that "cat" gimmick. Always enjoyed seeing the Kilrathi in Wing Commander and wondered why something like that hasn't been done anymore.
Honestly, nothing screams more Christmas than your clone waking up on December first right next to you in your bed staring back at you yelling, “CHRIFMAAAF” as soon as you open your eyes. Glad to see that LGR has a similar issue, makes me into “the Christmas spirit”
Yes, it's a reverse WC :) But since the story was so basic, it needed a twist. In this case, a race swap. Allowed for the Stallone/Madonna graphical joke as well. But practically, it was rooted in some other creative dabblings at the timw where the Overlynx was the main idea.
If you like Interpose, chances are you'll like Stargunner as well. Quite similar in style, but the shopping takes part in between levels, similar to Raptor: Call of the shadows. Both are classic DOS shmups. :)
HEY.. i did a interview with the developers of "interpose" when they where making the game. i worked for a computer magazine named TEKNO at the time ;)
My favourite magazine in my youth. I still have some of those magazines, for keep-sake. Have many of the demo cd´s that were included with the magazine. Not to mention the cd´s with tracker based music on them. If I do remember correctly, I believe Tekno included a cd with the full version of this game back in the day. Regardless, it is sad that the magazine stopped coming to the stores. Never found another computer / gaming magazine that I liked as much, or that compared to Tekno.
Love your attention to detail. Not many RUclipsrs would go the extra mile to actually say Atnas Sualc genuinely backwards. Well done, sir. :) "He's my cousin, but doesn't he look almost exactly like Santa Claus?"
Man I love this time of year, puts a big smile on my face when "Christmaaaas" stunt double comes into play. On point thanks so much for the free smiles
I had no idea that there was an x-mas shareware episode to this game. Back in the day at some point I had the great fortune of buying a computer magazine which had Interpose included on a CD-ROM on the cover. To this day it's probably one of the most enjoyable shmups I've played. Not to mention beautiful. And that lovely synthpop title tune is still in my head. Oh, and good to see that the Christmas clone is back. The last season of the Christmas Clone Saga sort of ended on a bit of a cliff-hanger. :-)
It came out with the Norwegian magazine Tekno, but if you are Swedish maybe it came out with PC Gamer? I do not think Tekno was in Sweden? I remember I read some Swedish PC Magazines sometimes, but not the names of them.
Christmas with LGR has become a favorite point of the year for me, and I find myself looking forward to it with the same glee a child might have for Santa.
Ive been watching this guys content for years I love this kind of stuff this channel even inspired me to go out a search for parts to make my dos /windows 98 machine comprised of 256 mb sd ram a amd k6-2 sound blaster and 30gbs of hard-disk storage.
I actually remember this game, I played it on a old demo compilation CD you could buy back before the internet was a big thing. The same CD had Shadow Warrior on it among other games, some of which sadly never got finished like this JRPG game called Incunabula
I love everything about your Christmas videos from the very beginning. Pure undiluted love. I found your channel by chance YEARS ago looking for reviews of old 8-Bit micro Christmas games and stuck around ever since.
Christmas is really hard for me. The LGR Christmas videos always put a smile on my face. You kill me in that hat. I watch your Christmas videos when I need to give myself permission to enjoy the holiday. Thank you.
When I hear your intro for those christmas episodes I feel some unexplainable joy :) As if I was 10 again and waiting for christmass eve, santa, and presents...
I look forward to these Christmas videos every year. I still go back and watch the old ones too. old video games kick in the nostalgia and often Christmas is so highly cherished because of the nostalgia of childhood so for me, this stuff goes hand in hand
I remember this game came out. It also came out as a bonus with a Norwegian PC Magazine called "Tekno" at one point, that`s where I got it from. The "Demo Scene" was quite big in Norway back in the day, I think it still is relative active too.
Man, I don't know what exactly it is but Clint you have a unique talent in terms of how you shoot, edit, and generally produce these videos. Draws me in and keeps me interested almost regardless of topic. Good stuff, keep it up.
Your dedication to this bit really and truly adds to my Christmas joy every single year. I look forward to it, and I often go back and watch the episodes featuring Christmas Clint because he makes me feel jolly. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
Clint, the production value on this thing is off the banana and I'm sore RUclips got me the notification for this thing like two days after the fact! Absolutely brilliant work with all the references, prop work, staging, camera angles... I'm not a Christmassy person at all, and my holiday spirit's mostly found in the bottle and playing Jazz Jackrabbit Holiday Hare in dirty pajamas, but this was so whimsical and fun and well made it's kidnapped me right into Seasonal Cheer Town. Damn you, Clint Balls-of-Steel!
Great Video! I _LOVE_ how you actually went to the effort of playing back 'Santa Claus' in reverse because that's what the games main enemy is called! Keep up the good stuff!
I'm just gonna say it: I'm nearing the end of the semester. I'm exhausted. My throat hurts from my oral presentation for my Children's Lit class. So, I needed this. Thank you. Happy Holidays, everyone! :)
Christmas Clone Clint!! I love him so much , lol!! These Chrimbo vids make my year, they truly do; a time honored tradition! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and here's to more LGR in 2020!!
Always a great time of year when Christmas Clint returns. Techno Freak was a great little demo back in the demoscene days. Glad to see those guys went on to make some great games.
These truly are a stroke of brilliance. He not only gets to act like the Christmas loving moronic inner child in all of us but also simultaneously gets to express the worn out christmas hating adult grinch we all also share. What a great outlet, vicariously enjoyable to watch and well produced to boot! Thank you for this! Merry xmas ya big dumb clone!
I don’t know how you do it, but somehow within 5 seconds of watching your videos, I feel like I’m back in the 90s. Especially the Christmas episodes, I look forward to them more than actual Christmas lol
This game really reminds me of another horizontal Shmup title called *"Platypus".* Had a lotta nostalgia for that game. It's got this really wonderful clay-doh art style to it and it was so much fun to play. Heck, I bet it still as much fun as it was even today.
Wow, wow, wow I'd forgotten the name of this game for years and wanted the chance to play it again!!! The intro rocked 😁 Thank you so much LGR you've made my Christmas!
Your Christmas intro is always a little silly, but I love your channel. I've been watching regularly for a few years now. And that's quite a bit for me.
This really want me to see LGR cover Apogee's Raptor properly - it got a brief mention in the GOG collection, but from its beautiful design, fun gameplay and even more fun shop mechanic I think you'd really like it. Plus perhaps you could figure out why occasionally monkeys would throw poop at me in that game.
Early-mid 90s, in middle school... I couldn't wait for the holiday season to come so I can play my favorite PC games all day. Nothing will top that nostalgic feeling...

"Interpose" is such a weird name for a game. It sounds more like what you'd name the company that made it.
I can explain: I was 16 at the time, and the word "Interpose" had just entered my lingual universe. Sounds like a cross between interplay and microprose.

I'm really not sure about that one cat scientist having a beard.

"Cat people fighting against humans"
So basically backwards Wing Commander?
well yes but yes
Had the same Idea haha
Maybe it is the true Story of Wing Commander and thinking, that we are defending us from Cat People, is only Human Propaganda.
Wing Commander crossed with Tyrian and Zero Wing.
Rednammoc Gniw?

It's probably some sort of time paradox.
Something I noted was the book the clone seemed to have dug up, Puppet Masters, is actually what inspired Invasion of the Bodysnatchers.

'Mr. Weapon' ? Alright Interpose you can't sneak that Spaceballs reference past me lol

Not enough fox morphs for that :p
Hah, you should see the work Eric Schwartz did on the Amiga back in the early 90s.
I suppose...
