Laura, please don’t change the way you dress because it “triggers” people. This is your channel, your garden, and your life. Be happy!!! I sweat just as much in a ball cap with shorts and a T-shirt. Jacksonville, NC
I think people are concerned that she’s miserable because she doesn’t put her hair up and wears long sleeve shirts and jeans. If I could I would garden in my underwear because I sweat so much 😂
I will never understand why others are bothered by your hair or clothing choices. If you are happy/comfortable then that is all that matters. People have got to stop pushing their feelings onto you.
Please don’t stress about mail time videos, we would much rather watch project videos. We know you appreciate things sent to you and that should be enough for those gifting.
I agree completely! I think if people donated in their areas in honour of Laura and Aaron, that would be a wonderful thing...helping out their own communities like Laura and Aaron do. While I know they appreciate people's intentions, I imagine it's a lot for them to manage.
I also agree. It’s nice of people, but it was getting weird and excessive. If mail time returns, I will choose not to watch. I was beginning to feel very uncomfortable because it was too much. I like the idea of making donations to charities instead.
Could you just do a video of everything already opened and use that as a way to thank everyone? Run through each item and who its from? It would cut a lot less time or even run it as a credit at the end of the weekly q and a with a listing of thanks if you felt you needed to post something. To me cut the mail time and spend that time with your family!! Ppl we're starting to use you for PR and that's not worth your time unless its a product you truly believe in. It's one thing to help promote a friend but to spend as much time on stuff like that as you do and take away from your real life is wrong. It nice for ppl to send thoughtful gifts if they choose but also could be teaching the wrong msg to young ones that people will just send you stuff for putting yourself out there, not that that's what you are teaching them, that's not what I mean. It just got out of hand a bit
Calling The Hartley a glass greenhouse, is like calling Benjamin, Ben or Samantha Grace, Sam. It's just wrong! Please don't bow to the naysayers and negative people. Call a spade a spade and The Hartley a Hartley. 💜💜💜
Or calling the BMW a car because you don’t want to offend someone! Please keep calling it The Hartley ❤️❤️❤️❤️ proudly because you worked dang hard for it.
Lol, I think it's more like calling Benjamin - boy, lol. Call it the Hartley. And I am not even a fan of the Hartley but saying glass greenhouse is just silly.
I hear your concern about "RUclips burnout". That fear of making every holiday contrived. You should take a peek at a channel called "Good Mythical Morning". They have done an amazing job at lasting on RUclips for probably over 10 years because they treat it like a normal job. They post Monday through Friday and all their fans are 100% okay with them having the weekends off. They also take a week off every spring break, summer, fall break, and Christmas/New Years. And everyone still supports them. I think alot of youtubers get burnt out because they feel like they have to perform and frantically shove out videos or else people will stop watching. Don't have that fear. We are your fans. We support you having breaks!
I so agree, take time , we will still be here when you get back. While we are on the subject of doing what you want, wear what you want , call the Hartley what you want, wear your hair the way you want, those who love the channel will support you for being YOU.
Laura, I TOTALLY support you taking breaks! I'm sure all of us would rather you had a four day week (yes, I meant four) than you quit altogether. I know I will watch every time I get a notification!!!
I agree completely!! There should be days where you just enjoy your garden and your family without cameras. It is your job and I'd be sad to see you to get to the point that you tire of your garden because it's a chore to keep up the videos. You're not there yet, obviously, but Aaron has a good point. Make it manageable for the long-term. We love you guys!!
🌼Laura, take it from an old lady - you are gorgeous, call whatever you want whatever you want, dress to suit you and your loving husband, be who you are - and never let anyone or anything steal your joy 🌼. God bless you! Hugs to you all from me in Michigan 🌸🌻💜
can we just talk about how she has her new ice mounted up in a cup, which is sitting on a plant saucer!?!?! 😂🤣 This is why laura is my people 👌🏽😂 that’s something I would do.
Was that Laura in a baseball cap and PONYTAIL at 36:50? Alert the media! I've been waiting for the announcement that there were only going to be five videos per week, plus the recap, and I want you to know that I support this change in schedule. With two small children you need a "weekend" in your week. We'll still be getting six videos per week and then there is your entire history we can revisit if we really need a GA fix, so to speak. Enjoy your time off. Spend time with your children, read a book, make plans, take a nap, wander around the beautiful gardens you have created without having to work in them. I hope this change and the new voice over-style videos lighten your load and help you keep your channel fresh for many years to come. ~ Lisa
idea= do a Throwback Thursdays when you don't have new content to post. Use your top 5 or 10 things to plant or whatever other videos you want feature.. This would allow new subscribers to watch for the first and give long time viewers a refresher.
