Q&A & Costume Upgrade | Refreshing and Bedazzling My Butterfly Dress
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 май 2023
- Hello Friends! This week I am going on a very fun photo shoot picnic with friends and am planning on refreshing and upgrading a butterfly dress that I made something like a decade ago! I thought that that's not a very exciting thing to watch, so I answered a few questions while I was doing it. Stay for the very end where I posted some of my favorite pictures from the shoot!

The dress is gorgeous, and at 45 minutes in, I have done my own project along side you, and that's truly why I enjoy your videos. Very much "crafting with a buddy" type thing.
YAY! That's kind of my intention...
I made a Cinderella costume for my granddaughter years ago. She was six years old and the pattern called for 5 yards for the skirt. It was like a many circle skirt with godets and wedges. It was a perfect Cinderella dress for a six year old. I put 2 gross of Swarovski crystals on the skirt and it looked like nothing so I put 2 more. I thought I’d wasted my time until she got dressed in it and as soon as she twirled that skirt just was electrified! And my granddaughters eyes sparkled even more.
When you can make a grandchild glow with happiness. Those are the best memories!!
@@robintheparttimesewer6798 I know, and the little darling told all her friends that said “you are so lucky to have that dress!” that they could borrow it any time. And she did lend it plus she gave them hints on how to twirl so they got the best effect of the sparkles. She’s now working on her masters degree at university! How quickly they grow up.
That dress sounds fabulous! I may have to take inspiration from this comment for a future project...everyone needs a sparkly princess dress! :)
Omg that butterfly dress is absolutely fabulous! It’s very ‘The Hunger Games’.
hahahaha yeah! I think i made this before that came out! It's ancient!
You answered my weird questions. Made my evening. 🎉🎉 love these chatty ones
Somewhere on my list of stuff I want to make, is a butterfly skirt. I am soooo tempted to make one in all the colors, and I might. I have finally got the mess in my sewing room down to the point where I can sew, again. Reading wise, I am just going through my old magazines, and taking out the inspiring pictures. I am listening to anything I can get a hold of, just to keep me moving , because if I sit down in someplace quiet, I will fall asleep.
Over the last couple of weeks, I have acquired about a dozen patterns. I get excited every time I have to move them, (they need a stamp, and to be cut out before I put them away) and I can't wait to get situated enough to be able to cut them out and maybe make one or two sooner than later.
Currently, I have a UFO on my dress dummy. It's one of those that I had trouble with, and come back to later and go, "What the H#%% were you thinking when you make this blunder?" This particular UFO is a floor length version of a 1948 McCall 7498 skirt pattern.. I had managed to sew the back flounce on upside down. It's been a year since I set it aside,, and all I can think is "How tired and stressed was I when I slapped this together? Dang!"
Here's to clear thinking when we sew.
I like the companionable/chatty videos, I'm hand-sewing alongside you bedazzling.
I really love long chatty videos like this. It's like hanging out with my friends while I get things done, only without needing to find space for another human person to exist in my teeny tiny sewing room! It was also fun to hear the variety of things other viewers were curious about. The shinies came out great, and thank you for posting this! Also, those photos at the end are magical!! :)
Thank you! And I’m glad you enjoy this kind of video. I never know what people actually want.
I very much enjoyed this style of video. It was fun to hear the Q & A too.
Oh yay Thank you!
I love 'watching' (listening mostly) your videos while I work on sewing. I've admittedly not done a lot of sewing lately but want to get back into it so saving the rest of this video 'till I have time to sit and sew. Thank you for your engaging, entertaining, longer videos!
I absolutely love grabbing a popcorn and riding the train until its gone (or um waaaaay after). It's so peaceful, I love watching families get on and off and listening to their lives for a little while and enjoying the park in a passive and leisurely way. Same with sitting on Main Street and just taking it all in. ❤
That butterfly dress is so beautiful! I love it! And I actually like Q&A's - it's fun to hear about what folks are up to. When you watch someone on RUclips, questions sometimes pop into your head (hopefully all happy ones) and its cool to get those answered. Like which Disney rides are best - OBVIOUSLY.
