    You are a wonderful teacher. I appreciate the close up clear view of the ring and the angles of the bur and the cuts.

    Great clear explanation of good support to the cutting point. A tiny tripod of finger tip control puts the cutting point of the burr exactly where you want it. Thank you, great teaching of a practical skill.

    Thank you. I'm self teaching. And learned so much in this video. I'm trying to learn cutting a shelf for oval and pear shaped faceted gemstone bezel settings. If I am cutting a shelf in an oval, say, do I go in the direction of the rotation the burr, or the opposite. Seems the same direction makes it feels easier, but more likely to slid off??? Any tips? Thanks again, and smile!! You're helping so many! Mimi

    • @RioGrande1944
      @RioGrande1944  8 лет назад +4

      Hi, +huskyfluffy! Our Jewelry Tech Team applies pressure in the opposite direction of the rotation. Otherwise, the bur tends to run away and it's more likely to slide off. Let us know if we can provide more information!

    What hand piece and flex shaft is that your using? I noticed the hose(?) going from the hand piece to the motor is smaller and coiled.

    Am I the only person who burns their finger on the collet housing of the #30 hand piece while trying to hold the burr correctly? Maybe I need to switch to a quick-change hand piece since it not as big around.

    so, this freaks me out a bit--does the friction from the bur shaft not burn your finger?

    • @RioGrande1944

      Hey, +Meghan Langley! You use a little bur life on your finger it prevents the friction from burning your finger. Works like a charm. :)

    Common the middle finger do not go foward because you can't hold a shaft only with the thumb and index. By reflex the middle finger will hold the shaft just like the other ones. Nobody old a shaft with two fingers.