Oh, I love this idea , I’ve watched from the very beginning but watching older videos is fun & I always pick something up that I might have missed or forgotten!
I like the "Throwback Thursday" idea also. You have so much content that is so rich with information. To review some of your technique videos or just to get your vast knowledge about certain plants would be wonderful. I'm new to growing hydrangea and I often search for info you have shared over the years on that topic.
Laura and Aaron I think you push yourselves to give us content, most of us would settle for shorter videos about only one subject and you could divide those multi subject ones into 2 or 3 day episodes. We do not want you guys over worked and then burn out. You guys are the best plant channel out there….
Can we please stick to calling it the Hartley? Every time I hear Laura say the glass greenhouse, I'm like what? Lol. Oh and dear kind editor person, you are doing a fantastic job. 💖
I just thought I would say that having Monday thru Friday videos would be just as wonderful if it gives you guys that break, I would hate see see something you enjoy so much ever start to feel like a job.. Y'all bring so much joy and knowledge to some many and honestly couldn't imagine not gardening right along side "Garden Answer" 🌿🌻🌿
Hartley Hartley Hartley!!! We’re all for calling it the Hartley. You’ve been waiting for this moment for years- now that it’s here you better call it but it’s true name . That’s what you call it in your heart anyway 😅
Keep calling it the Hartley. If I owned a Hartley I have our Christmas photos taken in front of it. I would entertain in it. I would have photos plastered all over FaceBook. Enjoy your Hartley.
Laura, you bring us all so much joy because you are authentic in all you do! If you start changing yourself to please anyone else in RUclips land or in your personal life you open yourself up to unhappiness and all that it brings. Sad and hurt people like to criticize and judge others to make themselves feel better instead of fixing their own problems. There is NOTHING pretentious about you!!! You are a special and unique person that has such a loving and generous soul. That’s why you have such a large following. Don’t you go putting your light under a bushel!!!!!! Let it continue to shine for all you interact with in all facets of your life! It’s a great example to others to do the same. So, wear your hair how YOU like, wear the clothes YOU like and call that beautiful greenhouse The Hartley! Own it girl!!! 🌸💖🌸
I'm miffed that someone mentioned you calling the Hartley, The Hartley. Please don't feel like you have to change that. I, and many many others, like you calling it The Hartley. Do you, Laura!! Do you!!! 🤗🙌🏻
Really appreciate you addressing Mail Time. You handled it beautifully And NO, we do not see either of you as begging for gifts. Because you do not do so :) We do so because we love you 😊
I agree say "ditto" to Laura Mason's comments below. It is a Hartley!!!!!! One of a kind, you worked hard for that and kudos to you. When I heard you say, "glass greenhouse" I chuckled to myself and said, "Hartley" .
@@jksampley5872 Yes I did. Thanks for the reply, she deserves "The Hartley", always wanted one and worked for it. Love her channel and the info she supplies us all.
I absolutely love these recap videos and the discussions that come up. I get so engaged. I find myself nodding, smiling and shaking my head as if I'm participating in a live conversation. LOL
I also vote that you should keep calling it The Hartley, because it’s a greenhouse that was designed with craftsmanship and care. With most things being mass produced, it’s lovely to see a product that is both luxurious and functional. It’s really like a piece of art for your garden.
I’m so grateful you share the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your garden because it drives home the point that gardens are always evolving. It’s a privilege to follow along as you troubleshoot issues and experiment with different ideas. I have learned so much from your videos! I also wholeheartedly support the video schedule that works for you. If that means fewer videos during certain times of the year due to extreme temps or because you just need a break, then so be it.
If my gardens were perfect all the time, I would be bored. Everything I do in my gardens, and everything that happens in my gardens (mostly!) is part of the joy of gardening.
Regarding outhouses: my grandparents had no indoor plumbing on their farm and used an outhouse until they left the farm. They didn’t move from there until 1968!!!! Also, their only water source their entire lives was a spring - my grandfather was born on that farm, in 1886.
