It is very slight, but because the Latercase is more of a soft texture and Pitaka is more of a hard texture, the Latercase seems to have slightly more grip. However, that is a very slight difference and ultimately there isn't much of a difference.
What's the purpose of putting a case 9n a cell phone, if it's not going to protect it when you drop it, for that reason, I'll just show off the phone with no case.

The Pitaka comparison is great actually. I want to get one of these cases. Latercase also has the screen protector. Have you tried theirs out?

The midnight and the coffee versions to me are a bit more rigid feeling which leans to being a bit less grippy than the original.

I wouldn’t say it grabs onto the table, more slides around fairly easily.
When you buy the later case it says that it ships with 2 screen protectors??
I may have missed it, but I am not seeing it, I do see where you can add them for an additional cost.

Depends on how much protection you are looking for are or comfortable with. It's a balance between heft and form factor with level of protection.
