I can't wait for you to tackle the actual horrible Power Ranger games, the worst (IMHO) MMPR Game being "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle" I actually wasted money on it, and tried to play it with friends and stream it.. it is.. horrible.

Despite its shortcomings, I really like this game. Unlike the SNES game, it actually had the Green Ranger (plus, you could play as the evil version in Versus Mode). Also, I liked the sprites in this game better. The Rangers look awful in the SNES game and the Megazord looks better in the Genesis game, too.
MMPR for Genesis was far better than the SNES game. Sure, on SNES you could play unmorphed, but the identical sprites for the ranger outfits, and lack of Tommy just nerfed that title to death and left a mediocre beatemup at best. The Genesis game, for all its failings, remained true to form with sprites and abilities for each ranger, and that crunchy Yamaha sound chip freaking slapped hard on the main theme.
Actually . If u weren't around at the time,u can't nickpick and compare The Most Popular Game (SF2 ) to a company merely trying to capitalize off of the Vs Fighting genre ...that SF2 created . The kids simply wanted to play their favorite PR characters . Now if Capcom decided to do the PR game the opinions of the Host would be very different.
The main reason why I bought the Genesis version was because of the Green Ranger and how show accurate the game was, including the accuracy of the look of the rangers themselves. I'm also glad I bought Power Rangers The Movie on the Sega Genesis for the same reason. The Super Nintendo versions missed the mark, the only thing they got right was the unmorphed versions of the rangers, as well as the morphing sequences. But the models for the rangers on both games on the SNES version has a very inaccurate Pink and Yellow ranger, they were given male bodies instead of female bodies.
Though the yellow one has an excuse, they were following what they had for Power Rangers at the time, since the Sentai footage had their yellow ranger as a guy named Boi.
@@MegaAnimazing That doesn't really apply here since they made these games specifically for the MMPR version of the show. They just reused the Red Ranger sprite for everyone, except Tommy in the Movie Edition.
Nope, they're pretty much similar. Power rangers even has ryu's a dow forward attack projectile. And i don't like it (which i don't like street fighter either) but they don't suck.
At least the Pink Ranger has a different sprite, unlike the SNES version. SNES Pink Ranger is so macho lol. Plus, while the Yellow Ranger is a sprite recolour, at least the more slender body lends itself better to unisex use, than the beefed up SNES version body. I am so glad with The Movie versions of the game they put more effort into each Ranger's unique morphed appearance though. Power Rangers The Movie on Mega Drive has unique sprites for every Rangers except the Black and Red, which are still just recolours with different moves. As for the SNES Movie version, I think it as the same problem as the SNES basic version, but at least they went out the way to give the White Ranger a unique appearance. It's so weird that the non-movie version of the Power Rangers games from this era with the most attention to detail is probably the Game Gear version, despite the limitations you'd think it'd have considering the hardware it's on. It has the most playable characters, and IIRC each Ranger has a unique sprite, which is nice. Honestly, the Mega Drive Power Rangers game would have been so much better if they had just ported the Game Gear version over and beefed up the graphics and SFX for the superior hardware. *EDIT:* Yeah the SNES version is better than the Mega Driver version overall, but that changes in sequel, Power Rangers: The Movie; Whereas the Mega Drive Movie version takes great strides forward it (even if it still ends up just an average game at best), whereas the SNES version of The Movie takes great strides back and is a worse game by far than the first SNES game, feeling more like a lazily designed platformer than a fighter or beat 'em up.. No combos, no zords, one-hit kill enemies, and a half-baked lane system. I'd say out the four, The Movie SNES is the weakest title (despite being pretty, the gameplay isn't there - at all), followed by the non-movie Mega Drive version being the second weakest, and then either the SNES non-movie title, or the Mega Drive The Movie title being the best, though that may come down to personal preference more than anything.
I actually had this version up until my mother smashed my Genesis, and we lost the house with nearly everything in it due to condemnation. I'm still quite mad about it to this day.
