I’ve had a Latercase on my current phone and was able to fit a thin magnet plate on the inside of the case between the case and the phone for my car mount. I’m considering switching to Pitaka but concerned the same plate won’t fit in between the phone and Pitaka due to thicker/sturdier material. What do you think?
I first began using aramid cases when I got my Fold3... Every other case out there just made that phone HUGE. They were protective sure. But far too big. Gave the LaterCase a try, nearly 3 years later here we are. That phone looks like the day I got it. Been dropped many times. Made me a believer. I now have one for my OnePlus 12 as well. Love that they protect the cameras. I do wish they could include magsafe somehow integrated without sacrificing strength. But they do offer rings to purchase, and they work great. Cheers.
For the life of me I will never understand why case reviewers repeatedly emphasize how little drop protection super thin cases have as if it’s a flaw. It’s a feature. It’s exactly what people looking for ultra thin cases are looking for because all they WANT is scratch protection or minimal minor drop protection.
Totally agree... just don't want to mislead someone into thinking there is drop protection where there is not. Thanks for the comment though, I'll keep that in mind!
Should’ve compared later case cyber edition and Pitaka air case, the LC is thinner at 0.6mm because no MagSafe. Same as Air case 0.6mm. The MagEZ you shown has 1.5mm thickness.
I bought the later case for my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. I think it just feels wonderful in the hand, the material is wow, no edges, weighs nothing, keeps the design of the smartphone great... It was just really worth its price and I would pay $45 for it again anytime. Definitely great video, thanks😊
I disagree on protection, I have had pitaka on my iPhone X for like more than 2 years and dropped it countless times... to the point where the cover was scratched to the point I could see phones surface but my phone have been perfectly safe and fine.
That’s great to hear. It’s not that I don’t think it will provide drop protection, it’s more that I wouldn’t recommend to some who is prioritizing protection, Pitaka over a tough case only due to its thinness. But good to know your phone has made it through some drops.
Mike, I did put Pitaka on my phone after that video and gave it a few more days of use, great case, but it made me like Latercase even more - which is what I have on my phone now. Both great cases, but for me, I like the fit and finish of Latercase a bit more.
Totally your call... both options are great.... I tend to lean Latercase, but if you really want something that is completely MagSafe, go Pitaka. Thanks!
@thechristaft you know ive never needed anything to be magsafe compatible. And given how much pricier the pitaka is than the latercase, i might end up going latercase
I was about to buy a carbon fiber case. They are pricey. I was hoping it actually has good protection while still being thin because of the materials but it seems not. Not really worth it then I find. I would just get a skin instead for that minimalistic feel
I’ve been using Latercase in my car on a MagSafe car mount with no issues, even over larger bumps, so the case really doesn’t lessen the magnetic hold much if any. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your advice on cases that will work with the Moshi edge to edge screen protector.just got the Pitaka new MagEZ case pro and the Moshi screen protector works great with it Love the case very nice oil print magnet though ‘but that’s a small problem’ Thanks
Great Video’ I have the iPhone 13 pro max too. Which I have a Moshi edge to edge screen protector. Which one of the cases would you recommend because of the edge to edge screen protector ?
Anthony, thanks for watching. I have to admit I have not used a full edge to edge screen protector like the Moshi, but I was able to find a video that listed several cases that were compatible. It mentions Rhinoshield cases, Evutec cases, and Speck Presidio. And if those cases work, I would also look at Apple's own cases as they should be fine too.
Thanks for this, i couldn’t decide between the two! Decided on neither. I knew they didn’t provide much in the way of protection, but seeing it in a video vs pictures really made me feel like I’d be overpaying for that tiny bit of material and protection. It gave me anxiety just looking at it, lol Maybe if i had Apple Care I’d do it, but for now I’m gonna go with the Apple Leather
DO NOT BUY Mag EZ Pro Case for the iPhone 13 Pro Max!!! This case it PEALS after a FEW months!!! It is not like the Pro Case for the 11 iPhone Pro Max. The front rim has a thin matte coating that feels great but will peal off quickly. More effort was spent on making the cardboard box it comes in.
I wish the pitaka case had the same camera cutout as the later case. That would be the perfect aramid case.
Agreed, love the more precise camera cutout!
I've had both & I strongly suggest Pitaka over LatterCase. It's just better built.
Does it feel like ruff carbon fibre or smooth plastic ?
@@GILBYKILLS It's smooth
Latercase has more of a soft smooth feel. Pitaka has a more rigid hard feel, but both are smooth.
Pitaka doesn’t make cases for all iphone models just newer phones

@@thechristaft fair point

Great point, I’ll have to pick one of those up.

i love the later case. i also have the black nomad rugged case. i switch off depending on how i feel

Just ordered a Latercase… Looking forward to your long term opinion on these cases… Do you still prefer the Latercase over the Pitaka Magez?

@@thechristaft thanks for your reply Chris!
I just bought 5 days ago later case again after 2 years of my old one. I love its I have one plus 10 pro. gave a like
Great to hear! I’m still rockin one on my iPhone.
@@thechristaft yea Love it working on My later Case video. LoL 😅😉

Thanks for this man. Im trying to decide between the 2 but for the S23 Ultra instead.

You’ll still get MagSafe with Latercase, it’s thin enough that the case doesn’t interfere.
that's not the label for Latercase, it's Evutech, they are the original manufacturer, in the past they made official cases for Oneplus
Good to know, thanks!
Pitaka case edges that come up over the screen are really sharp. I hate that about it.
Yeah, I know it’s for screen protection, but agree that they are sharp. Thanks!

Yeah, they are pricey, and while they don’t offer what I would consider as much protection as other cases, they are an upgrade over a skin.
I like the camera cutout on the Latercase. But I wonder if the case weakens the magnets for MagSafe accessories?

I am using Latercase with Spigen’s full screen protector without facing any issues!

Smart choice in terms of protection you would be taking a risk. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you
You should review the pitaka magez case pro case for iPhone 13 pro max for full protection.
Mind you it’s rarely in stock due to high demand.
I’ll check it out.
Is it slippery?
Neither case was slippery. They aren’t, textured necessarily, but the material has some sticky mess. Thanks for watching!
He looks like gru
You can’t compare MagSafe case to a non MagSafe case it’s UNFAIR. Pitaka has a non MagSafe case and hands down the latercase wins
Yeah, I’m going to get both non MagSafe to compare with the new iPhones, thanks for the comment!

paid by later case, you can see how the lenses don't align at all and it's sooo flimsy
Sorry Gustavo, I haven’t had any issues myself.
