I've been making this for over a year, so I'm delighted to see you making this, but I've changed a few things in the recipe. I use a mix of baby swiss and provolone for the cheese, as well as the parmesan of course. I also use Ritz crackers, bread crumbs, and panko with butter for the topping.
This is exactly what I wanted when I went looking for a recipe for a casserole of Cordon Bleu to feed all of my grandchildren from one rotisserie chicken! Yum! Trying to acquaint them to different recipes flavors.

Dear Laura, How do you manage to not have crazy extremist Vegans spamming in your comment section? Because i see it in some comment sections of other RUclipsrs, when they do a video about food or nutrition or cooking. They start attacking ppl randomly calling them names and basically trying to convince people in a negative way (there are other, better ways) . Not every Vegan is as fanatic as the ones above, but unfortunately too many! I am happy that here are no hooligan-vegans, but only nice people that just are here for some nice food, for positive vibes and for Laura! :D
+SuperDubios I think the vegans decide to not attack her because she's a more so a chef that cooks multiple things, and not all chef's have to cater to vegans particularly, so they allow her to cook with meat and dairy because I guess we still need some non vegan cooks in this world
This looks so freaking amazing. Im definitely going to make this soon. I personally would like to make the sauce a little thicker just because that's my own personal preference and probably serve with mashed or baked potato. MM! Sunday Dinner here we come! :D

Casseroles are a great comfort food variety and I'm glad I watched this video prior to heading out to pay bills and whatnot. Now I can stop by the store, grab some ingredients and go home and make this meal for my brother and I. Yay, thanks for the easy and light version of a classic Laura. I prefer recipes that are lighter than the original counterpart especially if the process is made easier.

Whipped this up last night. So easy and so delicious. You never disappoint. The flavors come together perfectly and way less prep {and mess!} than 'traditional' cordon bleu.
I made this on Saturday night, and it was great. This is definitely going to be on go to recipe. Easy and super yummy. To me it was not too saucy so I did not serve it with noodles. Instead served it with roasted broccoli and carrots. This recipe is definitely a keeper. Your recipes are great, I have made many of them. Thanks for helping out in the kitchen.

Oh my, Laura, you just have inspired me by this deconstructed Chicken Gordon Bleu, to make this dish even better, that is what recipies are meant for I guess. In the Netherlands we have a dish called Chicory in ham and cheese from the oven. I think it is perfect to combine both these dishes in ONE oven dish...wow...I will try this combo dish very soon and inform you about the results...!! You really have inspired me today..! I love casserole recipes! The leftovers are always to die for, if there are any leftovers afterwards rotfl. Though I mainly only cook for myself so I always do have leftovers. Usually I bring them to work for lunch/dinner anyways, so it's a win-win situation for me whenever I DO have leftovers. I always love your recipes!
Dear Laura, I noticed your impatience with the pepper grinder - I use to have one of the types you use and I too found it very trying. After a bit of research I bought one these pepper mills from Cole & mason and it's superb. You might care to have a look yourself. It's called a: Morley wooden hand crank pepper mill. I like how you rotate the handle rather than wind it. It's capable of grinding pepper to an very fine powder.
I can't tell you how many times I've tried to make chicken cordon bleu or chicken kiev and it NEVER works for me. So I'm actually mad excited to try this. Thanks Laura!
made a variation of this last night, chicken breast cubed and cooked, cream of mushroom soup, ham, swiss and vegetable stock seasoned... next time I'll use some white wine in the sauce!! I love chicken cordon Bleu this was sooooo much faster, just as good and way less calories and fat... fantastic
The whole meal is “untraditional “ , but that’s okay because there is no such thing as an “authentic “ recipe or dish. Through the years so many people have altered recipes to their taste or whatever is affordable or in their region. So you do it your way, and she did it her way! I will also alter a little too, to cut some of the calories , sodium, butter ect Do what works for you, your health and taste preferences. 🤷🏾♀️
I've never had cordon bleu but I'll try this with half the sauce and I'll mix parm with the breadcrumbs (not sure if she did that I was multitasking). The butter on top is everything

i used to do the old fashioned roll up chicken cordon bleu, but i'm going to try this (if i can figure out where i stuck my chicken in the freezer!) but i'd also add some broccoli or spinach - can be cooked with the noodles. makes it more of a one pot meal.
Great idea! Have you ever made chicken kiev the same way? I can't figure out how to make chicken and herb butter and bread crumbs come together to make a casserole. Any suggestions?

That sauce is a mix of a Béchamel as well as what's called a velouté sauce which is a roux and a light stock. =]