My mother married my father in 1953. Their first home was a house that had no running water and an outhouse. My grandparents had a farm with a hand pump at the kitchen sink and everyone took a weekly bath in the same tub of hand drawn water. They got their first bathroom in the 60s. So, yes, Laura, your home could have had an outhouse not that long ago.
@@michellezimmerman7827 My grandparents also had a pump at the sink, added sometime after my mother left home to go to nurses training in 1945. Prior to that, they carried water from the spring. It was heated on the stove for baths which were taken in a galvanized tub placed in the middle of the kitchen floor as needed. We’ve certainly come a long way, haven’t we!
I grew up in Ohio, My grandma lived the old farm life. She had an outhouse and the old water wells where you had to pump for water that came out so cold you didn't need ice cubes!! That's the place I love to stay the most as a kid. Those are the best memories ever!
You already have a cold frame greenhouse. You already have high tunnels as well. If you change names, I will not know what you are talking about as a subscriber, lol. Lastly, it's your place and your prerogative, name them how it is best to differentiate for yourself. If you do change it, we just will have to figure it out.
I see a lot of people talking about this but not sure why. I just assume Laura will call her glasshouse whatever she wants. Hartley is ok. Glasshouse is ok. We all know what it is without so much drama from the groupies imo. I find it more offensive when I see people being sarcastic towards others here. Chill out people.
@@cingbur7824 Oh! I didn't mean you. Sorry if my post made it seem so. Just the general vibe of the entire comments section can sometimes seem sarcastic. No offense meant to anyone in particular.
It’s pure insanity to me that anyone would leave a comment that the resolution or quality has gone down. This channel’s high professional level quality, editing, and sound is part of what makes it the best. It’s better than 99% of the junk on tv. Laura being a natural overshadows any alleged quality issues. Aaron, you’re pretty baller too. 😂👍🏻
Idea for an easy (?) Video? Put a camera on a tripod and aim it at the Hartley so we can watch the progress. You wouldn't have to say anything. Just an idea.
Omg! Yes!! A time lapse video, with a little music in the back ground as needed. That would be a great video- that would only require a little, "hey guys, how's it going" intro. 🤣
Love hearing you call the glass greenhouse “the Hartley”. Perfection on many levels- recognize what you are referencing; absolutely love the joy in your voice; rejoice in your vision of what it will provide for your life and how all mentioned feeds viewers spirits!!
My son started sleeping through the night when we put a fan in our room, but I didn't make the connection until it was a cool night, and we didn't have the fan running, and he didn't sleep through the night that night. The next few nights with the fan going, he slept all night. The noise of the fan was soothing and kept him asleep... try it.
Oooo, White noise! Wonderful, but what do u do when you go somewhere for the night, and no fan? I guess you could take a fan everywhere you needed, but.....
God bless Aaron for letting you know you had a tiny strand of hair sticking up (something that wouldn’t bother your viewers but would have bothered you). Good man.
This is how I see The Hartley...it is a gift from all of the faithful viewers that know you best. It is not showy..We watch and learn so much from you, therefore your views go way up and you earn money from that. When I here you say "The Hartley " I hear your enthusiasm and am so happy we helped you get it ❤ Keep up the good work we all appreciate your entire crew and family!!!
"The Hartley". That is what is going in. The Hartley is a glass greenhouse sure, but what a special one! I think, like many of the viewers, you should call it by its real name.
Okay for folks who keep getting there string in a twist over the Hartley name, as a Brit, it's a Hartley end of. A vacuum is a hoover, sticky tape, cello tape. Would moan if they called the glass building too. Just is stop stressing over something not important. Also to sum it all up. That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet” William Shakespeare's
Please ignore the"trigger" responses. It only reinforces their rude comments. You are kind enough to invite us into your garden and share a glimpse of your family life. I enjoy your videos and have learned so much. And I really enjoy seeing your family and pets.
Suggestion to make the 6th video every week just regular garden maintenance with or without voiceover to make it as effortless as a filmed video could be (which still takes effort of course). Watching/hearing plants get pruned and flower beds get weeded/cleaned up is so relatable and relaxing. Thanks for all that y'all do!
Just for your feedback, I LOVE the new format that shows all the work involved with maintenance projects! Also, I feel you do the perfect balance of seasonal projects, fall, Christmas. No need for holiday projects per se. Also, I don't watch mail time videos. To me it feels really awkward. You're so gracious, but I know you don't need all of that stuff, which means you then have to do something with it. It feels a little invasive. Love your channel!!!
