    The mnemonic for G-Protein Coupled Receptors could be improved by writing "Go to AC for Craps and Poka". Poka (as opposed to Poker) helps remember PKA even better! Credit to Meryl Braun for the idea!

    Thank you for your clear explanation. Just for the fact, i like to point out that MAP-kinase-kinase-kinase is called Raf, MAP-kinase-kinase is called Mek and MAP-kinase is called Erk. (You mentioned MAP-kinase-kinase-kinase controls Raf and so on at time 13:20 to 13:27).

    • @Viridian88
      @Viridian88 Месяц назад

      Yeah, that actually confused me. Raf IS the MAP3K, like Erk is the MAP2K... He said it like if they were non enzymatic proteins being controlled by something else.

    Also, keep in mind everyone that:
    - increased levels of GTPase = decreased Gq/Gs/Gi activation.
    - if they talk about activation of a G-protein followed by a phospholipid cleavage = Gq pathway

    a mnemonic for the substrates was literally layed out for us, I dont know if he didnt mention it because it was obvious and everyone knows them or if it was seriously missed. its the first letter of all substrates in the same order he had in the video
    for G protein coupled receptors Gs and Gi the substrates are: FLAT CCHHAMP GG. or FLAT CHAMP cggh (pronounced sugah) the 2 Gs can remind you that its Gs AND Gi and the theme of things in pairs of 2 should remind you that its H2 and ADH V2
    for Gq: GOAT HAG , there is only 1 goat so its linked to V1 and H1
    for RAS: remember its associated with growth and insulin is an anabolic peptide + Growth factors. letters are random IIPFE
    cGMP; its associated with dilators as he mentioned. NO ANP BNP and Endothelial derived RELAXATION factor are all dialators
