just WOW - I started to use the pocket 3 & from what little I know of the settings I love it.... so thank you Jake for the indepth tutorial.. who knew all of. this was inside this camera...
When I push LED off and on nothing changes.. is that due to it being new and not having installed a SD card yet? the green lamp on yours that turn off and on above the joystick is not on at all on mine no matter I turn it off or on... hmm?
Hey Jake, technically all the colour formates are 10bit unless you specifically go into the menu and change the file packaging to H.425 instead of H.426 if you use it as is out of the box it’s 10bit. I was surprised to find this out myself hope this helps! Also not sure if you knew but you can also use headphones with it to monitor your audio by using a usb-c dongle to 3.5” jack. Great video bud!!!!
Hello I would like your help if you know. I turn the joystick up and down and the gimbal doesn't move, instead it zoom. apparently apó kiču ενργγοποιήτηση είνα η operation. It is known from where and how; Thank you!
Jake this was an awesome quick start guide. I am excited about thsi device. Something you didn't mention or show (probably because it should be so simple) is installing the memory card. It should be easy right?!?!?!? I think I may have an defective unit, but just want to check that I am doing it right. Holding the OSMO Pocket with the 2" screen facing toward me having the card logo facing me doesn't go in, so it appears that I need to hld the label away from me. It goes in great that way, no hesitation, however it doesn't click in and stay.
Thanks! you need to push the card in quite a bit farther than you think to get it to "click" so the way you insert it and it goes all the way in use your fingernail or something small to push it in so it clicks
Hi Jake, i just got the Pocket 3 and have set up Custom Modes but i can not set screen rotation to Auto on custom modes. Its always landscape and i have to change that manually every time i go in to one of my custom modes. That seems strange. Am i missing something here? 🤔
Mine won't turn off. I was hoping you'd cover how to turn the camera off. It would be a good addition to this video. Probably more useful than how to find compliance info.
Hi Jake. I used my Pocket 3 for the first time on a project. I find that there is a lot of hand movement while recording. Is there a stabilizer setting that I may have not set properly? Thanks,
I truly appreciate the wealth of information in your video! Could you kindly demonstrate if there's a method to connect either the DJI Pocket 3 or DJI Mic to bone conduction headphones via Bluetooth? As a dedicated videographer, monitoring my audio is paramount. Your assistance is immensely valued. Thank you!
I'm not so happy with mine. All my footage needs to be stabilised in post to be used. I've tried my best to creep along - but even in bare feet, I get the "bump" up and down from steps :( Also, the horizon is off and even after recalibration, it still slopes. The Air 2S had this same issue. Thanks for the refresher of the features!
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you must be a busy guy! I watched another video of yours and I’ll persist with it. Maybe a factory reset like you suggested might help. I bought it for interior real estate, but the focus has been a problem too - with single focus leaving things out of focus as I move around, and continuous focus freaks out by focusing on close, then far objects as I pan left to right from a corner of the room - making it unusable (so far). I really want to love it ha ha!
@@JakeSloan I did the time lapse but I had mixed results. 1 worked and the other 2 times I tried I got absolutely nothing. I just didn’t know what the other settings should be.
Jake, any notable difference between -1 or -2 with regards to noise reduction? Also, ISO 400 or 800? I wont go higher than 800 but does the extra brightness of ISO 800 display more noise? Thx.
I haven't had any issues but I don run the camera in the highest settings for super long to see if it overheats, plus I live in the arctic soooooo.... 🤷🏻♂️
You say you don’t use ‘glamour’, but suspect that unshaved look isn’t real 😊. Do you find that the wider lens really needed? Seems like the 20mm standard is fine to me, but haven’t used. DJI also allows you to buy several options individually on their website and since I already have their original mics was considering only adding the battery handle, otherwise the creator combo seems like a great deal..albeit getting pricey. Great video!
LOL I don't think they have an "slightly unshaven look" in the glamor settings 😂. I personally love the 20mm look straight out of the camera. the wide angle lens can be nice in tight spaces but it also bows the straight lines a lot more
wow really? I haven't tried them out but thats disappointing. are you sure you got the ones for the pocket 3 and not the pocket 2? they are different and are not interchangeable