I so enjoy how real you two are! You’re a pleasure and a joy to watch! Thank you! 🤗. My husband’s grandmother had an outhouse until she died in 1974! The family tried to talk her into letting them install a bathroom but she said she “didn’t want one of those nasty things in her house!” 😂🤣😂
Lots of charities love it when they get fresh fruits and veggies from gardeners. The charity that my church in my hometown supports loves nothing more than adding things like fresh peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash to their weekly family food boxes. And the families that receive them are always so grateful. It’s a nice change from the canned foods and dried goods they get every week.
@@coloraturaElise She is really sweet! I planned some squashes, tomatoes and cucumbers in my back yard. Look forward to having a harvest so I can donate some to the community food Charity🌅🌱🌻🦋🦋🦋
Laura, I’m offended that you would call the Hartley “the glass greenhouse”. Please return to using the proper name...The Hartley! 😉 You earned it. Call it what it is.
This heat in the high 90s and over 100 is too much. I feel like my plants have taken a break from growing because it is just too hot. Love your recaps. Always look forward to them. 😊
When you were planting in your greenhouse with the shade cloth, I thought “Wouldn’t it be nice if Laura did a tour of all she has hanging in there…even if they’re in their garden cans.” It’s just a thought when you have these 100+ days ahead. What type of greenhouse is it?
108 degrees f is about 42 degrees c. That is unimaginable to us here in the UK. I am in North West of England and the best we’ve had for the last few weeks is 17-18c (about 65ish) We class that as a lousy summer (especially as it’s wet a lot of the time) but it is fairly normal for us. We get overly excited when we have a run of 22-25c 🙄. On the upside we are forecast 22c sometime during the next 2 weeks (for about 5 days) and will count ourselves extremely lucky if it actually happens! We still have lovely gardens though - just not for as long a season as you. No wonder we Brits are obsessed with the weather 🙄 and we who follow you live our gardening dreams vicariously through your wonderful, inspirational and motivating videos. Keep them coming as it keeps us going! 😊
Cannot believe there are not more compliments on your arrangements. They are exceptional! The combinations are creative and just breathtaking. You are an artist, Laura.
I have started wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants outside when I garden. To my surprise I am actually more comfortable than wearing a t-shirt and shorts! I am now a convert You inspired me to give it a try. Thank you!
Enjoyed your voice over. Please do more. Relax I'm amazed all you do with 2 little ones...voice over and any thing else to make things easy and I for one like seeing things from different perspectives. If that makes sense.BUT I truly enjoy how consistent you are with putting out a video every morning. Very professional. I appreciate your hard work. Take care and enjoy those children.
The 'Cutting back Salvia, Deadheading Roses...' video was wonderful. You did let us know so much about what you were doing. We love all your videos, BUT we also want you to be able to move along with the mammoth amount of work that exists, in some seasons even more than others, and this is a good way for you to monitor and control what you need to. Thanks for all you do for us, but remember YOUR needs also. 😍
I wish all your videos were at least 30 minutes long. More coffee time in the morning and to get me cranked up to go outside and get to work. Love it when some of your videos turn out to be an hour long. I've learned so much from you in the past 6 months of finding your channel. I have watch every video now and crave more. I guess I'm gonna have to go back a rewatch em again. I bet you could "own it" if you gardened here in Kentucky. We get rain, our soil is rich and grows about anything you could want. Wish I could garden like you do with all your plant knowledge and your ability to design beautiful flower beds. I'm too old and my body in bad shape now to do so much. We do have a garden that is almost an acre this year. My root cellar is getting bare, hence the big garden again. Love your channel, keep it up.
I love the comment from Aaron that nobody would be using out houses in the 50’s/60’s let alone the 70’s. I was born in Santa Rosa, CA (Sonoma) in 1971. I went to private school with kids whose houses did not have indoor plumbing yet. I have had to use an outhouse at several peoples homes. Luckily not mine. :) The house built on that land have been sold in the millions now but quite a few of them did not have indoor plumbing until around the 80’s. Count yourself lucky to have never been introduced to them. :)
My boyfriend grew up in rural Wisconsin and they had an outhouse in the 60s and 70s. They eventually got indoor plumbing. Hearing his stories about using the bathroom outside when it’s way below freezing out makes me so thankful for indoor plumbing.