Both GG entries are legit portable fighting games and among the best on the system, even if you have no love for the license. I bought both on release even though I was an adult who knew little to nothing about the property. Both are great and fall only behind the two Neo-Geo ports when it comes to the best GG fighting games.
The game's prototype only had the Zords against the monsters and had more monsters, the Rangers were a last minute addition, henced why they are the same sprite with the same basic moves. Try the Game Gear version, it's the best 8 bit figthing game of that time, it combines the 1 vs 1 fighting of this game with the side scrolling of the SNES version in regular stages, all the Rangers had their own sprites with their own stances and basic moves, they are not a color swap, not only that but they also have more variety of basic moves and all special moves are done with the same command, only changing the button. You also can play with the Dragonzord Battle Mode and you can even play with the monsters in the 1P VS CPU mode, including the Putty Patrols and after you beat the game you unlock a VS mode that allows to play gigantified Rangers against the Zords.
No one wants to play power Rangers to be the teenagers, or fight the same looking puttys over and over, im glad they cut the bs out. All i really wanted was to fight as the zords. Too bad there wasn't a way to pick individual zords and then join them together at some point. The game could have been better to bad it wasn't more refined. i think it had potential maybe tagging in other rangers and definitely should have been able to play as the bad guys also
Id agree it's a serviceable fighter but the fact it's ok and a power rangers game makes it great. And missing out on two other big points like having the doomsday storyline in there as the finale of the story (love me cyclopsis) and the 2 player mode allowing you to fight as the baddies (why I love cyclopsis as I took out everyone with him!) felt a bit misleading in the overall criticism. Overall, most what you said was true but I'd go with ok as a video game, great as a power rangers game. That aside, awesome video as always 😊
having played every mmpr game as a kid, i can say that the genesis version does pale in comparison to the snes game. while having the green ranger is a plus, the game is only 5 stages long. and you can only use the green ranger in 2 of those levels and the dragonzord on 3 levels. being a fighter makes it harder for casuals to get into since the most an average person will do is mash buttons in hope something will happen. i mean, not everyone plays street fighter II religiously so a down forward or charge forward motion will not hit their heads when it comes to using the special moves. i've said this in the rita's rewind video, but i'll say it again and say that the game gear game is miles better than the snes game. its a fighter just like the genesis version, but far more varied and a vs cpu mode that lets you use everyone in the roster. including the villains and evil green ranger via a code. not to mention it covers every part of the green with evil saga minus the unmorphed jason vs green ranger fight. so you fight the green ranger, then the green ranger again as the megazord, then in stage 4 you face the dragonzord as the megazord before the green ranger again. the best part is you have more stages to utilize the green ranger. who imo is one of the best characters in the game.
I still own this game... I think I either got it for my birthday or christmas when I was eight at the time. I kinda wish this got a hack where you can play as the villains.
The most fun aspect of this game is the versus mode. Playing against family and friends while taunting your opponent in character was awesome. Its definitely still worth a play although Battle for the Grid is the better modern fighting game.
This was my favorite PR game really. But back then, it was either this, or spamming jabs at puddies. Battle for the Grid is awesome. It may be a mix-in of nostalgia, but looking back on this, I still think it has a charm I can't quite put my finger on. IMO it feels closer to a Power Ranger experience, while BftG is more of _just_ a fighting game with a (very nice) coat of PR paint.
Enjoyed the review, hope you cover the movie one on the snes, I really enjoyed that one, you had segments where you fight unmorphed and didn't have to till you fought the boss. Bummed that there was no zord game-play like the first one. Enjoyed the game boy one too!
I came here to say the same thing. Like why is he comparing a side scrolling beat ‘em up to a fighting game? The Genesis Power Rangers movie game is definitely the superior beat ‘em up.
