I couldn’t feel much emotion and I HAD thoughts of revenge and other things. But God saved me, He gave me the people in my life and He showed Himself to me. Even in my darkest days He was there with me, He never left me. One day while I was in bed I started to pray with my hand to the sky and I felt something holding my hand. At that very moment I knew it was Him. I repent of all of the sins I have committed. I am ready to begin a new life with Him. There is still time go repent love one another and believe in Christ for He will forgive you❤️ He helped me in hard times and he will help you too:). Just pray! I will pray for you! Pls pin so more people can see!

However, as a film student who has now had to study this film, I can say that it is a true masterpiece. My opinion hasn’t changed; I still don’t particularly like the film, but technically, it is spectacular. There is so much thought put into every single thing you see on and off screen. Every little detail has been thought through and I love that. My favourite aspect of this film is it’s editing and Tom Cross truly did a fantastic job with this film.

Hopped a bus, here I came
Could be brave or just insane
We'll have to see
'Cause maybe in that sleepy town
He'll sit one day, the lights are down
He'll see my face and think of how he
Used to know me
Climb these hills
I'm reaching for the heights
And chasing all the lights that shine
And when they let you down
You'll get up off the ground
'Cause morning rolls around
And it's another day of sun
I hear 'em ev'ry day
The rhythms in the canyons
That'll never fade away
The ballads in the barrooms
Left by those who came before
They say "you gotta want it more"
So I bang on ev'ry door
And even when the answer's "no"
Or when my money's running low
The dusty mic and neon glow
Are all I need
And someday as I sing my song
A small-town kid'll come along
That'll be the thing to push him on and go go
Climb these hills
I'm reaching for the heights
And chasing all the lights that shine
And when they let you down
You'll get up off the ground
'Cause morning rolls around
And it's another day of sun
And when they let you down

