I've been writing my district reps., and wanted to thank you for the statistics and facts provided in this video. I plan on using them in my emails to opposing these House and Senate bills. That's why I believe in individual's freedom. Because no one knows what's best for everyone. Now I think its good to give opinions in a civil manner. But no to assume your way is the best way. If someone doesn't like guns and doesn't think they need them for self defense, thats fine just so long as they keep it to themselves. I've done some martial arts training. I'm a weapon enthusiast (definitely a historical weapons kind of guy, but I'll be damned to ignore all the advantages a gun gives). I have troubles gaining mass due to my schedule and just how my body functions. A weekend or two a month will allow me to be far more effective using a gun as opposed to using hand to hand. Even knives or bats, just gets too close. And pepper spray or tazers don't always work. So as someone who wants the responsibility to defend myself, a gun just makes sense.

I've been thinking about this for a while now. How many countries on this Earth are like the U.S.? None! How many socialist countries are there? Plenty. So if you don't like it here and want free stuff, be taken care of by the Govt. then you should just move there and enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor. I don't chose to move from here, I like it here. I like out Constitution and our system. I'm not about to stop anyone from leaving, but I'll be damned sure to try and stop someone from destroying this country that was built on the blood of patriots.

You would have to add on the fact that people have also become "too busy" with other things to keep an eye on what their government is doing, and they are too lazy to attempt to change it by putting pressure on their elected officials. Just voting when election time rolls around is NOT enough. You have to be aware and attend city/town council meetings and make your voices heard. If you're too busy to pay attention, then don't be surprised when the government does something that negatively affects you.

I was using the word "lazy" to infer those who are "too busy" to take the APPROPRIATE time and make the proper effort to keep abreast of what their government is doing, vote in local, state, and national elections. If someone's work schedule or family activities doesn't necessitate their presence, they SHOULD be putting things like Town Meeting Thursday 7:00 on their calendars, or Primary/ vote after work. During the Arab spring, several governments ordered their air forces to mass bomb civilians, and they refused and they place far less value on human life than the US does and you think that the US military will? Also, those drones, planes, missiles, tanks and all that need fuel, maintenance, and this is done at large military bases that are almost impossible to defend if overrun with tens of thousands of people, or even snipers blowing up fuel trucks and destroying power lines to military bases. Look up guerrilla warfare if you need a lesson on how effective it can be against a modern military.
To understand car deaths, you would look at all the separate issues: defective vehicles, weather conditions, speeding, drunk driving, distracted driving, badly designed roads, etc. Why they lump all gun deaths (suicide, gun crime, etc.) into one term speaks volumes. It’s about control not the desire to do good.
Same with pharmaceuticals. They were designed to treat symptoms of disease--yet they kill hundreds of thousands of people every year. There are all manner of side effects, even if taken according to instructions. I would bet she won't call for the banning of pharmaceuticals, though. She might actually need some someday.
Also they want people who sold the gun to person x to face criminal charges. Yet if someone runs me over, suing the car company is ridiculous. Both should be ridiculous.

Actually, I’m a woman who is on call for my job, which means sometimes I have to drive an hour or longer in the middle of the night and sometimes I have to meet men I don’t know, in the middle of the night. My answer to anyone who asks me why I need a gun is “Mind your own damn business”. That’s the problem, people claim to know what’s best for you.
That's why I believe in individual's freedom. Because no one knows what's best for everyone. Now I think its good to give opinions in a civil manner. But no to assume your way is the best way. If someone doesn't like guns and doesn't think they need them for self defense, thats fine just so long as they keep it to themselves. I've done some martial arts training. I'm a weapon enthusiast (definitely a historical weapons kind of guy, but I'll be damned to ignore all the advantages a gun gives). I have troubles gaining mass due to my schedule and just how my body functions. A weekend or two a month will allow me to be far more effective using a gun as opposed to using hand to hand. Even knives or bats, just gets too close. And pepper spray or tazers don't always work. So as someone who wants the responsibility to defend myself, a gun just makes sense.
I simply want to know why they’re not going for the actual criminals. Why only law abiding gun owners?

With 'high capacity' magazines having less and less ammo, Having a single-shot 50 cal is not going help much in bad situation. Wait till 'high capacity' means 2 rounds.
I also heard CA wants to pass a law that requires the magazine to be welded to the gun, so you need to load each round through the ejection port, like a WW1 rifle.

