What’s your favorite award winning chili combo ? Let's share our favs!
Do you mean what to eat with the chili? My go-to would always be cornbread. Yum.
Good video! I love any chili with some added veggies. Black beans, kidney beans, and a good amount of garlic! I recently made a chili with butternut squash noodles... it was amazing!
Chili isn't chili without black beans. Combo... also love cornbread but have a corn allergy :(. Replaced cornbread with some sort of grilled sandwich.
Diced raw onions and hot sauce on top of the chili...sometimes with shredded cheese and sour cream.
Some vegan yogurt and roasted pumpkin seeds from this butternut squash will be my combo to this chili... Hi, from Germany by the way... And... What the hell is "all spices"? I don't have a clue... 🤔
I just made this today and my whole family really enjoyed it. My husband is super picky about his food, he normally doesn't eat chilli. I was surprised that he ate seconds. We are trying to eat healthier meals. My two year old ate a whole bowl by himself. I just found your channel a week ago and I'm grateful to you, thank you. Definitely adding this to my rotation
I eat meat and animal products but it always annoyed me that so many other meat eaters completely disregard vegan recipes without any consideration at all. not every meal has to have an animal in it and there are so many amazing vegan recipes out there like your garlic parm pasta or pretty much any of your sheet pan recipes.
Appreciate you, Gavin! Couldn't agree more. Even back when i ate meat, i would get a few vegan meals in.
No meal has to have an animal in it.
Could not agree more. Many meat eaters I know are pretty thoughtless when it comes to their eating habits...
@@tasfa10 not necessarily, plenty of people don’t have a choice.
@@gavinn.4060 If you're in a situation where you can be so picky as to discard any meal that doesn't have animals in it, I imagine you're not in living in dire scarcity. Sure, some people don't have a choice. I won't bother Inuits with talks of plant based diets, but a lot of people can make that choice and don't purely out of a gastronomic preference.
Let me say thank you for having string music while you chop up the vegetables instead of talking the whole time. Very relaxing
I have made this 5x now and it became a Christmas staple! Everyone I serve it to LOVES it 🙌
Your videos are not only "eye candy", but the BEST ASMR around!!!
❤️
Almazan kitchen would like a word with you.
@Andrew Bernard | The Nard Dog Cooks I don't use tofu or the pumpkin spice..but real pumpkin as it thickens, black, kidney, and pinto beans. Orange and yellow pepper only. Red and white onion. Fresh garlic ...What a color explosion in the bowl! I too eat with the eyes...Butternut small cubed. Cumin, tumeric, white pepper and chili powder for spice. Topped with or over cornbread crumbled..and jalapenos..
drooling over here!
Made this today and it's fantastic. Will be making it all winter. I don't like green peppers so I used red. Over the summer I started using Ancho chili powder for my non-vegan chili and now will use nothing else, so though chili powder type was not specified, trust me on this and thank me later. I like things a little spicier, so I used two chipotles. Finally, don't add your spices when you first start to soften the peppers and onions - you might burn them on the medium high heat. Instead follow standard practice of soften peppers and onions, then add garlic for 30 seconds, then add all the spices at that point with some of the stock so they will mix in better and not burn. Give them a couple minutes, then add the rest of the stock and other ingredients.
I really am glad I found this guy. I'm slowly becoming more vegan and his recipes are simple and taste great. I love the way he constructs his videos and explains things after.
Love you entire esthetic of your videos...very relaxing and enjoyable!! Love recipes that are one pot and especially those that indicate the weather is changing!!!... no more summer and hot weather!! I can only imagine the aromas filling the house while this is cooking!!...what a way to welcome company!! I don't know why I was waiting to see seeds inside that squash for some reason and yes I can understand why you need a sharp knife!! Reminded me of cutting sweet potatoes!! Thank you for sharing another great recipe!!...ready to enjoy the Fall and Winter months! Take care!!
Love all of this ❤️
Ditto!
Dude I can’t speak highly enough of how these recipe videos are produced. You can totally fallow along, it’s relaxing, and good food. Appreciate it so very much.
Your videos speak to my soul! Every video I watch, you're making meals that I didn't know existed but I know I would absolutely love. Thank you so much.
I made this for my family and it was a game changer. I will be making it again. We absolutely loved it, thanks for the recipe. 😊
I made this today and it is amazing! My husband and I are not vegans, but he thought that it did have meat in it. AND he ate it for supper. This is a guy who's a "meat and potatoes" kinda guy. I love your channel. I totally enjoy your presentation, wit, and of course the recipes. Thanks! 😊
I have been a vegetarian for many years, but only recently decided to prepare only vegan dishes. I came across your previous video and then watched this one. I really like not only your presentation, but how you sit down and talk about the ingredients, the meal, and substitutions. I definitely will be diving into past videos. Thanks.
I just made this recipe and it’s definitely going into my rotation. It is phenomenal 😋
just made this the other day. It's really good, easy to make, and doesn't require hard to find ingredients.
Going to use lean turkey, but I love the components of this recipe and all the layering. Finally! One with no pumpkin purée! Production was on point 👌
This Chili was absolutely amazing! The whole family loved it!
