@olschoolTonyCarter The Batman arcade game came out around the same time as the Superman arcade. It was the only time a Superman game was superior to a Batman one.
I have every home console Superman game. It was interesting playing thru them. The Famicom version of the NES game has music from the 1978 movie. It's cool to hear if you're a fan. Great video
My favorite "Superman" game is Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes. As with most Lego games, it is straightforward, fun, and relatively simple. While the game starts as a Batman story, once a super villain attacks the Batcave and raises the stakes, when all seems lost, the last son of Krypton arrives to the rescue Dynamic duo. You assume control of the Man of Steel as he departs the grounds of Wayne Manor. The first time you double jump and realize you can now fly anywhere in Gotham City(and later to Metropolis as well), a familiar anthem by John Williams gradually builds to a crescendo(i all its ochestral glory) and the heart of the little kid in you will soar like Superman himself. It is truly magical and unforgettable.
I have all three Lego Batman games, but I've only actually played the first one. Got a little burned out, but its been a while since I played a Lego game, so maybe its time to go back.
To be fair, considering I played about 10 games and literally every single one of them called it heat vision, you would have thought I'd get that right!
RE: Scientist bloke: It's Prof. Hamilton,a recurring Superman character who's sometimes bad and sometimes good. In Tas he's good and helps Superman, but becomes evil* for follow up series follow up Justice League. *I'm on a jotstick I cant get into the nuance.
Superman Returns is my favorite with the GameCube shadow of apocalypse next and the death of Superman SNES third but the Lego Superman is the best version especially the one in dc villains it’s just not his game 😩😂 Hopefully they make him one with the new movie.
I actually liked several Superman games, but not many. Here's my list(not in order)... 1) Superman (Genesis) The graphics may not be great, but I loved the music and it's actually better if you use cheats. 2) The Death And Return Of Superman (Super Nintendo) Much better. It's actually my favorite of all the Superman games. 3) Superman Returns (Xbox 360) This is the best 3D Superman game. Even better than Superman The Man Of Steel. Which isn't saying much, but Superman Returns has the advantage of being on a better system and being based off a movie. 4) Superman The Man Of Steel (Xbox) This is my least favorite, but compared to other 3D Superman games, this is actually better than every single one of them except Superman Returns.
I had heard that Superman games were generally poor, and it looks like I was well informed. I've never played a Superman game, and I'm unlikely to play one following this! Thanks for the content TRB, especially on Patreon, some spicy stuff there, well worth a couple of bucks.
For the most famous super Hero he has such a shortage of games. I was searching for the Friday Night Fight Channel and i cant find it, do you have a link for it?
The Friday Night Fights is a series I am doing on my Patreon, which will be kicking off in January. I will probably add one a month on RUclips as well though on this channel, so keep an eye out :)
That so-called "Superman 2" on C-64 is not a Superman at all. It's just a hack of Gradius-inspired space shoot'em-up Delta, done by Finnish programmer Stavros Fasoulas and released by Thalamus. It seems like someone had cracked the game and changed the player ship sprite to Superman.
Here's how you make a good Superman game. You're powerful, and invincible outside a few super-foes. The main failure condition is losing the public trust, causing Supes to descend into a depressive moral crisis.
That's how the Superman Returns game was set up. Superman is invincible, Metropolis/Earth is not. So you need to minimize the damage you and the threat are causing.
I remember, I think the master system had one superman game that had potential. I remember liking it ok. The death and return game is probably the best one..
Out of DC's top superheroes it comes down to alien boy scout orphan or millionaire brooding orphan most people will always think it is funner to play as the brooding millionaire over the boy scout alien
i saw someone mention the atari 2600 game and the game gear man of steel but there's also the unreleased battle for metropolis on game boy color there's a prototype available on hidden palace and it's playable for the most part
For my money, the best Superman game is still the 1989 Taito arcade game.
Oh, I didn't look at the arcade game! Wonder if there's enough Superman games left to do a part 2.
That game was kinda wack honestly. Cheap? Yes. But to say it’s the worst of the bunch? I’m not so sure I agree with your assessment.
That was the only good Superman game made.
Facts, I played the hell out of that game in 1990! The Superman game on Sega Genesis is the second best.

Heat vision! ..the Superman nerd in me cringed every time I heard the term "laser eyes" haha

My very first Superman video I got as a kid was the 1979 Atari 2600 Superman a year I got to see the first Superman The Movie in 78.
Oh nice. I didn't realise there was an Atari one! I should have included it! One for the future I guess.
Superman Returns is my favorite with the GameCube shadow of apocalypse next and the death of Superman SNES third but the Lego Superman is the best version especially the one in dc villains it’s just not his game 😩😂 Hopefully they make him one with the new movie.
If they decide to do a game of the
New Superman movie next year better be good.
I kinda hope they do. But I doubt they’ll do it.

There was a Superman The Animated Series game for the PS2 that was decent. Surprised I don't see it here
I didn’t know about that one! Will have to get it for part 2 down the line.
Always love when people talk about Superman games, they are very...unique.
They really are! I kinda get why, too. Surprised we haven’t had a new one announced yet!
Here for Death and Return on SNES!
It’s one I’ve owned for years That my friend gave me. Always found it strange. But not bad at all.
@@thereviewsbrothers3854the best of the bunch imo
Same. For me it is great and a terrific adaptation of the source material.
Ummm, Atari 2600 would like a word with you. XD

Wait!!!!! Where is the Atari 2600 Superman game!!!!!!
Oopsie😂
Hate when people do these things and miss like one or two or three more.
Then you correct them they get furious as about it.😂
I always forget about the Atari, to be fair!
Wow, the music in Superman II is really creepy
Actually the music is from the game Delta, it's the game this Superman 2 game is based on
Actually Super Man 2 for the C64 is a variation from the real game Delta on the C64.
We really need a new and good Superman game tbh
Thanks 👍🏼
I didn't know that. Not heard of Delta! I need to do some more C64 content in the new year, so I will check it out, thanks :)
@616Entertainment might get a kick out of this, that Dan-Dan sure loves the SuperMan!
The Atari 2600 game "Superman" is missing, as well as the Game Gear "Superman: Man of Steel" game too.
Looks like there’ll be plenty enough for a part 2 at some point 👍
You missed the weirdest one. Fortress of Solitude on the GBA. It's just some puzzle game with a Superman story tacked on.
I do actually have that. Haven’t played it yet though. Sounds like I’m not missing out on much… would have fit the weird theme though!
Platform jumping... AS SUPERMAN?!?!?
SUPER platform jumping...
They truly need to make a damn good superman game
I want to see a modern Superman game with a similar budget and effort as the PlayStation Spiderman games.

That is actually very helpful! He says it a few times in the game, but I still didn't get it!

If they wanted to get super creative, depending on your actions, the bad ending could basically lead into the Injustice storyline.
I remember, I think the master system had one superman game that had potential. I remember liking it ok. The death and return game is probably the best one..

True. But Superman should have some great potential for games. I guess just punching isn't as interesting. I love the flying around bits though.
Death n return as well as maximum carnage are my favs from the 90s
i saw someone mention the atari 2600 game and the game gear man of steel but there's also the unreleased battle for metropolis on game boy color

@thereviewsbrothers3854 😅😅
My favorite is Superman on the Atari 2600.
Shadow of Apokolypse and SuperMan returns were decent. Justice League game was pretty good too.
👍👍👍👍🕹🕹
I knew they are all quite poor. Thanks for showing them :)
