Criminals and most violent people are COWARDS. Carry your firearm always. I have a CPL, but I try to open carry as often as I can. Because firearms are a deterrent. Just keep your head on a swivel.
Dr. Lott's webpage, "Cases where armed citizens have stopped active shooter incidents," is misleading. Many of the cases he cites do not involve an "active shooter" as defined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. An active shooter is "an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearm[s] and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims." Note that the word "people" as used in the definition is plural. Many of Dr. Lott's examples have to do with a threat directed toward a single individual who was specifically selected. I would have liked the FBI statistics to have be an undercount, because the notion of a citizen hero is very appealing, but alas, Dr. Lott's refutation of the FBI data falls short.
This is the real hard facts that need discussing. Too much appeal to emotions to see the forest for the trees. Yes, every loss is tragic. But the response needs to be proportional to the danger.
The correct response to violent attack is effective and timely self defense. The individual right to self defense is sacrosanct. Any restriction on that right is complicity with the attacker.
New Mexico Governor Grisham puts out an order Banning open carry and concealed carry for Citizens and Bernalillo County. Only police officers and certified security are allowed to carry. The executive order effect today
If my memory serves the murder rate in Brazil dropped 30% when citizens were allowed to carry firearms. Empirical evidence that armed citizens stop murders if only by instilling uncertainty in those that would harm others.
And there are times, as my brother and I had, that no shots fired stopped a shooting or robbery. We stopped a robbery by accident because we open carried and we were looking at donuts. There is a lot of bad things stopped because a good guy with a gun stopped a bad guy with a gun.
A security guard is a citizen. They are not government officials, they are not law enforcement, in my view if an armed security guard stops a threat that is the same as any other armed citizen anyway.
Bottom line... if a firearm was brandished by a legally carrying citizen and it stopped a criminal with a gun even if no shots were fired then it counts as stopping an active shooter situation. The mental hoops the FBI goes through to say a defensive gun use counts or does not is mind boggling. "oh that dentist office shooting was a revenge thing so it does not count". Like how so? Some lunatic was shooting people, it does not matter if he was choosing specific people or being indiscriminate with his target acquisition; he was using a firearm to kill and an armed citizen who was legally carrying put a end to it with his personal firearm. Sounds like it counts to me.
We need more people out here like Colion Noir Unfortunately people fall to peer pressure and give us more whiny people saying THEY know better ways to protect us when in fact they do not.
How many crimes are NEVER INITIATED because the criminal doesn't know who's armed? Without a legally armed citizenry, we'd all be ravaged by the criminal element. Nobody discusses this simple fact!

Thank you both for the video 👍🏻
It shouldn't matter how rare it is if it's stopping active shootings and saving lives
yep. theyre literally saying; "well, youre solution only rarely works to solve the problem so you shouldnt ever be allowed to try it."
Thanks. There’s an ol’ saw hereabouts: “figures don’t lie. But liars can figure.”
Thanking God for Colion Noir and the knowledge and information he’s blessed us with.
I have had a CCW for around 40 years, and that time I stopped one robbery and had to draw my firearm the police thank me🇺🇸🦅
Thank you so much for interviewing Dr. Lott, he is so knowledgeable & able to articulate the details of these studies!!
💯👍
Great work sir! Thank you!🙏🏽🇺🇸
How many crimes stopped without firing a shot that don't get reported. Gangs shooting each other are listed as children being killed with guns.
We as a country really need to reduce the number of accomplices.
This was a very productive interview . You did a great job Colion with good questions and not cutting off your guest.
I hope he stays safe and hopefully they dont try to take him out. Good video
Spread the word!
"figures don't lie but LIARS do the figuring!"
Excellent conversation. Thx for sharing this.
New Mexico Governor Grisham puts out an order Banning open carry and concealed carry for Citizens and Bernalillo County. Only police officers and certified security are allowed to carry. The executive order effect today
Good job keep shining the light
More guns, less crime!!!
Active shooters are stopped 100% by the threat of an armed adversary.
Unfortunately they still will not listen to the truth you know the truth hurts
Phenomenal video as always sir!
Thank you, Mr. Noir, for this EXCELLENT interview/exposé.
A security guard is a citizen. They are not government officials, they are not law enforcement, in my view if an armed security guard stops a threat that is the same as any other armed citizen anyway.
FINALLY!! I've been hoping to find this data for years! Thank you, Mr. Lott!
Great content keep it up!
Wow!!! This information is very interesting 🤔🤔🤔
Thanks to people like mr.Lott we get real data, and thank you sir for the tireless effort you put out
We need more people out here like Colion Noir Unfortunately people fall to peer pressure and give us more whiny people saying THEY know better ways to protect us when in fact they do not.
Great job guys. Very informative
Great information. Thank you 🙏
More people should research and spread this information.
How many crimes are NEVER INITIATED because the criminal doesn't know who's armed? Without a legally armed citizenry, we'd all be ravaged by the criminal element. Nobody discusses this simple fact!
This is awesome info. The more knowledge the better. Thank you
Thank You both.
As soon as i heard this i was waiting for your video🙏🏼 thanks colin