Does not seem right for you to call the HARTLEY( the glass green house) my vote is the Hartley. You need to have a beautiful sign made with gold leaf (the Hartley ) .
That's some mighty fine ice in your glass. I like how your terracotta saucers have more than one function. Please continue calling your new installment The Hartley. That's what we know it as and we totally share in your excitement of you having one. Don't just call it a glass greenhouse. I can't imagine Harley owners refer to them as motorcycles or Corvette owners refer to their vehicle as cars. You bought it so you can call it what ever you like. ♥️
I liked the voice-over video where you got so much done in two or three hours with Aaron filming. It seems like those types of videos every now and then would help you to keep from getting burnt out. Also, updates are as important to me as the planting because it helps me decide what and how much of something I want to plant in my own garden or pots. I don't want to spend the money to totally pack out a pot and then spend lots of time watering and fertilizing to keep it looking decent through the hot part of summer. I had much rather put in enough plants to look good at the beginning and then slowly grow into something fantastic by the end.
Ideas for non-project based/hot day videos for this summer: - cooking with produce from your harvest - indoor succulent planter or succulent tips - indoor fairy garden - hanging out with your mom - tour of another persons garden - plant/area updates (there’s a lot you’ve planted earlier this season or late last season that we’d love to see the progress on) - you guys have done these re-edit videos where you compile footage from an area throughout the years or a project from start to finish. We’d love to see that again and doesn’t require new footage, that would just be all Ken! Just some thoughts! Love you guys and don’t want you to feel stressed out filming in the heat of the day just to make a video for us. We’d watch so many other things as well because we love spending time with you!
You and your family are amazing people! I am so grateful for you, your knowledge, your channel & all that you share 💗 Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being you, & for all that you do💗 Stay well and keep safe xo
The first and most important thing I've learned from Laura is that the garden will always be a work in progress. Makes it easier for me to try things without the fear of failure stopping any progress. 😍
We love all that you do! Random content. Mail videos. New format with voice over. You and your family are a highlight and blessing to our lives. Keep it up. Thank you so much for sharing.
Please call it The Hartley---but in your head, just envision it as "Heartly" (since it was on your heart for so long). Perhaps put a decorative sign or topiary (heart themed of course) at the entrance.
Really enjoying all your videos but the recaps became so special to me! What ever you do is good, don't feel compelled to make holiday specific, what you have until now is great and I love them. I do miss the days you don't have a video though I don't want you guys to burn out! ❤🤗❤
STUDIO ECHO IDEA: I remember you talking about trying to improve the acoustics in the studio and also your desire to add some color, maybe try hanging come long curtains on one of the plain walls (not over the windows). Should instantly warm up the space aesthetically and tonality wise.
Had a chuckle when someone was worried about properly positioning sunflower seeds. Anyone who feeds the birds and squirrels, even if they don't garden, knows how easy sunflowers are to grow from seed. The chipmunks and squirrels use to plant tons of them for me, lol.
I don't like SUMMER .I love to wear a light jacket and cozy clothes. It's 99 in So.dry California. I know what you mean. Spring is my favorite season.🥰😇
I 100 percent agree with the temp 50 to 65 F is my IDEAL as well, tho I feel a bit spoiled, as I live in Coastal New England and today , after our rain storm, it's only in the low 70's. You should move to New England Laura :) You wont have your soil issue (we grow blueberries and very blue hydrangea with native soil) but get ready for Rabbits and Deer and snails :) Concerning hats I wear my old Big brimmed gardening hat EVERY day and also long sleeves tucked in gloves and sometimes, depending on the insects, I wrap netting around my hat and face like an Edwardian lady, LOL, I might look odd, but it's my habit :) Also Sun protection is pretty important, to me anyway. We love how you do you, where you have your "vans" I have my old worn out Wellies that were my grandfather's (I have big feet Ha Ha) We gardeners do have our idiosyncrasies.
I never could let my son fuss either. He has turned out to be a phenomenal man. And I do look back wishing I was a more fun mom. I probably need to ask my son about his perception of that. I really like organization. So I may have been a little nuts about that. I tried to be fun.
Never let my son cry, why would I! He never cried much anyway. Never had that fake crying scene or any of those crazy crying tantrums I see in public that parents seem to just not hear. I always say to myself, “momma, just pick that baby up, hold him, and calm him. That’s all he needs, he will grow up soon enough.”