Hey Jake - great overview of the settings. I’m surprised there isn’t an easier way of using the P3 as a wireless webcamm - or is there? Hopefully there will be an update to allow for this soon, else Im hoping for a 15ft or 20ft usbc 3.1 cable!
not wirelessly but using a USB-c cable it does make for an easy webcam. You can stream directly and wirelessly using the Mimo app from DJI but the app will stream directly to places like RUclips Facebook instagram etc not for things like Zoom, Microsoft meetings etc
@@JakeSloan thanks for the reply Jake. Right out of the box, and with zero experience with the Pocket series, i was able to successfully run a 1.5 hour online meeting in Sessions (like Zoom). I’ve also had some success with ecamm live as it recognizes the pocket 3 with no issues at all. I have a 15ft usb 3.1 on order (should be coming today) and I’ve got 🤞🏻 that there won’t be significant lag with that length. Still hoping for a wireless solution some day though, or an option to connect through NDI or continuity camera.
Jake have you shot a timelapse of the Aurora with it yet? I was wondering if that sensor was good enough to pick up the lights. I'm planning on getting one of these soon to travel with and use for some real estate reels i want to start making. It really looks like fun!
Thanks, Jake. Well done and informative as usual. I just posted my first Pocket 3 video as a test (on a new channel), and it seemed to work well. Why don't these products ever come out in the spring when it is warmer here and there? It seems like all the goodies come out when it is colder. Have a fun-filled day! Happy winter. 2C (36F) here today. 😀
Very helpful. Thank you. The menu system looks to be 80% the same as the Action 4, so the learning curve is lower for people already in the DJI ecosystem. There are the gimbal and tracking controls that are different of course, but the basic capture settings, menus, playback, etc are very similar. With DLogM on the Pocket 3, Action 4, and several of the DJI drones, it streamlines the editing and grading process when integrating clips from the multiple cameras in post. Looks like DJI is emulating Apple with the concept of an ecosystem. Lastly, having this commonality of features must have the benefit of streamlining the firmware development for DJI. Their R&D costs can be amortized over a broad range of products. It is going to be hard for GoPro to compete with DJI long term in the action camera space.
New Feature Requests for the DJI OSMO Pocket 3 1. Add a dwelling time for each of up to four settable movement positions in Motion Time-Lapse Mode. As each of the four settable positions programmed into a motion time-lapse sequence is reached, the end user could set from 1 to 10 seconds of a pause in gimbal movement as each programmed position is reached during the sequence before the gimbal moves forward to the next programmed position. This would yield a much more dynamic and professional looking, smoother motion time-lapse sequence. 2. In Motion Time-Lapse Mode the ability to set movement ease in and ease out settings from 0.5 to 3 seconds for each programmable gimbal position before gimbal movement normal progression rate is reached. 3. True 24.00p filming speed. 4. The ability to set time-lapse sequences based on 24.00p. 5. The ability to be able to record from the DJI Mic 2 and from a plugged in via USB audio source at the same time. 6. Adding a 10 Bit 4:2:2 recordable video codec. 7. Please add zoom capability when shooting in all time-lapse modes.

the line bar is good, I haven't tried to monitor the audio out of the USB-c port

Hi Jake. I used my Pocket 3 for the first time on a project. I find that there is a lot of hand movement while recording. Is there a stabilizer setting that I may have not set properly? Thanks,

Thank you for the reply....

My camera is not recording audio. I dont see the audio level line showing up on the top left corner that audio is being recorded.
That line only shows up when an external mic is connected, when you play back the video files do you hear any sound?

How do you switch to your custom setups?
just like you switch between video, low light and photo modes but you want to swipe all the way to the left
Can you program multiple dji mics to a single unit?
you can link up to 2 DJI mic 2 directly to the unit
Do you have any recommendations for settings to capture a meteor shower at night ?

you only need a phone and the DJI Mimo app and it will connect via bluetooth
So @Jack, can you bind the DJI Mic 1 with the Osmo Pocket 3 or can you attach the DJi Mic 1 Reiceiver to the Pocket 3?
as I show in this video you can attach it and use it with usb-c but you cannot link it directly, you must use the receiver

Not much honestly. This thing is pretty clean
does it record 10 bit float internally?
you mean 32bit float? That is only recorded on the mic it self
@@JakeSloan yes internally on the mic. So that's 2 audio files when using the microphone correct?
