  • In this video you will learn about Pentose Phosphate Pathway which is also know as Hexose monophosphate shunt pathway. It occurs in eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells as an alternative pathway to glycolysis. The main intermediate of this pathway is Ribulose-5-Phoshpahte which is used to form nucleotides and DNA

      @@bilalsmicrobiology8978 Sir as every reaction occurs two times in glycolysis so they say that there are three glucose-6-phosphate in pentose phosphate pathway.. So would every reaction occur three times here also?

      It's nothing more than an altetnative pathway to utilize the glucose...our cells follow it in certain conditions which I mentioned in a video