Have you ever called 911 for a serious crime? I have. Burglar had them at gun point took them 20min to get to my house and it was in 3rd largest city in So California Anaheim. Disneyland. You think the response be quick right? Not even. Hope you never need to wait for police. Look up Warren vs DC. Where 2 women called 911 2x they were rapped and kidnapped for a day. They tried to sue because the police showed up twice and did nothing. Courts said. The police HAVE NO DUTY to protect you. In other words. If they see you being assaulted or robbery. They technically have no duty to respond. Pretty shitty. Don't believe me. The COP in Florida where the kids were being shot and he stood outside coward he could of stopped many deaths. He was fired. It's ridiculous. If they really think Trump was a "tyrannical fascist" and America was capable of electing a "tyrannical fascist" then why would they want the government to be in control of guns? Also, if police apparently like killing black people, then why would they want them to be the only ones in their communities with guns? It's pure double think.
And where were the people that were "fighting off a tyrannical government? they were _supporting_ the tyrannical dictator (aka Trump).

I agree. That was one of the most important comments he made about the American citizen. A large segment of our citizens take WAY too much for granted and have become stagnant in our comfortable life style so as to not pay attention to the need to be prepared for whatever dangers come upon us.

Americans have not *needed* to do more than take their freedoms for granted for a very long time. We don't Rise to the Occasion because there is no longer anything to rise to.

You would have to add on the fact that people have also become "too busy" with other things to keep an eye on what their government is doing, and they are too lazy to attempt to change it by putting pressure on their elected officials. Just voting when election time rolls around is NOT enough. You have to be aware and attend city/town council meetings and make your voices heard. If you're too busy to pay attention, then don't be surprised when the government does something that negatively affects you.

That's why most of these pickets and protests and such, you almost always see them nearly 100% populated by young people, young students. Folks who are not married, don't have children to feed, don't have jobs to earn the money to feed them. People with jobs and families don't have the time to go March on Washington to get their Pronoun Rights protected.
Which also tells you that on those occasions when you *do* see working people taking time out to protest something, you *know* it *must* be *seriously important.*

That being said, my reference to people being too lazy is NOT directed to those who may not be free of their time to protest or money to travel to where some protests are being held. I was using the word "lazy" to infer those who are "too busy" to take the APPROPRIATE time and make the proper effort to keep abreast of what their government is doing, vote in local, state, and national elections. If someone's work schedule or family activities doesn't necessitate their presence, they SHOULD be putting things like Town Meeting Thursday 7:00 on their calendars, or Primary/ vote after work. A French philosopher once said (paraphrase) 'a people receive the type of government they deserve' meaning, if you don't pay attention to what your government is doing, you'll wake up one morning and find another Germany(1936), Cuba, or any other number of tyrannical countries. The American citizen hasn't had to fight for their peace of mind or their freedom a long while and have become way too complacent and accepting of how encroaching our own government has become. It's the complacency I'm talking about when I say "lazy".

@@yourpillow454 ....you seem to not understand the concept of a government murdering 100 million of its own citizens, most of the military wont follow the orders to do that. During the Arab spring, several governments ordered their air forces to mass bomb civilians, and they refused and they place far less value on human life than the US does and you think that the US military will?
Also, those drones, planes, missiles, tanks and all that need fuel, maintenance, and this is done at large military bases that are almost impossible to defend if overrun with tens of thousands of people, or even snipers blowing up fuel trucks and destroying power lines to military bases. Look up guerrilla warfare if you need a lesson on how effective it can be against a modern military.
To understand car deaths, you would look at all the separate issues: defective vehicles, weather conditions, speeding, drunk driving, distracted driving, badly designed roads, etc. Why they lump all gun deaths (suicide, gun crime, etc.) into one term speaks volumes. It’s about control not the desire to do good.

Same with pharmaceuticals. They were designed to treat symptoms of disease--yet they kill hundreds of thousands of people every year. There are all manner of side effects, even if taken according to instructions. I would bet she won't call for the banning of pharmaceuticals, though. She might actually need some someday.
When you remove suicides, police shootings, and gang wars the number becomes paltry.
Also they want people who sold the gun to person x to face criminal charges. Yet if someone runs me over, suing the car company is ridiculous. Both should be ridiculous.