Also an 80s kid here! All the reproduction Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Care Bear, and MLP toys over the last few years have made my heart so happy! (Especially since I never had a Rainbow Brite doll, and now I do, plus I gave all my Ponies to the little boy next door when I was in elementary school because he loved them so much, but now I have some again.) And STICKERS! Mrs. Grossman's were my favorite. I loved the flat style, and also loved going to the office store where they had them on rolls and I could tear one off for a quarter. AND THEN, a couple years ago, I learned that Mrs. Grossman's now has a sticker club subscription thing where you get a bunch of stickers and they will also include a "sticker from the vault" which could sometimes be ones from the 80s. I had to stop my sub because I really didn't have anywhere to use them (all the new ones, that is), and keeping a sticker book just isn't the same when you're an adult. But the moment I find an excuse to get it again, I'm all over it.
I can't usually watch this type of video when I'm wanting to WATCH something, but when I also have something to work on (tonight I'm going back and forth between knitting my first sweater and doing some classic 80s plastic canvas needlepoint), it's PERFECT, because it feels like just a nice chat while I work and I don't have to worry about missing something when I'm only looking at the screen once every few minutes.
The gems kinda feel like dew drops on the wings - it's such a lovely effect
This was a wonderful video, and helped keep me focused while I finished sewing a blouse. I love when people do AMA, especially because I'm awful at coming up with questions but generally love the ones other people come up with. ^_^
I love that you still call it a bedazzler give me flashbacks to late 80’s denim jackets
Hahahahaha
Yes we love these videos! We love all your videos and projects and chats!❤
Yay! Thank you!
Look. I love your content. Talking is my safe space, and the crafting is a super bonus because I am also often crafting while watching your videos and it like... Kinda feels like hanging out. Anyway, I appreciate you and I hope you're doing okay.
I don't know if I would ever bedazzle anything (but never say never, right) and I make practical clothes, but I love watching costuming videos. You are so lucky in the states to have so many conventions and faires and stuff to attend.
Les Mis will be up here in SF in July. Just FYI.
Also, I really like this kind of video. "Crafting with a buddy", like someone else said. ☺
I don't know if they'd be strong enough, but there are clear sew-on snaps that might work to keep the wings in place.
What I'm working on:
I turned 2 skirts into 1 8-panel skirt and I'm almost done, just the closures and hem left. I'm also making Ora Lin's pirate pants in a printed cotton (felling allll the inside seams). After that, I have a 5-panel walking skirt in a light weight printed cotton (butterflies and flowers!). Before I do all of that, though, I'm crocheting a WIP basket for a crochet-a-long.
Love the dress and the video! I’m one of those folks that has watched your channel for ages. I live in Denver now but was born in Seattle and raised in the Bay Area and you just sound so familiar to me. Nothing like California. I am a seamstress and do everything from hemming jeans to making wedding dresses and have done so since I was 16 (I’m 70 now so do the math!). I’m also a quilter, knitter and embroider. Gotta keep those hands busy when I’m watching tv. I’m not reading anything new but just reread The Red Tent which is one of my favs. My daughters are in their 40’s and were raised in the Bay Area too. Okay, I guess I’ve taken up enough of your time. Take care. 😊
This was very fun! Every time you talk about what you are watching, reading or mad about, I realize that we have so much in common! It's rare someone is doing the same rant as I am. Rare, but here you are😊. I just wanted to say hello. I'm still reading Ken Follett, with some World War 2 biographies in between. Have a great weekend.
With kind regards,
Audri

I love ALL of your content, and that dress is beautiful! The bedazzling turned out wonderfully! I'm sitting here hand-sewing binding onto the armholes of a sleeveless dress... it'd be right up your alley, too. It's for a little one who is starting school in September and ADORES everything spooky and Halloween. Who says she can't have a Halloween dress in the Summer? :D :D
This is my favourite video format!