It's okay to be more heavy on nostalgia and console bias. Still though, the playable involvement of the Green Ranger, Dragonzord, .. the inability to defeat Goldar in your battle, the ability to play as the war zord Cyclopsis in versus mode AND the code before the game starts to play as the Evil Green Ranger in versus mode? I have trouble not defending my nostalgia either 🤷🏻♂️
It was fun with a friend. I remember playing it as a kid round a friends house, and really liking it. I spent ages trying to find it, but I had a SNES at the time... and only games I could find was the 2D scrollers. Wasn't until much later I discovered it again via emulators and yeah... it's not the same on your lonesome. It's just a crime I didn't know about Fighting Edition as a kid...
This is one of my favorite genesis games. When you hit the enemy it actually feels good, each hit feels impactful. It doesn’t have to be “street fighter” the combos and specials are fun to pull off in their own right. And the addition of the zord fights make it that much more worthwhile.
I honestly do think the game gear games were the best being beaten up/ 1v1 fighter games. I also think Power Rangers the movie for Sega was the best console. Mighty Power Rangers for the Snes was second best. Power Rangers the movie for the Snes sucked with its annoying difficulty spikes. Mean while both game boy games sucks a fat sausage with bad control and bad level design. The movie game is kinda cool with the super Nintendo player and a password to remove the tangu level. With Save states to removed the Bs tangu level it's OK but still kinda crap
While this game may lack the depth of other fighters, my brother and I had fun with it back in the day. Unfortunately we didn't have an SNES, so we didn't get to experience the scrolling beat-em-up version, even though we thought the Mega Drive game would have been better if it had more of a Streets of Rage / Altered Beast flavour to it.
Something I found weird was that the control pad only had a normal attack button and a fierce attack button, especially if we consider that the first Sega Genesis controller had three buttons. Why would they leave a button out? And even though you only pick the heroes in scenario mode (story), everyone is selectable in versus mode.
ive had the ROM of this game for around 20 years now but I grew up with this on Sega. One of my earliest introdcutions to Mecha, and I even have a Cyclopsis statue partly because of this game. Its fun, but its not winning any awards lol. That said, I always wished a new game would come around and give us the chance to play as the Megazord in a fighter style like this, and it just never happened. Im also waiting to see if Cyclopsis ever returns... in anything. a game, a collectible toy we never got, something. (closest we got is the battle for the grid statue, which I of course got, and painted)
Can you do video on side scroll & vertical arcade style shooters with fan service. And fan service beat em ups.. and will the new double dragon game coming out have the pull hair, and knee face?
*_*looks over at my copy*_* Yep, still have it >w> Yeah, i wouldn't compare the two games as versions as they are entirely different games. Shame either had a subtitle to differentiate the two. I like both.
I rented this game about 5 times as a child, I loved it so much! My opinion was reversed, playing the Nintendo one as a adult it didn't seem as good to me, a bit boring but we can blame nostalgia for that one.
it took me 25yrs to figure what that blue bar was for. and also, this is going to be a morphinominal ride if THGM goes through all the power rangers games.
Power Rangers as a franchise suits beat em ups much better then it does one on one fighters IMO. Combine that with the fact the SNES game allowed fighting as the Rangers in Human frm something all too many Power Rangers game developers are too lazy to include even now, and even with the Green Ranger and Dragonzord the Genesis game loses.
I wanted to play the SNES version because you could morph into the Rangers. However, The best one I played was the Sega Game Gear version. I remember getting that game for Christmas, and I played the hell out of it, LOL. Damn, being a kid during the 90s was awesome. Especially when the Power Rangers first came out.
MMPR for Genesis was way better than the SNES version. Yes it was limited with only using two buttons and had flaws as a poor street fighter clone, but it wasn’t as monotonous, and felt more true to the looks and feel of the first season. Believe it or not, the GAME GEAR version was the most complete, as it included both 1v1 fighting and beat ‘em up elements, and had more stages! Those games came out by the time Tommy was already the white ranger… so there was no excuse for Nintendo not including Tommy in their versions.