I was a bit skeptical about the spices, but the video was rather enticing, so I went with it. This is definitely a keeper. Tasty and hearty. Thanks for this and sharing delicious and healthy recipes.
The intense feeling of happy when you have ALL the ingredients to make this - this looks amaaaazing! PS I just discovered your channel and I LOVE how you present the recipes... really relaxing!
I just found this, too and totally agree
this looks incredibly thank you so much, definitely going to make this for my family. also unrelated to the recipe but you seriously have such a nice voice i wish you would narrate audiobooks as well
aww!!! thank you so much!!
The mitt got me dying! 🤣🤣🤣 I just love your since of humor another great video
🤗
I FREAKING LOVE THIS DISH! My family are very picky. They don’t eat meat is much, so I tried this, stepping out on a limb.! They loved it! At first, they were a little skeptical about the tofu ( what’s the white stuff floating around?) they asked…but they ate it and now this is considered a favorite dish! Thanks NARD DOG!!!❤
Try adding a tad of cardamom, it works in just about anything. I use it in baking (banana bread, white chocolate chip macadamia cookies), soups and stews, fresh tomato, cucumber and onion salad, etc. It doesn't take much (1/4 teaspoon in a batch of 4 dozen cookies) but adds a nuance to the flavor.
We garden and preserve so eating fresh/raw foods is just part of life for us. We have plenty of vegetarian or vegan meals in season. I picked a late season watermelon yesterday and I'm in Zone 6... I still have corn coming in but the racoons want it too.... I would add corn to this chili if it was in season.
This is an interesting recipe but soy gives my wife issues so if I make it I will do it at work. A lot of the veg is stuff I grow so it's low cost for me.
Now I'm going out and digging up some more potatoes...
BTW, that oven mitt move made me laugh out loud
😂 that makes me happy!
😭 Thankyou, you made this look simple & I have all these ingredients currently at home! I’m gonna try it tonight! 😊
Make this!! My husband is so happy I found this recipe, he has been craving chili for so long and nothing compares to this recipe. He showers praises with every bowl. I am absolutely putting this on repeat (and your chickpea curry). I added a couple cups of cooked wheat berries and a bit of wild rice in the last batch I made, and I'll definitely keep doing that, it adds a nice meaty chew. I would have never considered avocado in chili but I'll never forget it now that I know how delicious it is. It plays tag with the spices, it's just so divine. I also added a spoon full of yogurt right before serving, but I have yet to learn how to make vegan yogurt. Hmm, maybe you know? I'm very glad I found your channel, you've got one of the best for sure. Thank you for helping me show everyone how incredibly delish vegan cooking can be! Stay rad :)
This looks amazing! Anything with butternut squash is good in my books. Going to try this this weekend
This is the first recipe of yours I tried and WOW… amazing!! I love your videos and I’m eating more vegetarian meals per the recommendation of my cardiologist. This food will keep me on track!
Made this for dinner tonight. Everyone loved it. Will definitely make again. Thank you for another great recipe.
I'm looking forward to trying this recipe, looks so good. Love one pot. Enjoy how relaxing the video is. Thank you!
Haha! The bear paw mitt. 🤣🤣Also, YUM.
I made this last night and it was Fabulous! I'm going to take some vegan cornbread to go with it next time. Every recipe that I have tried from your channel has been amazing. Thank you so much for your awesome content!!!

Looks so yummy and EASY to make!!!! Definitely trying this one out very soon! Thank you!😎🍲
Yes, yes, yes, and YES. Thank you, Andrew! ❤

Hi Andrew. I made this chili this afternoon, and it's fantastic. Thanks for the recipe.
Looks amazing! Going to try it soon. Thanks for sharing.
This looks amazing. Already putting together my next shopping list with the ingredients.
Just made your chili recipe. It. Is. Awesome. ❤️. Perfect for the fall. I hadn't considered using pumpkin pie spice in chili and I've had mixed results with tofu - still tried it and I'm so happy that I did. Thank you for your amazing videos and sharing your recipes. I'm off to share this recipe with some friends.
Yummy....Totally making this next week. Sooooo excited for your fall/winter recipes 🧡
Hope you enjoy!
@@thenarddogcooks Thanks 😁
It looks so good, I swear I could smell it through the screen! Can't wait to make this one 😋
🙌🏾
I can’t wait to try this!
I just made this. I’ve been vegan for two months. While I have enjoyed many of the recipes I’ve tried from others, THIS! THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING CHILI IVE EVER HAD. I had my doubts going in that it would have enough seasoning but I was sorely mistaken. This allowed neurons in my brain to fire that I did not know existed. I’m so extremely satisfied. I feel like I just received a hug from God. Thank you. Deeply. Please tell me you have a cook book I can purchase immediately?
Absolutely enjoyed listening to the end part of this video as well.
I’m definitely saving this for later!
Omg, this recipe is freaking life changing brother... thank you!
It's actually refreshing when I see a you tube cooking channel that doesn't try to flex on me with Le Creuset cast iron lol.