Yay!
I am also a crafting buddy watcher, so, I love the gentle talking, no music, real yime crafting videos.
Today, I am piecing together enough fabric to make a nice swoosh on a minidress
PS
The snapshots for the dress were fantastic!
Lol, I hate-watch Outlander too! Love the format of this vlog and the camera angles were great. As a child of the eighties, your answer to favorite kid toys was alarmingly similar to my own. I played with My Little Pony, loved He-Man, and loved CareBears while ALSO not having any, which was oddly specific?! Beautiful gown and great job, as always!
Up until a couple of days ago, I had been listening to "I Thought It Was Just Me" by Brene Brown and "Tanqueray" by Stephanie Johnson, but really needed a break after a few heavy chapters in each. In the last couple of days, I watched a few of your videos and fitted a tank top pattern I traced from rtw and cut on the bias. I spent this evening transferring my marks, binding the edges, and hemming it to the audio of this video. I've noticed that I feel a lot more in the mood to sew when I watch you sew, so I use that to my advantage when I want to sew but feel stuck. I found your "stream of consciousness" style and the candor you capture in your videos comforting to listen to.
Pretty Butterfly gown, the bedazzles didn't show that well in a computer screen, but I'm sure in real life they are awesome. I'm still knitting socks, but only have 1cm of knitting to go on the sock I'm on now, when I'll knit some vintage gloves. It's almost winter down here so it's the right season. (NZ). I'm reading some books that were made into TV series, like "Miss Fishers Murder Mysteries" and "Vera".
Knitting socks myself…with some lovely NZ wool…hi from QLD
I watched the Ted Lasso finale yesterday! OMG so good!
Spoilers:
Super Happy Rebecca found the Amsterdam guy! I threw my arms up in the air and yelled with excitement when it happened! :D
I figured Nate would be the head coach, but i understand the 'work your way back up' attitude. I always hoped Nate would be redeemed, and was not disappointed!
Issac's net wrecking goal! Amazing!
When they're checking the the office after Roy says he wants to join the DD, Ted looks right at the camera! lol!
Then i spent like 20 minutes pausing it any time there was a paper, book or magazine! So many little Easter eggs!
Honestly, one of my favourite shows ever! I'm heartbroken it's over, but was happy with how they ended it.
I love this format, because it is like a podcast and I can do stuff alongside, but it's not voice only which can be too much sensory wise for me
"I did get a bite of Bernadette"
Absolutely glorious 😂
😂🤣
Nice to hear you talk while I cook and wash dishes. Yeah, keep those special travel places secret.
Gorgeous dress. Re: this style of video, sometimes I like them, sometimes I don't. They're great to listen to while I have my own project going on, but not all the time.
That dress is amazing, so beautiful! I love the photos, and your friends costumes as well. Yep"The rape show", I only made it through about 5 min of one, that's all I could handle. Ted Lasso is on our list of watchables too. Ugh, I don't envy you your job search. That's how we ended up in the Netherlands, almost 7 years ago my husband lost his IT job in Palo Alto, and at his age, 58, could not find another, till a place in Amsterdam called him, it was a life changing experience we are loving, but totally unexpected. As for healthcare, even at our age, we pay per year here, what we were paying per month in the states, and get better service, it boggles the mind, and I was working as a nurse in the states! Wishing you luck in finding something you really enjoy, life is short, enjoy the journey!
The dress is beautiful! Thanks for keeping me company while I dug through my inboxes today at work.
Thank you!
I love this dress. Photos turned out beautiful. These are the perfect videos for company on a rainy afternoon of sewing with intermittent swap the washing over to the dryer stops. Just listened to Love for Life on audible and it was lovely.
