Kevlar/aramid fibers are extremely flexible. This case starts off as a fabric, and it is the raw fabric that has most of the properties such as being flame resistant. In order to make a case, it is baked with an epoxy style resin to make it rigid. That is what was burning and bubbling under the flame, not the fibers themselves.
this vid really helped me with deciding which case to buy, thanks! Also, You are incredibly pleasant to listen to and your script seems well thought through! I'm subbing!
I love Lew. I watch all the Unbox Therapy videos. But this, this is truth. I just wanted to know the real thing, is Lew selling legit or not? Conclusion: He's selling legit with limitations.
The Latercase is essentially a $4 case from China -- an imitation of the Pitaka case -- rebranded as "Latercase." There are some cases that are exact knockoffs of both cases from Chinese factories (with the same materials and designs) that can be bought in bulk for 80 cents per case. I say "$4 case from China" when I include branding and shipping. Lew turns around and sells them at $50 (with shipping) -- a markup of about 1150%.

I know LewCase is from alibaba with minor revisions but can you make a review and showing the difference with LewCase phone vs The one from PitaKa and one from Alibaba.
Really didn't like the way it snapped onto the phone. Seems very brittle and as if it doesn't crack on a fall, it would at least pop off. At least add some bumper support as it seems to have none
This time at least he has launched his case may be in future he may also launch his own phone brand by stating that " smartphones will ruin you so I launched my own smartphone"
The open bottom part is useful now that we have swipe gestures to go home. I switched from a case that has the bump because it got in the way and with my fat fingers I couldn't go home or recent apps in my phone.
Don't wash it with soft soap either. It will wash away the water resistant coating and cause annoying smudging on the back. Normal wear from in and out of pocket will also cause this to happen.
I promote customers having an awareness of the product market!

So you think Lew did nothing wrong that's worth telling your audience. Like hiding an old video where he reviewed the Pitaka case positively, so he can now say he'd never liked a single case. Then also striking a copyright claim against the Pitaka channel for the same video.
Its fire resistant not fire proof. Which it did its job well. It didnt completely melt or significantly deform like another material would. Id say its a great case and isnt some scam. People just dont understand that resistant does not mean completely imperious to fire 😂
There are hundreds of case makers etc that "copy" each other. I don't blame him. Also, imo, the LaterCase protects better than Pitaka on my particular model, s21u, since it overlaps the front screen at least a little which P doesn't.
Kevin Riazi the Kevlar case is fire resistant. The lens ring does not appear to be Kevlar... he stated that the Kevlar is fire resistant... you quote him too. His claim is correct. That’s all I’m saying.
The case looks amazing. And if you are someone who doesn’t drop your phone. This is the case for you. Also the packaging is amazing. Don’t need all that branding and stuff. You know what you bought and they are letting the product do the talking not the branding.
Didn’t even have to test this to know it was shit, I mean the whole point to cases is to protect your phone so why would you get a case that breaks your phone
something staying unharmed has nothing to do with fireresistance. what happend to the case in your test is actually part of the resins fireretardant mechanism. it builds up a fireretardant layer when met with the according heat. long story short, because of what happened to the resin in this kevlar composite the case would not start to burn. the camera ring is another story, obviously.
i do own Pitaka MagEZ for 12 pro max and Later Case Cyber Edition... and i prefer the Later case by far.. you gotta own the 2 to compare them. Not a freakin flame thrower.. O_O Pitaka is thicker and you dont feel the kevlar fibers by touch and the overall feeling is totally different. If you want maximum protection for everything just go Otterbox. EDIT: PS: Oh and pitaka is actually more expensive even if they jumped in the bandwagon from the kiddos on UnboxTherapy "drama" to get some free advertising themselves even if they had no reasons to.
@@KevinRiazi Why? What consumer is going to take a torch to a phone case? It's not practical. And not for anything but the camera hole melted-duh it's plastic.
It didn’t burn. The Kevlar are just the woven fibres that are bound in an epoxy which will bubble and burn when heated.
