Parental Alienation is such an important issue that needs to addressed in society. Thank you CAFE for bringing Christine to talk.

Wow! Does this resonate. My kids are 28, 25, and 22 years old. This is two years post-divorce from a narcissistic husband/father. He "bans" me from the family home plus asks for my absence at public family events as it will just be too awkward for him to deal with. Wow. As enmeshed as I am as the "alienated" parent, I've lost sight of the possible legal rights that may be applicable in my case...one does become a sort of enabler to this behavior in trying to "keep the peace"; in essence creating a lose/lose situation. Thank you. Now I do not feel alone. There is solice in that.

Thanks for your efforts. Alienated Father here. Haven't seen my kids in almost 10 years. I know my ex went to a psychiatrist for years and years so I think what was said in this video was true about mental issues within the alienator. Dictionary really should make alienator a word as these people exist in the millions. Way too late for my kids and myself....damage is done. Hopefully you people get somewhere with this in the future but it's hard when you are fighting just to have PA recognized and taken seriously. Too many social workers think they are experts just doing damage beyond belief.

I took my child’s mother to court and it was the worst mistake for myself and my son’s life. Everything was in favour for my ex. She was a public school teacher, a brilliant manipulator. She aligned my own mother against me. I finally had to walk away. How do you get over this?

When you get pushed out of your child's life you also get blamed for abandoning them.
Religion can also be a motivation and an excuse for self justification.

In the US, the abuser is given custody

LeAnn Newberry and this is exactly why I’m scared to death to get out of the abusive situation I’m in right now. Even though I’m the only one working (for years), he has no drivers license, access to housing if I’m not paying for it, I’m so scared that our daughter will be taken from me because he has her so brainwashed that she puts him on a pedestal and pretends she hates me. I’m afraid the courts will listen to his lies and hear her saying she hates me (for literally no reason and she doesn’t mean it, and she knows it but won’t admit it), and end up giving him custody.
So here I am, stuck in a miserable life, it’s affecting me in every other aspect of my life and he’s ruining my life and our daughter and my other kids lives.

This issue is much bigger than people realize. Even though it's a small subset of those affected, other relatives can be alienated as well. My nephew and his grandparents went through it as well, though nowhere near as bad a case as some of the people whose story I've heard through you folks.

Very important topic and thanks for posting it. I'm having a very hard time continuing watching after 7 or 8 minutes because the camera person insists on panning to the tiny handful of audience and leaving the camera shot on them for several seconds. Over and over. Why!? Just leave it on the presenter 90 + % of the time. Unless they are giving questions or commenting.

9 years and counting of living hell. The court encourages it.

Please hang on. I pray that you reunite with your children one day in Jesus' name. I am doing the same thing.