If you're on the hunt for an exhilarating 16-bit fighting game featuring the Power Rangers, look no further than "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Fighting Edition" for the SNES! This gem was a childhood favorite of mine, packed with intense battles and nostalgic charm. It’s a classic that truly captures the spirit of the franchise, making it a must-play for any fan!
GreenRanger or not, MMPR was goated ! PR never had much on console but this & the movie game are always gonna hold a special place for Ranger fans ! Once & Always
As a huge Power Rangers fan I can agree with you in regards to this game. I prefer the SuperNintendo when it comes to regular MMPR but when it comes to to those games based on the Movie I prefer the Sega version
My primary gripe with this one is the controls and same helmets is just lazy but I did have plenty of fun playing it. The Game Gear game is an interesting mashup of 1v1 fighting and horde battles with putties and arguably plays better than this one.
Growing up in the nineties, you simply have to understand the framing of the myopic standards at that time, you're either an unrealistic hero, embodying the unrealistic heroic tropes and standards Jason Idealizes as the Red Ranger leader, or your a myopically possessed to the realist understanding that there is no standard, and morality, like priority, is merely as standard of minimalist expectations,
Also yes you're right the Super Nintendo Power Rangers game is the better of the 2 that you've reviewed so far. The Genesis version was bad lol. The Movie game is by far the best one period. Please play and review it lol
Why? This was 3 years after it's release. Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury and World Heroes all existed. Good licensed fighting games like Turtles Tournament fighter existed too!
@TopHatGamingManChannel Ok .Had no idea it was That long a time between them . I honestly never had any of The Power Rangers games but idk , I wouldn't expect any Television type Franchise to be as good as a Dedicated Video Game Franchise . Granted on some occasions it may work ..like for example Batman but u have to Look thru the Weeds to find a good game within those NonVG Franchises .
That’s funny cause I had the genesis and the power rangers game, and I felt like I was missing out because I preferred a beatem up over a bad fighting game.
Using the monsters or Megazords in vs mode is awesome, basically a Street Fighter 2 clone, the only bad part of this game is the ranger gameplay. Everyone knows that MMPR The Movie on Sega is leagues better than any other 16bit MMPR game though.
This is STILL better than Rita's Rewind. Lol And until MMPR: the Fighting Edition came out the following year for SNES, it was the best (also only) power rangers fighting game. Green Ranger was also my favorite to use in the game. RIP, JDF.
Right finally he's talking about the Genesis MMPR and if you have no nostalgia for this one, then you shouldn't be doing this... But I'm so glad you are. Someone had to. This was my childhood. Whooping ass and getting the green ranger and the dragonzord was awesome as a kid, and fighting Goldar.. Ahh you wouldn't understand. But the game was great. 👍 (for nostalgia only granted)
i dont get why when comparing sidescrolling beat em ups you chose the MMPR 1v1 fighter from sega over MMPR the Movie, which is a side scrolling beat em up?? its like you dont want to do a proper comparison of the games you're comparing..
I’m going to disagree on which is better for one reason: MULTIPLAYER. Yes, the Genesis/MegaDrive one is not the best fighting game on the console, there were much better ones available already on the console. Every game, even a bad game, is more fun and replayable when you can play with someone else. Furthermore the comparatively shallow gameplay could actually be seen as a strength for getting more inexperienced players (like a younger sibling) into the fighting game genre as a whole. The SNES game lacking a multiplayer mode limits it to just a one and done experience. Sure, you can replay it with each of the 5 Rangers; but to what end? Was there a hidden unlockable or even a different ending for each one? I’m honestly asking. I have no idea, I fell asleep during my 2nd playthrough and could never be bothered to beat it again.
Have you played the Mega Drive version of Power Rangers the Movie? It's much closer to the SNES game in feel and in my opinion, vastly superior to this game.
Comparing MMPR to SF2 is wild af ! Not much variety ? Ofc not, its literally 5 Rangers while SF has never been 5 only😂😂 so many more points I could make but why bother, I feel its common sense that that was a bad choice to compare MMPR to.