I was born and raised in Long Beach. I hope to not give up SoCal. Sometimes I wish I was out there in LA
LMAOO why ain’t they get the homeless to sing and dance too
THIS right here was the Best Picture of 2016, folks. The opening scene alone is pure genius. La La Land was robbed.
You meant to say "Moonlight" hahaha. (I agree with you tho for real)
This is how you present your work. With class, energy, ambition, and most importantly, being proud. The way the title drops at the end shows how much the director said:"Yep, this is my movie"
The girls voice in the first verse is heavenly❤
I don't like musical numbers in films...
*This is now my favourite film.*
Did anyone ask?
SAME
@@billyshearss7754 You mom did, gottem.
Yeah man I never liked musical films but this piece of art is just 💕💕
Same!
this was such a colorful opening
Visiting this again in 2023. I remembered the first time watching this in the cinema. Absolutely hated musical movies but decided to watch because of ryan and emma. This scene just sets the tone for the entire movie and i was suddenly just awestrucked after this scene. Absolutely fantastic.
if i was on the highway and i found out one of the roads was closed for a movie shoot i would lose my mind
IT MAKES ME HAPPY
1:02 top of the red car damaged - after multiple takes
Nice catch
i noticed it too, after few times rewatch the film
It’s either that or they needed an old used car for the scene so they didn’t completely kill the budget. Probably your theory tho
This always makes me tear out of excitement . Hopping one day it will be another day of sun for my career. ❤
I would never forgot how I felt watching this scene in the cinema, one of he most beautiful experiences I have ever had in my life, the best opening in history of cinema.
Gives me chills it's so good!
When I first watched this I knew La La Land would be my favorite movie of all time. And I was right.
I actually expected more but still enjoyed it
I am still amazed at how good the choreography and cinematography has been done here, a true masterpiece.
朝に聞いたらすっごい楽しい気分で起きれる!
watching this is what it feels like to be in love with living
Anyone watching in 2024? It’s been 8 years since 2016 💀
Me
I remember people actually get on their feet and clap after this scene when I saw it for the first time in the theater. A colossal opening!
🎉 Everytime l get stuck in traffic , l think of this song and video 😂 Favourite song. It makes me feel like another day of fun..... Loving life in coastal Mississippi 👋
I can't wait for Broadway doing an adaptation of this on stage.
i used to listen to this song everyday in my way to collage i love it always makes me feel hopeful
Currently doing the same
Also currently doing the same I love it
I always lose it when they open the back of the truck. I'd love to be a part of that crowd!
Absolutely
If you look into the lyrics, you see that it foreshadows the whole movie.
I might not gonna watch this movie, but I gotta say:
It is well directed
why won't you watch it?
You're missing out.
Its an awesome movie, my dude
I would love it if they did more films like this. The world needs it. I really thought after lala land we’d see more musicals like this.
The last great musical I watched was The Greatest Showman
Let’s face it , when that truck’s door opened we all lost it , beautifully
Yes! That was the moment the film had me completely won over.
Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-da-ba, da-ba-da-ba
Ba-ba-ba-ba
I think about that day
I left him at a Greyhound station
West of Santa Fé
We were seventeen, but he was sweet and it was true
Still I did what I had to do
'Cause I just knew
Summer Sunday nights
We'd sink into our seats
Right as they dimmed out all the lights
A Technicolor world made out of music and machine
It called me to be on that screen
And live inside each scene
Without a nickel to my name
Hopped a bus, here I came
Could be brave or just insane
We'll have to see
'Cause maybe in that sleepy town
He'll sit one day, the lights are down
He'll see my face and think of how
He used to know me
Climb these hills
I'm reaching for the heights
And chasing all the lights that shine (lights that shine)
And when they let you down (it's another day of)
You'll get up off the ground (it's another day of)
'Cause morning rolls around
And it's another day of sun
I hear 'em every day
The rhythms in the canyons
That'll never fade away
The ballads in the barrooms
Left by those who came before
They say "you gotta want it more"
So I bang on every door
And even when the answer's "no"
Or when my money's running low
The dusty mic and neon glow
Are all I need
And someday as I sing my song
A small-town kid'll come along
That'll be the thing to push him on and go, go
Climb these hills, I'm reaching for the heights
And chasing all the lights that shine (lights that shine)
And when they let you down (it's another day of)
You'll get up off the ground (it's another day of)
'Cause morning rolls around
And it's another day of sun
And when they let you down
The morning rolls around
It's another day of sun (oh)
It's another day of sun (oh)
It's another day of sun (sun, sun, sun, sun)
It's just another day of sun (oh)
Just another day of sun (oh)
It's another day of sun (sun)
Another day has just begun (oh)
It's another day of sun
It's another day of sun
The entire movie concept right here.
Dreams > everything else.
I just think of each of these talented people auditioning for this and getting a role that perfectly reflects their real life hustle. I’m a bit teary eyed
We did our first dance show with this sound 💃🏻💃🏻 and it was amazing (13.05.22)
Plano-secuencia que ya forma parte de la historia del cine...Damian utiliza la cámara como si fuera un escalpelo....memorable opening para una película maravillosa...Gracias señor Chazel...muchas gracias.
Love the beginning
Best opening of any movie! ❤
There's a reason this won the Best Cinematography Oscar - this is some of the best camerawork ever done
I know what you mean. Why can’t more recent mainstream movies take notes in this aspect. They are obsessed with darkly lit.
@@manuelorozco7760 yeah totally, most films look saturated nowadays - like the life has been sucked out of them
@@planeguy95 Exactly. And it kept me away from most Disney live action remakes. As well as another movie musical from a while back. Give you a hint, it’s from two of the guys who did this soundtrack.
@@planeguy95 I'll tell you anyway, it was Dear Evan Hansen. Good stage musical but not something i would pay a ton of money to see again. Pasek and Paul are mixed bag songwriters. But at least i got off on the right foot with them with La La Land and the Greatest Showman. I rejected the DEH movie out of fear of not looking at the story from the same Pre Pandemic lens.
This movie was love at first sight for me.
The riot of colour !! Love It... every part of the film💃
i don’t like musicals, by and large.
this opening sequence had me captivated in my seat in the theater, my jaw was on the floor. all in one continuous take too, i think this is the best movie opening i’ve ever seen. i absolutely adored this movie ❤
It always make me feel happy. .😊😊😊
It's one of the best opening.
They should add this to the opening ceremony to LA 2028 Olympics as a sketch!!
Yes🎉
The choreography and cinematography of this scene are great!
this is my favorite scene EVER its so beautiful my goddddd
3:14 Old people doing aerobics in the background while the rest are doing the routine, and a funny lady in green is doin' somthing else 😂😂
I think the lady in green is supposed to represent people who don't know how to dance, but love to vibe
If you are struggling read this~ I know I’m young but I would just like to say that, In 7th grade I was in a very dark place.
Idk why this makes me burst in tears
I personally have never been a fan of this film. I understand why people love it, I just never really got the same feeling whilst watching it.
What do film students do?
Lou Pereira pretty much what it says on the tin😂 you just watch films and analyse them in as much detail as possible
@@lolokay2526 Learn how films are made.
I can’t wait to see this on Broadway
That title screen summed up the core theme of La La Land so well
Little did we know we were watching a masterpiece 😍
Brilliant opening number, very reminiscent of a lot of Jacques Demy’s work (Chazelle’s favourite director)
A movie filled by Golden shots💖
I love La La Land. It deserved to get the Oscar for best picture but didn't for political reasons. This brings back the heyday of the 60s. We used to have entertainment that was worth watching. Bring back the music, singing and dancing, laughter, and the dreams. Really an excellent musical and great picture. Play the music often on the computer.
Thank you for bringing classical musicals back La La Land Creators!
I hear 'em every day
The rhythms in the canyons
That'll never fade away
The ballads in the barrooms
Left by those who came before
They say "you gotta want it more"
So I bang on every door
this started playing right when i saw this
When the flute started playing...✨top notch✨ introduction scene!
Already a classic scene.
Каждый раз, когда я стою в пробке, я надеюсь что впереди люди танцуют на крышах автомобилей и я стою не зря
Still one of the best openings in a movie!
Everyone:
One guy vaulting over wall: hey guys watch this!
just watched La La Land. wow. pure cinema
The perfect irrelevant act opener that welcomes you into the setting of the story. Those Oscar wins La La Land took home motivated me to sit down and watch it. And this song speaks to my inner SoCal native with a passion for mainstream filmmaking.
When the traffic was so jammed during the Eclipse day, this movie came to my mind