Hi! First time commenting from Atlanta, GA but always watch. Love the butterfly dress. I sew but mostly do home Dec stuff and quilting but enjoy your channel and love to work along with you and as you talk!! I want to try sewing different things and you give me inspiration and courage. Lastly, I am leaving for Ireland in 10 days for a 3 week trip. Never been but I feel like it is going to be fantastic. I would also love to move abroad because of what this country has become. I enjoy reading historical novels and I listen to true crime podcasts!! I always look forward to your next video.
You look amazing! I do so enjoy these videos where you talk and I can listen to you and be inspired by your cool projects. Thanks again!
Thank you so much!
I enjoy this type of video, just sitting and talking while working on a project. Super often, I put on YT videos to keep me company while I write or do artsy stuff, and something longer and talky is perfect for that. Tonight I worked on character summaries while you kept me company! :D
I would love a life where wearing a butterfly gown could be in my experience. That gown is worth what looked like an enormously labor intensive use of rhinestones. Beautiful photo shoot. I love fantasy gowns, so much room for making it your own. While (at least for me) making comic con cosplay is anxiety producing hence my usual _____ (insert your fav IP there) bounding method of costume creation!
Hi! I’ve been following this channel for a couple of years and have never said hi! I guess I was afraid of the comment section and interactions 😢 My name is Alex and I’m from Southern Virginia, USA. I’m a pediatric crisis counselor, a foster mama and I (try to!) make 18th century out of whatever material I can find and afford. Right now I’m trying out my very first set of stays from some thrifted curtains! I loved this video because it pulled me out of a depressive funk. Our most recent foster kiddo went home last week and the house is too quiet, so I willy nilly chose this video to fill the silence, and it worked wonders for me. I ended up getting out of bed and have started working on my stays. It feels like having a buddy in my sewing room with me. Thank you for being you! 😊
Hi!! I’m so sorry it took me so long to respond. I’ve also been in a funk. Anyway, you sound like an amazing person and it’s very nice to meet you. Comment whenever you like, it’s a pretty chill place here!
if you could open up the wings you could slip magnets inside and then have invisible closures!
This kind of video is great for body doubling/keeping me company while I work on something of my own.
Currently hand-sewing a Seamwork Aims blouse because I do not have a dedicated sewing room and I don't feel like cleaning everybody else's mess off the dining room table and dragging out the sewing machine and rushing to finish it before someone gets mad at me for getting in their way.
What a gorgeous butterfly dress and you look beautiful in it!!
Thank you so much!
I loved this format. I sewed on my new house robe while you talked. ❤
NOELLE!! Who do you think you are creating something so beautiful? I can't stand how wonderful you are!! I love it you beautiful beautiful human!!!
💖💖
😂 We were so poor, we had goodwill toys, and my favorites were paper dolls because i could always make new clothes for them.
I was a game master for a larp that was a charity program. We ran games with disadvantaged children as part of therapy. Because they could choose violence to solve the problem but it never leads to the best outcomes. The goal was to teach them problem solving in a safer environment.
Sorry info dumping about Larp.
I'd like to say I'm reading Nettle and Bone by T. Kingfisher. It is sitting on my nightstand, I'm reading trashy paranormal romance that is boarding on X-rated.
I'm actually sewing, for the first time in 2 years. It's just mending historical small clothes but it is thread needle and thimble taking two pieces of fabric making them into clothing currently. 😊
Such a fun and relaxing video! I enjoyed watching it while doing some weaving this morning. It felt like just hanging out with a friend. Perfect vibes! ❤
I'm so glad!
I absolutely love this format. You are a great accompaniment in my sewing room
Oh thank you!
This is so beautiful!
That gown was beautiful in your photo shoot!
Thank you!
Thanks for answering my Disneyland question, we have some of the same favorites! The same favorite big rides and I also enjoy pin trading. I would probably live just relaxing on Main Street but I don’t go often enough to not feel in a hurry to DO more. I enjoy Star Tours but inevitably get a little motion sick. One of my favorite more peaceful things to do is to get on the last car (facing backward) of the Casey Jr Circus Train at night. The view is so different and storybook land is so enchanting lit up.