Well I did that as it's a Fighting game literally everyone has played. I could have compared Turtles Tournament fighter instead (there's only 4 Turtles) and I would have drawn the same conclusion. There were plenty of good fighters from the time, but this isn't one of them.
I can't wait for you to tackle the actual horrible Power Ranger games, the worst (IMHO) MMPR Game being "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle" I actually wasted money on it, and tried to play it with friends and stream it.. it is.. horrible.
Top hat I think you should review the game gear version of the power rangers. it's a better fighting game than Genesis version it had if all the storyline of the power rangers all the way to the ending of season 1 also you can play as not only the power rangers but the monsters as well.

Hi, have you tried the MMPR genesis/megadrive game based on the first movie?
With the white ranger and Iven Ooze?
MMPR The Movie for Sega Genesis was the GOAT. The only problem with it is that it's just too short.
and it was the only one that followed the movie
Agree
I just recently played it. That music on that game is heattttt! 🔥 The first stage already pulls out a banger. Also it's better cuz it's co-op and they can dash around like turtles in time. Definitely a great beat em up. Underated even.
This was the one power rangers i would play constantly back in the day, it may have been short but it was fun all the same.
@@jabberwock6 The Game Gear game did as well.

Even the females have the male bodies 😂
Not having nostalgia for the game disqualifies your opinion on this one 😂
On the contrary, having Nostalgia automatically disqualify you.
Wut. It's the opposite. You're biased because you're blinded by nostalgia. I'd take opinions from people like you less seriously.
Nostalgia is always negative.
@@younglove3362Nope
@@MegaAnimazing I'm aware of that.
@@MegaAnimazing That doesn't really apply here since they made these games specifically for the MMPR version of the show. They just reused the Red Ranger sprite for everyone, except Tommy in the Movie Edition.
PR the movie 🎬 for Sega shocked me because it was fun. The other power rangers games can kick rocks 🪨.
meh, it was a weak fighting game imo.
Comparing this game to Street Fighter II is like trying to compare Shaq-Fu to Mortal Kombat.
Hey...ShakFu of Genesis Just need better controls
Nope, they're pretty much similar. Power rangers even has ryu's a dow forward attack projectile. And i don't like it (which i don't like street fighter either) but they don't suck.
Uh....
Which version of MK ?
Shaq Fu was amazing. MK was overrated.
@n00bc0de7
MK was not over rated, especially not compared to Shaq Fu. Stop ✋️
It's kinda sad that the best power ranger game is still probably the game gear games.
You could argue for the The Fighting Edition as well.
I gotta disagree on that one. MMPR the Movie for SEGA Genesis is at the apex, in my opinion.
Power rangers the movie 🎬 for Sega, hands down the best!
Both GG entries are legit portable fighting games and among the best on the system, even if you have no love for the license. I bought both on release even though I was an adult who knew little to nothing about the property.
Both are great and fall only behind the two Neo-Geo ports when it comes to the best GG fighting games.
@@NeightrixPrime Oh, the Fighting Edition is awesome. Also, the best part is you don't have to be a Power Rangers fan to enjoy it.
You should put the names of the games in your title of your videos. Its a pain to search for a specific game you have allready reviewd. ❤
The game could have been better to bad it wasn't more refined. i think it had potential maybe tagging in other rangers and definitely should have been able to play as the bad guys also
You actually can play as any of the bad guy characters you fight in the story mode of this game if you do the 2 player versus mode
Agreed, I had a blast with this, just wish everyone had unique helmets besides Kimberly.