Also, I really like this idea... I'm going to make this sometime this winter.
This looks delicious! My go to meal last Winter was soup made with chickpeas, potatoes and greens. But I’m looking forward to trying this.
this is an amazing style of recipe video. thanks, my guy
Just made it today - third meal of your channel I made myself and another delicious meal. I added 1 tsp of soybean paste at the end (highly recommended, just discovered it myself) which made it perfect for me.
My family would not approve of this recipe since some of them don't like tofu, others don't like pumpkin or pumpkin pie spice...but I am making this for myself because it sounds and looks amazing - especially since I love all the above ingredients :D Cozy, seasonal and comforting. Truly a perfect recipe for those colder months!
.
Lots and lots of love Andrew!
Have a great week ahead!
❤️ pic change? 🙌🏾 thank you so much, Margaret!
I tried this recipe. It's awesome!
So cut the Pumpkin into smaller pieces, take less Pumpkin Spice. Nobody will recognize the ingredients, not the tofu either.
This was delicious! Thanks for the recipe!
Oh my. This looks fantastic!
Hello from the western suburbs of Philadelphia! I made this recipe and it's outstanding! There is everything in here you're looking for in a bowl of chili. It's so savory and delicious. I'm going to keep this in my rotation for sure. You and your wife need to keep up the good work.
Just made this! It was sooooo good!
Will have to try this. Looks similar to a chili I like to make. Thank you!
We have a huge butternut squash harvest this year. I'll definitely give this a try!
This looks amazing. I’m going to make this🕊🥰
Definitely making this Drew
this is the first video of yours ive watched, and it wont be the last , trust me ;) this is exactly the type of food i love during autumn which is descending upon my part of the planet right now yeah ;)
lol that oven mitt is cute. Ty for your channel. This is the type of stuff we actually like eating, but the aesthetic of the way you present these recipes is fun to watch. :)
Okay, you have me with this recipe for sure! I am making this one
🙌🏾
totally amazing!!!
Funny story:
I remember having rice with butternut sauce and it was delicious 😋. Until one morning I woke up with diahoria (the kind that makes you poop lava till you pass out). I told my mother this and speculated that it was probably the butternut sauce. It also happened the 2nd time. Ever since then, I had NEVER had a dish with butternut at all. Which was very sad because I thought that the sauce was very good.
Nice! Ready for some fall meals.
Bam! Can’t wait to make this. Already have the ingredients!
That looks delicious!! Can't wait to try it 😃
That looks very tasty! I will be trying this recepy! 🥰
Wow. That looks outstanding. Adding it to our weekly menu!
🙌🏾
Turned out surprisingly good! Used hot whole chipotle peppers (that I chopped into small pieces) in adobo sauce, for spices used cinammon and some homemeade masala. The tofu and beans make it quite filling, just a hint of smokiness and spice in the end, complemented by the sweetness of the squash.
The production, the cinematography, the background music, the monologue, the jokes, the creativity and the sheer attractiveness of this gorgeous human being is just.... ahhh.
OMG! Looking forward to trying your recipe. And please know I think your videography is brilliant! I will be using one of your videos to teach my adult English students cooking vocabulary. I pray that you and all your family will enjoy health, safety, and much $$ success in all your endeavors.
My daughter is vegan she'll love this ,I know I'll enjoy making and eating it. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii
Great recipe! Thanks for the vid!
Ich bin begeistert wie mein vorhandener kulinarischer Horizont durch Dich erweitert wurde. vielen Dank Dafür ❤
Thank you for sharing this. Anxious to try it!
Hope you like it!
My family is italian Greek and persian. My grandmother(italian) made a dish every fall with butternut squash it was so simple and we never get tired of it. She would cook the butternut squash in extra Virgin olive oil with garlic salt and pepper, then add chickpeas add water and cook it for a while until the chickpeas garlic and butternutsquash would render down into like a soup or sauce. Sometimes with cauliflower. Then again the end would add homemade (plain not with egg) pasta noodles. So simple all vegan and a family hit even our friends used to come over for it. Smelled up the whole house. I know alot of healthy plant based people try to not overcook food and stay away from salt but man it was next level lol.
@TaJaliq Sariana I don't know if it's really horribly overcooked bc the color doesn't turn brown but it does cook for a while. You can speed the process up by mashing it while it Boils.
.Saute the garlic til light brown in olive oil, dont start til the oil is hot(very important it be browned)
.add the butternut squash(Sautee for a minute or too)
.add water just enough to cover the squash
.add salt and pepper
.boil with lid on until you can mash it in a puree
.Add small pastas(ditalini, cut spaghetti, orzo)*obviously if your vegan buy pasta without egg*
Serve when pasta absorbs most of the juice. If there is too much liquid don't dump it out just simmer with the lid off and let it reduce.
This exact recipe and steps works exactly the same with chickpeas, squash, cauliflower, broccoli. Also if you like spice and some crushed red pepper(chilli pepper)
.
🤤🤤🤤dang! You made me hungry! Such a great video, thank you