Didn’t intentionally save this one, but watched it while finishing a baby blanket project I’d been dreading…. Thanks for getting me over the hurdle!!
Wonderful!
I liked this video format! While I was watching it, I was hand-sewing some lace trim onto a skirt, and the vibe was very much "hanging with a friend." It was really nice :)
Awesome! Thank you!
I enjoy hanging out and listening to you. So, yes, I enjoy this type of video. This is a beautiful dress.
Thank you!
I finally had time to watch this. I think it's a great format for when you have to do a repetitive task for a long time. It gives you relatively easy content, and it increases the crafting with a friend vibe. This was a nice video to knit to, and your beadazzling turned out gorgeous.
Hi Nicole. Today I’m making a Piupiu which is a Māori garment worn round the waist or shoulders and klacks as you move. It’s difficult and takes a long time and is the perfect thing to do while chatting to a friend and today you were my chatty friend so thank you. I’m not sure why you would want to come back to New Zealand as we seem to have the same problems as the rest of the planet. I guess we have to keep working to make it better but it is quite depressing. Keep doing what you are doing. You were my secret little vice during lockdown and you have enriched my life considerably ❤
Noelle, ahhgh I know it’s Noelle. Very sorry
You looked ready to take flight with those wings neatly wrapped around your skirt. Amazing dress and amazing photos.
I actually love these types of "talky" videos because they're perfect for me to craft while listening to. Today was the necessary, but rather boring, job of taping together a PDF pattern. Was glad to have some company.
I spent last weekend teaching my friend how to sew a dress from concept to bent needle..... Next installment hopefully we will actually finish it. She picked out a wrap dress and we successfully did the arts and crafts (pattern prep) and laundry (fabric prep), followed by cutting out and darts, and two seams before the machine frustration set in. After she left I got it fixed, but I thought for sure it was going to need servicing.
I'm currently reading the second Brandon Sanderson secret project from last year's Kickstarter. It's pretty good, but the first one was better.
NOELLE DONT DO IT!!! (totally kidding!) This was a fun video, i had to take a break because my phone was dying and was shocked that i was an hour in! I usually find Q&As a bit boring but your viewers have good questions :) or you pulled the good one, either way, yay!
About to read Ocean at the End of the Lane with family bookclub, so we'll see how my aunts and uncles do with it 😂 our usual reads are like murder mysteries? And other fantasy has been a bit questionable with group dynamics. My mom will like it and prolly my Granny, so thats the important thing!
this fun video is just perfect for the day, thankyou sweetie😀
Like this style of video...enough to come back and finish it another day
Thanks!
Yep like the thing ❤
Thanks for this. I loved it. That dress is fantastic!!!
I think Miss Maisel is an interesting take on a time period. For me, I see it as a woman who did all the "right" things that society demanded of her and was miserable - the home maker, the mother, the wife. It's not uncommon for people who realised they hated being parents to just 'stop' parenting and leave it up to their ex or parents while they go and live their lives the way they realise they should have to begin with. So I think it's really realistic (from my perspective as a single mum who had all the plans to have a husband, 2.5 kids and a house before 30).
I'm starting the MCU! I have watched here and there but now have started a chronological binge of all movies and shows :P Just about finished with Agent Carter (2 seasons is not enough!). I'm listening to a series of audio books by Kate Bold, strong female leads and lots of suspense (love crime novels so much).
Not sewing much, LOTS of cross stitch though :) and just spent a weekend in Melbourne Australia for roller derby so getting back into my routines is sluggish (I really hate cooking lol).
I am a first timer! You are awesome…I adore your creativity 😊!
Thank you so much! Lovely to meet you!
Love the butterfly gown!! It's stunning! I'm also find with the long chatty videos, they are fun to listen to while working.
With all the confusion of the last few weeks our dog has decided that too many things are changing. This caused a stress induced problem with medication he will be find but he hates the meds! So yeah survive the month and the next is my only plan right now. Oh and waiting for the next phy-changling book from Nalini Singh! I so want to just send the publisher emails asking if it's ready yet! Just like a kid. Are we there yet?!?