I hear this loud noise this morning and I thought my father in law was moving stuff around in his garage. So when I get out of bed I come into the kitchen and look outside. ( my husband and I do this every morning to see if there's any hummingbirds at our feeders) I looked at them and turned to the left and looked at the sky. Holy Mother of Pearl, it looked liked some painted the sky a gray/black color. About that time it thundered and it sounded like some was shooting off a cannon. It shook my windows! Then here came the lighting and then the rain. It got so dark in my house I had to turn the lights on. BUT, I would rather have the rain than your alls sand storm's. That would drive me nuts. The picture of Benjamin and Samantha Grace is absolutely adorable!! By the way,WE WOULD NEVER GET BURNT-OUT ON YOUR VIDEOS. THAT'S THE FIRST THING I LOOK FOR ON RUclips IN THE MORNINGS. ANOTHER BUT, if I had a choice of doing a video for other people or chilling out with my kids, I would choose my kids. Making special memories with them will be the best thing that will happen in your life. I am so glad that I got to be a stay at home mom and watch my son do all the "first" things as he grew up. I can smile and tell funny stories to his children about what mischief dad got into when he was their age. They love to hear stories about their dad. And I love sharing them. It reminds me how lucky I am to have a son that I am proud of and how much I love him. So if you guys want to take a couple of days off, do it. You never know when life will throw you a curve ball.

This old lady agrees 100%
😢 My Grandma's name was Dee in Michigan... Not a name you see a lot!
Well said!🪴
I agree!
Dee..This is beautifully said.
can we just talk about how she has her new ice mounted up in a cup, which is sitting on a plant saucer!?!?! 😂🤣 This is why laura is my people 👌🏽😂 that’s something I would do.
Terracotta is actually a great coaster, I do this all the time too!
I was noticing that also.
Hahaha, Yes!!!
Garden Answer branding opportunity. Terra cotta plant saucer coasters!

~ Lisa
LB well said!!
Hartley means greenhouse. It’s the Hartley. That’s ok by me!!!
We never want to to feel bad if you need time off. Please. You deserve time off! ❤️
The fact that her glass is just casually sitting on a terracotta saucer and not a coaster 😂 Gotta love Laura’s authenticity 💁🏻♀️
Ha ha, I just noticed the clay saucer!!! Good eye!!!!
Hey, do you guys grow Rhubarb? I have to divide mine, from one , will be three., but when?
Glad to join in the chorus of : It’s The Hartley! That’s what YOU call it, rightfully so, please don’t change for a few jealous twits!
I couldn’t agree more! It’s jealousy!!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
idea= do a Throwback Thursdays when you don't have new content to post. Use your top 5 or 10 things to plant or whatever other videos you want feature.. This would allow new subscribers to watch for the first and give long time viewers a refresher.
Oh, I love this idea
, I’ve watched from the very beginning but watching older videos is fun & I always pick something up that I might have missed or forgotten!
I like the "Throwback Thursday" idea also. You have so much content that is so rich with information. To review some of your technique videos or just to get your vast knowledge about certain plants would be wonderful. I'm new to growing hydrangea and I often search for info you have shared over the years on that topic.
Yes. LOVE this. I just watched your vegetable garden videos from the last four years so I could see your progression over time.
Laura and Aaron I think you push yourselves to give us content, most of us would settle for shorter videos about only one subject and you could divide those multi subject ones into 2 or 3 day episodes. We do not want you guys over worked and then burn out. You guys are the best plant channel out there….
Yes! Voiceover after actual activity seems more streamlined! Probably easier and more productive for you too!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Would NOT mind more of it!
I actually found that quite helpful. Streamlined is a good word for it.
I so agree with you.
I also agree, you deserve days off too!
Yeah... what she said... lol
Hartley Hartley Hartley!!! We’re all for calling it the Hartley. You’ve been waiting for this moment for years- now that it’s here you better call it but it’s true name . That’s what you call it in your heart anyway 😅
YES!!!!
I agree!👍😊
Do you!!! 🤗🙌🏻
Absolutely! It is a Hartley!
Absolutely times two! 🥰🙏
THIS !!!!! Thank you!!!
Laura, as much as you do, you don’t need no stinking treadmill!