Do the game gear one's. Those are the best bar none
having played every mmpr game as a kid, i can say that the genesis version does pale in comparison to the snes game. while having the green ranger is a plus, the game is only 5 stages long. and you can only use the green ranger in 2 of those levels and the dragonzord on 3 levels. being a fighter makes it harder for casuals to get into since the most an average person will do is mash buttons in hope something will happen. i mean, not everyone plays street fighter II religiously so a down forward or charge forward motion will not hit their heads when it comes to using the special moves.
i've said this in the rita's rewind video, but i'll say it again and say that the game gear game is miles better than the snes game. its a fighter just like the genesis version, but far more varied and a vs cpu mode that lets you use everyone in the roster. including the villains and evil green ranger via a code. not to mention it covers every part of the green with evil saga minus the unmorphed jason vs green ranger fight. so you fight the green ranger, then the green ranger again as the megazord, then in stage 4 you face the dragonzord as the megazord before the green ranger again. the best part is you have more stages to utilize the green ranger. who imo is one of the best characters in the game.
I still own this game... I think I either got it for my birthday or christmas when I was eight at the time. I kinda wish this got a hack where you can play as the villains.
This is better than the $35 cash grab we just got.
At least this one had some sort of two player
You just let me know you never played the SNES version. It too had a two player mode.
The Sega Game Gear version of Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is better then the SNES and Genesis combined!!!
Fight me 🥊🥊
Yeah the fighting game wasn’t the best at all. You my friend need to play the Sega Genesis version of the Power Rangers movie game
I came here to say the same thing. Like why is he comparing a side scrolling beat ‘em up to a fighting game? The Genesis Power Rangers movie game is definitely the superior beat ‘em up.
Why couldn't the megazoid in Rita rewind couldn't be like the sega megazoid fight?😂😂😢
I had that one back in the day ❤
I loved this game as a kid lol. Sunk so many hours into this with my brother
Love this game. I think it's the first game I ever beat, and I rented it multiple times as a kid.
Happy new year to you and your family @TopHatGamingMan
The Sega version was waaaay better lol.
Hey top hat, did you know the Tommy actor died?
ive had the ROM of this game for around 20 years now but I grew up with this on Sega.
It’s crazy how much better the game gear version of this game is.
My first exposure was of the Genesis version and that one was short. It had a VS mode and it was alright.
Yep I remember renting the head to head fighting game as a kid back in the 90s being disappointed it wasn't the side scroll beat em up version lol.
I had both games, I liked them both equally ❤
*_*looks over at my copy*_*
Yep, still have it >w>
Yeah, i wouldn't compare the two games as versions as they are entirely different games.
Even as a 5 year old I found the genesis fighting game to be quite boring.
As a 9yr old i found it fun.
I remember seeing this game at toys r us and wanting to play it but never had the chance. I have nostalgia without playing it lol
The SNES Power Rangers fighting game that was built on the engine of the Gundam W fighting game is the best classic 16-bit Power Rangers game by far.
GOD DAMN! Even as a deaf man I can hear the music in this game
Played this for hours as a kid. It was the only console game with the Green Ranger.
If Power Rangers the movie 🎬 for Sega had green Ranger then that game 🎮 would be top of the line iconic, bar none.
Anyone else notice how Madam Woe's health bar looks like it reads 'Madam Hoe'? 😂
MMPR The Movie for Sega Genesis is the greatest pr game! Beats of power made it even better by adding green ranger and combining the nes game
For the Record What is the best Power Rangers game for the SNES to N64 ?
MMPR for Genesis was way better than the SNES version. Yes it was limited with only using two buttons and had flaws as a poor street fighter clone, but it wasn’t as monotonous, and felt more true to the looks and feel of the first season.
Believe it or not, the GAME GEAR version was the most complete, as it included both 1v1 fighting and beat ‘em up elements, and had more stages!
Those games came out by the time Tommy was already the white ranger… so there was no excuse for Nintendo not including Tommy in their versions.
The fighting game is pure garbage, the movie one on Genesis is the best.
The Power Rangers Movie Game on Sega Genesis is the best Power Rangers game of the era, might be the best
7:42...did you malfunction here Top Hat?
Still say the Game Gear version did the best job of adapting Green with Evil.
My primary gripe with this one is the controls and same helmets is just lazy but I did have plenty of fun playing it. The Game Gear game is an interesting mashup of 1v1 fighting and horde battles with putties and arguably plays better than this one.