I hope your pupper is ok!!
Saw the writers and some of the cast of Handmaid's Tale on the picket line today. Saw Jason Sudeikis & Brett Goldstein on the line recently too. Love Jill Thompson! Especially her version of Little Delirium. To the end
It's a beautiful dress but I had no idea heat setting each stone took so long per stone! I thought you could just zap each one on in seconds! I really like your longer chatty vids, but I do enjoy the time I spend "with" you so it works for me.
What a great video!! So fun. Definitely enjoyed it!!! 👍🏽😃
Thank you for watching! 🤗
Yes, I like this style of video
💖💖
Beautiful dress
Loved this video! I was working on some sewing as well so it was like doing it together.
Wonderful!
I really like this kind of video once in a while, you kept me company while I cleaned the dirty-ass pantry in the house I just moved in 😅
Yay new house!!
I love videos like this 😊
I’m so glad!
This style of video is perfect for getting my mending done so thanks :)
I'm so glad!
Hey Noelle! Gorgeous dress, and your photos look amazing. And now obviously I want a bedazzling tool as I *obviously* have a massive need for one.... obviously...
I have heard you and a bunch of other people talk about Ted Lasso and how awesome and wholesome it is, and still haven't watched it, but my devices are listening, and now I keep getting reels- I may have to find out which streaming service has it here in NZ!!
I have to find a book to listen to- I'm in an indecisive drought at the moment. The options are there, I just don't have the spoons to look at them and do decisions. I'm going to have to meander through the library site later and see what I can find that piques my interest.
Finally getting around to finishing my OG Pokeball crochet trilogy- have the pokeball and the great ball done, just finishing up the 'H' on my ultra ball. For literally no other reason than my Pokemon-obsessed partner had the audacity to wonder, out-loud, whether such a thing could be made 🤣
Have you considered using velcro in stead of snaps or hooks n eyes? Less mess than glue, customisable sizes and eady to use. Good video, I've been recovering from surgery and have not been sleeping well, your video put me in such a relaxed state that for the first time dince the surgery, i was able to get some good sleep. Thank you. I'm saving this to my play list to use as a sleep aid. Good luck on the job search, may i suggest you think latterly in appling for a job? Look at jobs you would not ordinarily apply for. You might be surprised at what you find. Anyway, good luck.
This is incredibly gorgeous!!!
Thank you!
What a beautiful dress!❤
Thank you! 😊
Gorgeous from the start.
Thank you!
I am SHOCKED you didn't get more likes for this video, so I guess, (😢), I'm in the minority here, but I love your lengthy vids AND your talky vids. The biggest selling point of your channel is YOU, so this was great-and I am glad I finally got to see the butterfly dress in it's full glory. (You look awesome in it.) Since you mentioned New Zealand with regard to moving there, I was just wondering if they have a costuming community there. (Not just Middle Earth costuming, but historical. I'm SURE they have Middle Earth stuff, lol.) And if NOT....well that could be your next calling, starting that community. ❤
I totally enjoy these videos. They are such good company while I am sewing. I am finishing some linen sheets. I am using the fabric-store linen and they are so lovely when they are done, but pulling the threads takes for. . . ev. . . er.
Head On! 😂 I haven't thought about that in years.
I was a sticker girly too. I still am. I'm the one with stickers all over my laptop and water bottles.
I love the chatty videos.
Best of luck with the job interviews!!
Also, I was thinking about you earlier today and then poof, you uploaded a new video.
reading the "Expanse" series fairly interesting.
loved this style of video! i was crafting while i watched, so it was like i was crafting with a friend in the same room and we were just hanging out. so yeah, really cool for me at least.
That is awesome!
That dress is fabulous
Thank you!
For cozy wholesome sci-fi I highly recommend Becky Chambers! Lower stakes with excellent characters and just really comforting. Especially with all the anti-trans discourse happening its so hopeful to escape into a fictional future where gender and sexuality is vast and varied and no one even questions it.