Really appreciate you addressing Mail Time. You handled it beautifully
And NO, we do not see either of you as begging for gifts. Because you do not do so :)
We do so because we love you 😊
I agree say "ditto" to Laura Mason's comments below. It is a Hartley!!!!!! One of a kind, you worked hard for that and kudos to you. When I heard you say, "glass greenhouse" I chuckled to myself and said, "Hartley" .
Did you catch that Aaron called it the Hartley??!! ❤
Yes I did! 😁❤
LOL
Giggling at Laura's coaster being a plant saucer. :)
Hartley’s should never be downgraded to a glass Greenhouse … A Hartley IS A HARTLEY and it needs to be kept that way!
I like ‘The Hartley’ better than greenhouse 😍😍😍
We need a super cut of Laura repeating words with different pronunciations and asking how to pronounce it. I find it so endearing. 😁
Regarding outhouses: my grandparents had no indoor plumbing on their farm and used an outhouse until they left the farm. They didn’t move from there until 1968!!!! Also, their only water source their entire lives was a spring - my grandfather was born on that farm, in 1886.
Amazing history
I like calling it the Hartley....and I also love Sam or Sammie for a girl...its cute and spunky
I grew up in Ohio, My grandma lived the old farm life. She had an outhouse and the old water wells where you had to pump for water that came out so cold you didn't need ice cubes!! That's the place I love to stay the most as a kid. Those are the best memories ever!
I don't understand why you're reluctant to call your greenhouse "the Hartley", that's what it is, no problem here.
Because a few unhappy people mentioned that it bothered them! The Hartley deserves to be called The Hartley!
No sarcasm intended, just affirmation.
@@cingbur7824 Oh! I didn't mean you. Sorry if my post made it seem so. Just the general vibe of the entire comments section can sometimes seem sarcastic. No offense meant to anyone in particular.
I laughed out loud thinking of sweet Benjamin on the lawn mower listening to Farmer in the Dell! ❤️😃
I thought that was sooooo cute!
Your dad is hilarious.
Sign of a true garden junkie - terra cotta saucer as a coaster 🤣
It’s “The Hartley!!!” And I can’t wait to see it completed!!! 🌸💕🌸 😊
I vote "The Hartley" and wear what you want to wear. And thats all I have to say about that!
Laura...it's The Hartley...it's ok to call it that!
I need a T-shirt that says “It’s a Hartley”
Seems like a good merch idea!
Awesome!😂👍🏻
Love hearing you call the glass greenhouse “the Hartley”. Perfection on many levels- recognize what you are referencing; absolutely love the joy in your voice; rejoice in your vision of what it will provide for your life and how all mentioned feeds viewers spirits!!
My son started sleeping through the night when we put a fan in our room, but I didn't make the connection until it was a cool night, and we didn't have the fan running, and he didn't sleep through the night that night. The next few nights with the fan going, he slept all night. The noise of the fan was soothing and kept him asleep... try it.
Takes a fan running for me to sleep too.
Oh, I need a fan to sleep!
Oooo, White noise! Wonderful, but what do u do when you go somewhere for the night, and no fan? I guess you could take a fan everywhere you needed, but.....
@@patcox8745 oh Lordy, hubs & I have been known to travel with our own box fan, 🤣🤣
My grandchildren all have their own white noise machines and they take them with them when they spend the night away from home.
God bless Aaron for letting you know you had a tiny strand of hair sticking up (something that wouldn’t bother your viewers but would have bothered you). Good man.
I was thinking the Same thing!! Lol 👍💞💞
Hartley Hartley Hartley Hartley Hartley. That’s it’s name !!!! It’s okay to say it’s name. Lol.
Hartley!
Okay, you wouldn’t call a Monet “a painting”! You would call it “”The Monet”! 💕
Laughing at that coaster!!! Such a Laura thing to use!!!😂😍
I watch your channel for gardening info. I usually skip if there is a mail time because I find it very tedious
Me too!
Me too.
Is getting your string in a twist the same as getting your panties in a wad? If so, as a Yank, I agree completely.
Good point, and all Americans seems to call tissues by the brand name ‘kleenex’ so why the big deal for ‘Hartley’!!?
Right? Here it's kleenex, jello. And over here it's scotch tape, but never sticky tape.
Please ignore the"trigger" responses. It only reinforces their rude comments. You are kind enough to invite us into your garden and share a glimpse of your family life. I enjoy your videos and have learned so much. And I really enjoy seeing your family and pets.
Your holiday themed ones are Easter, Fall and Christmas. That's enough for me.
