I'd like to see a LED board incorporated with the GBA that changes color depending on battery level similar to how the original power LED on the GBA operates.

I just bought a lcd screen to drop in a gameboy color to give to my 4 yr old son and I gotta say a majority of my confidence came from your videos otherwise I would never dare before thank you for just doing what u love and sharing it with us all 🥰
Sweet mod, I love how these old consoles are still relevant today as original hardware and collection pieces especially in an age where owning something also adds the ability to customize but not with just simple stickers or new cases but added LEDs, upgraded screens, touch sensors, rechargeable battery with wireless charge abilities, etc... 50-100 years from now these devices, LOVINGLY modded, will change from owner to owner and STILL be worth their weight in nostalgic gaming goodness with the added touch of individualistic-ness within them. Great job The Retro Future!

You have inspired me to mod my GBA SP, I’ve purchased the ips V2, pre cut shell and the 900mAh battery from retro modding. I still haven’t received it 5 weeks later and I’m only in the UK like you, which is ridiculous. But that’s not your fault so thanks for the content bro.
I did this mod. Same shell with clear teal buttons. IPS mod with precut shell for $55. It's perfect. I play it every day. Its so cool! Highly recommend this mod to anyone who loves gameboy games to get this. First, it's best to find someone good with skills to do the mod though. Could be tricky. Watch out for dust particles and screen alignment!

I've been wanting to do this mod. The first Gameboy I modded was a GBC and it was this exact color combo with a Funny Playing IPS. I since gave it to my friends' twins and miss it. This video is making me want to recreate that same GB with this screen now. Darn you Elliot, you always find a way to help me spend my money. Just kidding, loved the video as always.

I personally love that color combo. I actually reshelled my JoyCons to be purple with lime green buttons for the right and green with purple buttons for the left joycon
I just installed a Q5 screen last week in my GBC with a precut shell (59.99 on ebay) and glass screen. Highly recommend the mod. Only have to solder 3 wires to get the OSD working which I also recommend doing
I have one of these larger screens with a clear luminous case for my gameboy and it is great! Definitely reccomend this, I did it as my first mod and it worked perfectly.
I saw a picture of a Gameboy with a Gameboy Advance SP top stuck to it that was acting like a DS and now I want to see one actually made. Would be an amazing addition to all the cursed Gameboys if it was even possible

I like the larger screen size mods. Makes a big difference for me. I have a modded DMG and GBA and both amazing with larger IPS screens. 👍🏼

Honestly, purple and green are perfect together. I would have chosen this combo myself.
I just recently did this same mod but with a kit from Hand Held Legend and it is amazing!
Also for anyone wondering or thinking of buying a $25+/- roll of kapton tape. you dont need it. Use electrical tape, hell even clear tape works.