Have you thought about possibly using mini magnets to hold the wings in place? That way you can change the orientation without permanent installation. I have done this with matching fabric covering the outside piece but you could also glue a gem on to match the rest of the dress.
I'll have to watch this one later, but commenting for the algorithm.
Thank you!
Watching campaign 2 and 3 of CriticalRole. Reading the 'Rise of the Cheat Potion Maker' series. Sewing a crochet project bag/purse, just have the last zipper and closure on the top left. Crocheting a sleeveless top. Knitting the second sock to finish a pair.
Wish projects are to knit a 1890s cycling sweater and generally change out my wardrobe to 1890s. Already have 2 walking skirts that I wear with dress shirts so need to modify them for the puffy sleeves 😁. That and make some waistcoats and jackets. And save for some nice boots.
Such a pretty dress :D I adore it! (I also have a thing for butterflies, my favs are the blue morpho, but monarchs are very neat, too [high up the list ^^ probably 2nd]). Also, the photos at the end are utterly charming!
I finished relistening to Super Powereds because love and also 2 omnibus sets from one of my favorite authors (fav partially because of said omnibus editions, but also I really enjoy their paranormal cozies and suspense books).
I released a pattern for a support demon on ravelry that I'm proud of. I know you're not a crocheter, so I just wanted to brag because pride ^^
Happy PriDE MONth :D
This was nice.
Thank you!
With the beets: beets from a can are pickled. I dont like pickled things. But i had a fresh beet salad once and it was quite nice.
To the end🎉
💖💖
Yesss, come to New Zealand! We don't have a ton of costuming events here but I'm sure you could make it work. 😁 A year's worth of LOTR/Hobbit content anyone?
I love videos like this!! I watch/listen to them while sewing and it's like having a friend over to chat with who shares my values :) Currently working on a #seamworkaddison blouse with the bonus bow. After it is done I have some house skirts to make that are going to be based on 18th century(?) petticoats, with pockets. Agree 100% on South America - have only been to Peru but it was completely amazing... Also, I don't like beets and still try them occasionally because maybe this time they won't taste like dirt :D The ironing mitt is genius - I've found myself ironing on my body more than I'd like to admit... in other news, super excited the Righteous Gemstones is coming back
Wow, that dress is BEAUTIFUL! And the photos at the end are stunning!! 🦋
Yay for Carebears and He-Man!
Thank you!!
You look so beautiful in the gorgeous butterfly dress! What I am currently doing is seriously considering making a mediaeval inspired summer dress in pale moss green linen.
That sounds lovely!
Such a gorgeous dress. Instead of the snaps could you sew on short lengths of ribbon (1/8” wide, 8-10” long, attached to the dress at midpoint) to match up to where you want to secure them on either side of the wings. That way you could tie them in a bow when they aren’t in use, and tie them with the double piece of ribbon to secure each wing. I hope that makes sense, it’s hard to describe what I’m envisioning
Such a pretty dress on you! And a work of art, too. I was wondering if you've read The Bridges of London books by Ben Aaronovich? Paranormal police procedural romps...funny and fast, with great vampires and witches and goddesses and gods. Ben was the writer on Dr. Who for many years. There is also a graphic novel series featuring the same characters, but I've never read them. The series of books consists of 8 or 9 books and I've really enjoyed all of them. Love your page and really look forward to new additions. And I'm so down for more Q and A's. Have fun1
Oh yes! I believe we read the first one for the podcast series that I did with Morgan in 2020-2021
Sometimes it is nice, if work was overstimulating, to decompress with a craft and chat video. We can eat, clean, chill etc along with you. I am reading Half Sick of Shadows. It is an Arthurian legend retelling from The Lady of Shalott's point of view. I have been working on my baking and Asian cuisine cooking skills over the last year.
I love your Spring butterfly dress. I would cast you as Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream in a heartbeat.