Agree! Actually I would be fine with just Christmas. I can't do fall here in central Alberta, lol.

Yes, please do more garden maintenance videos! Very helpful to see what you cut back and how much you can cut back plants
We love seeing Aaron in the videos, please don’t stop being in there.
Totally agree!👍👍👍
Laura has given her produce to charities in her area every year since she started in this property.
Oh my gosh! You look so cute in a baseball hat and ponytail!!!
I love to watch you and Aaron talk so freely. I get excited to hear what's next. Thank you for the information on ordering seeds.
There is no easy area to garden in. Everyone has their challenges and blessings. We all just need to learn how to garden with what we are given.
This heat in the high 90s and over 100 is too much. I feel like my plants have taken a break from growing because it is just too hot. Love your recaps. Always look forward to them. 😊
Love how you are using a terracotta saucer as your coaster. 😉
A lot of plants drop flowers and stop growing just to survive. Shade cloth is very helpful, it provides the relief they need to thrive again.
Wear what you want and film when you want! Enjoy your family and home! Blessings!
Amen. Agreed.
I'm totally geeking out! She answered my question!
She really is. I’ve never thought of it like that but that’s why she is so good and so satisfying to watch. It is artistry with a living medium.
I have started wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants outside when I garden. To my surprise I am actually more comfortable than wearing a t-shirt and shorts! I am now a convert You inspired me to give it a try. Thank you!
I love that a glazed terra cotta saucer was the go-to for a drink coaster 😂
Hello 👋 June
How are you doing today?
My grandparents didn't build a bathroom on to their Iowa farm house until the mid sixties
Does not seem right for you to call the HARTLEY( the glass green house) my vote is the Hartley. You need to have a beautiful sign made with gold leaf (the Hartley ) .
❤️👏👏
Love that idea!😊👍
Like mother like daughter. So cute.
I can't wait for fall either. Pretty much every year beginning on July 5th I'm ready for fall!
Me too!
Couldn't agree more. Hate all this humidity in Michigan.
Ideas for non-project based/hot day videos for this summer:
- cooking with produce from your harvest
- indoor succulent planter or succulent tips
- indoor fairy garden
- hanging out with your mom
- tour of another persons garden
- plant/area updates (there’s a lot you’ve planted earlier this season or late last season that we’d love to see the progress on)
- you guys have done these re-edit videos where you compile footage from an area throughout the years or a project from start to finish.
I am so grateful for you, your knowledge, your channel & all that you share 💗
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being you, & for all that you do💗
Stay well and keep safe xo
The first and most important thing I've learned from Laura is that the garden will always be a work in progress. Makes it easier for me to try things without the fear of failure stopping any progress. 😍
We love all that you do! Random content. Mail videos. New format with voice over. You and your family are a highlight and blessing to our lives. Keep it up. Thank you so much for sharing.
The maintenance video was my recent favorite. Plus, it’s motivation in this horrid heat. My vote is for more day-in-the-life content.
It's A Hartley. KEEP CALM and CARRY ON
Please call it The Hartley---but in your head, just envision it as "Heartly" (since it was on your heart for so long).
I’m with you. Spring and Fall are my seasons.
I 100 percent agree with the temp 50 to 65 F is my IDEAL as well, tho I feel a bit spoiled, as I live in Coastal New England and today , after our rain storm, it's only in the low 70's. You should move to New England Laura :)
You wont have your soil issue (we grow blueberries and very blue hydrangea with native soil) but get ready for Rabbits and Deer and snails :)
Concerning hats I wear my old Big brimmed gardening hat EVERY day and also long sleeves tucked in gloves and sometimes, depending on the insects, I wrap netting around my hat and face like an Edwardian lady, LOL, I might look odd, but it's my habit :) Also Sun protection is pretty important, to me anyway.
Please don't quit doing your Christmas decorating videos! I love them!!!
I totally agree about the holiday attitude. Don’t change.
LOVE YOUR SHOW. Just discovered your program - now binge-watching! Learned so much - clearly taught by you. Now this 72 YO is going out to buy house plants this weekend. AND my 75 YO hubby bought a hedge trimmer & got it done! Now he’s ready for boxwoods! Thank you & Aaron for sharing your your garden answers & your lives & your precious kids. BTW ignore comments about your hair, shirts, etc! BE YOURSELVES … that’s why we watch!