Have all the MMPR games on both systems didn't have to choose. Each game had their merits as well as their shortcomings.
Don't tell Top Hat that there WAS a Power Ranger Fighting Game on Super Nintendo. Or either movie game on both consoles.
Wait what?!
The Sega version had The Green Ranger?! I never knew that, damn it!
😅👍
I’ll play all the crummy retro games I wanna play!
Besides, my CIB copy looks real nice sitting on the shelf collecting dust!
Growing up in the nineties, you simply have to understand the framing of the myopic standards at that time, you're either an unrealistic hero, embodying the unrealistic heroic tropes and standards Jason Idealizes as the Red Ranger leader, or your a myopically possessed to the realist understanding that there is no standard, and morality, like priority, is merely as standard of minimalist expectations,
I preferred the Genesis version, and logged hella hours playing this game. It was amazing and the megazord battles were the best!
Were power rangers a bigger deal in Britain than in the US?
Dude, MMPR for the Genesis was the SHIT! The only bad thing is that I didn't have a second player!
Actually, I did, but he was only two years old.
Also yes you're right the Super Nintendo Power Rangers game is the better of the 2 that you've reviewed so far. The Genesis version was bad lol. The Movie game is by far the best one period. Please play and review it lol
Its Kinda unfair To compare another Franchise to SF 2 at that time .
Why? This was 3 years after it's release. Killer Instinct, Virtua Fighter, Tekken, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury and World Heroes all existed. Good licensed fighting games like Turtles Tournament fighter existed too!
@TopHatGamingManChannel
Ok .Had no idea it was That long a time between them .
I honestly never had any of The Power Rangers games but idk , I wouldn't expect any Television type Franchise to be as good as a Dedicated Video Game Franchise .
Granted on some occasions it may work
..like for example Batman but u have to Look thru the Weeds to find a good game within those NonVG Franchises .
NGL I still love the Genesis power rangers to death. I still go back to it time to time
Review the Mega CD game next! 😆
Lol
And until MMPR: the Fighting Edition came out the following year for SNES, it was the best (also only) power rangers fighting game.
Green Ranger was also my favorite to use in the game. RIP, JDF.
If you haven't had the opportunity to try the game gear MMPR game, give it a shot. It's like this, but good.
(for nostalgia only granted)
Bandai made up for it later with that power rangers:fighting edition on SNES that game was pretty playable
I had way more fun with the Sega version than I did with the SNES.
i dont get why when comparing sidescrolling beat em ups you chose the MMPR 1v1 fighter from sega over MMPR the Movie, which is a side scrolling beat em up?? its like you dont want to do a proper comparison of the games you're comparing..
The movie game on the Genesis was the best mighty Morphin power rangers game.
@TopHatGamingManChannel your opinion. Mine is the comparison was shit & the game is goated. Not everything is final fight, streets of rage, etc.
Memory
I hope you Do the Sega CD One next are you in the game gear one which one was actually pretty good
That sega power rangers game need to be done on new gen with updated graphics and better
Loved playing this and the snes games. Fav is still prtm on snes
Genesis port shouldve had beatem up story mode and kept the 1 on 1 fighting as multiplayer mode. Sega cd port was a disaster since its a fmv game.
I can't wait for you to tackle the actual horrible Power Ranger games, the worst (IMHO) MMPR Game being "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle"
I actually wasted money on it, and tried to play it with friends and stream it.. it is.. horrible.
I think there were a Sega CD game for mmpr as well.
I grew up with this game and the AI really kicked my ass. Despite my losses and able to pass the game eventually. It's a pretty mid yet solid game.
you should play the game gear one. Imo that was fantastic as a kid lol
Top hat I think you should review the game gear version of the power rangers. it's a better fighting game than Genesis version it had if all the storyline of the power rangers all the way to the ending of season 1 also you can play as not only the power rangers but the monsters as well.
